[Bug 236513] New: Backport xmlrpc-connector (eGroupware), cause Webdav isn't a option

2010-05-06 Thread henry
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236513

Summary: Backport xmlrpc-connector (eGroupware), cause Webdav
isn't a option
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: he...@level-10.de

Version:(using KDE 4.4.2)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

Since version 4.4.2 of KDE there isn't any option anymore to connect Kontact
directly by using xmlrpc to eGroupware. Webdav is just working for calendar,
but not for notices and addresses. To synchronisize the data by Webdav is very
slow in competition of xmlrpc (more then 1k appointments in eGroupware -
Webdav-connector read every single datafile in Webdav-folder again and again to
keep up to date).

Summary: Kmail crashes during automatic startup
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tpe...@gmail.com

Application: kmail (1.13.2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
Upon the system startup, when Kmail tries to run automatically, once I
introduce the password for the Kwallet account, Kmail crashes. The only way to
start it is to close the wallet with KWalletManager and run Kmail again. I've
checked that the first time the wallet is already closed.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 236534] New: Allow to select which sign mechanism to use in the composer window

2010-05-06 Thread Alejandro Lorenzo

Summary: Allow to select which sign mechanism to use in the

  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist

When setting an identity you can select which mechanism for signing will be
used, if OpenGPG key or S/MIME certificate.

I am currently using both of them, but the S/MIME certificate has information
about my national identification number and makes this signing mechanism not
fit for any other purpose than administration contact, so it would be great if
we could select which mechanism we want to sign from the composer window.

Currently, you can two separate identities (one with OpenGPG and other with
S/MIME signing) but i think it would be neat to select this without duplicating
the identities.

OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

AssignedTo: vkra...@kde.org
ReportedBy: mar...@lichtvoll.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: 1.3.1-3 debian packages (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Often, possibly always when I start Kontact the first time after initiating a
KDE session I get:

mar...@shambhala:~ cat /home/martin/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err
100506 10:44:38 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled.
100506 10:44:39 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 2895515
100506 10:44:40 [Warning] Can't open and lock time zone table: Table
'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without them
100506 10:44:40 [ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table
'mysql.servers' doesn't exist
100506 10:44:40 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '5.1.45-3-log' socket:
'/home/martin/.local/share/akonadi/db_misc/mysql.socket' port: 0 (Debian)

But when I close Kontact and start another time it usually works. This is since
upgrading to KDE 4.4.3. I am not sure for earlier KDE 4.4 version, at least it
wasn't that regular.

Expected results:

Akonadi just works without any user interaction whatsoever.

Since the problem does not happen always and there is a
/etc/akonadi/mysql-global.conf configuration that Akonadi could use if there is
no local one, I just don't believe the following to be a proper fix for the
root cause of the problem:

--
Table 'mysql. servers' doesn't exist
If MySQL server log contains the following error:
[ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.servers' doesn't
exist
[ERROR] Cannot open mysql.db
[ERROR] Cannot open mysql.user
[ERROR] Cannot open mysql.event
then, most probably, you don't have your MySQL configuration file in place.
Copy it from /usr/share/config/akonadi/mysql-global.conf into
~/.config/akonadi/mysql-local.conf. (For debian and openSuSE users the file ist
located in /etc/akonadi/mysql-global.conf). Then open it and uncomment the line
sql_mode=strict_trans_tables. If, after that, you get the following errors:
[ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' init function returned error.
[ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' registration as a STORAGE ENGINE
failed.
[ERROR] Unknown/unsupported table type: innodb
[ERROR] Aborting
then in the same file find the line that starts just like the one above (which
you have uncommented), but has additional parameters, separated by commas
(something like sql_mode=strict_trans_tables,strict_all_tables, ...etc).
Comment the shorter sql_mode=... line and uncomment the longer one.
On openSUSE 11.2 running the command
mysql_install_db --datadir=$HOME/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/
will fix this problem.
--

http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting#Table_.27mysql._servers.27_doesn.27t_exist

This just seems to be a work-around for me.

So please advise on a proper fix or explain to me why the solution from the
wiki page is needed.

I will attach the global Akonadi MySQL configuration from the debian package.
If it needs to be adapted, please tell so and I will file a debian bug.

Another reason why I don't buy the copy the global configuration file
workaround as a fix:

-
Test 6: SKIP

MySQL server custom configuration not available.
Details: The custom configuration for the MySQL server was not found but is
optional.
-

So I expect the default configuration to work out of the box. The only reason
to adapt it would be for me performance tuning if I had a very big data set.

[Bug 236538] New: often does not find resource agents on first start of Kontact

Since KDE 4.4.3 Akonadi often, possible always does not find resource agent on
first start of Kontact after starting a KDE session. On second start it usually
works.

[Bug 236539] New: dbus session bus not available on first start of Kontact - race condition?

2010-05-06 Thread Martin Steigerwald
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236539

Summary: dbus session bus not available on first start of
Kontact - race condition?
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux

  Severity: normal

Version: akonadi 1.3.1-3 debian packages (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Often, possibly always Akanodi complains about dbus session bus not having been
shut down on first start of Kontact after starting a new KDE session:

mar...@shambhala:~/.local/share/akonadi cat akonadi_control.error.old
D-Bus session bus went down - quitting
mar...@shambhala:~/.local/share/akonadi cat akonadiserver.error.old
D-Bus session bus went down - quitting

Since these are previous error logs, could this point at a race condition when
shutting down the previous KDE session? Obviously the DBUS session bus should
be closed after Akonadi has been quit.

Expected results:

No error messages for regular starting of Akonadi that confuse the user.

I am using:

I can confirm this bug. I'm also using Debian (sid).
Quitting Kontact, starting KAddressBook, quitting KAddressBook and starting
Kontact again solves this issue (as described in
http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting although Kontact does start
with me, but Contacts are unavailable at first start)

[Bug 236538] often does not find resource agents on first start of Kontact

--- Comment #4 from Martin Steigerwald Martin Lichtvoll de 2010-05-06

Thanks, okay, now found it in the Wiki page:

--
I can't see any details in my Address Book
At the moment, the cause of this is not identified, but the cure is simple.
Close Kontact, and start KAddressBook as a stand-alone application. After you
close it you will be able to use it within Kontact. It seems that something is
not being triggered when Kontact launches, and I expect this to be identified
and fixed soon. This seems to mainly affect version 4.4.0.
--

Anyway I just stop Kontact and restart it again. Then it works too. Like with
the other two bugs I reported.

But thats a work-around, not a *fix*.

[Bug 236556] New: Kmail throws error message when fetching mail from IMAP

2010-05-06 Thread Martin Bober
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236556

Summary: Kmail throws error message when fetching mail from
IMAP
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mar...@bdd-music.de

Version:(using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Archlinux Packages

Since my updating from KDE 4.4.2 to KDE 4.4.3 today, kmail throws an error
message when I click on an email in an IMAP folder saying:

Error searching folder. Server replyed: Error in IMAP command received by
server
(original error message is in german, I translated it for this bug report).

The console output is
kmail(4313)/kio (KIOJob) KIO::TransferJob::slotData: mimetype() not emitted
when sending first data!; job URL =
KUrl(imap://x...@xx.xx:143/INBOX.archiv.Registrierungen/;UID=38;SECTION=BODY.PEEK[])
data size = 1753

I get this message exactly once for every email I click on. Reading the email
works fine after I confirm the error dialog. Also, I do not get this error when
I click on a cached email.

KMail does not crash. It seems to handle the error well. But having to confirm
one error dialog for every email is very annoying.

Looks like we are the only alians bothered with this. Others do not care how
their mails look out when they are received? KDE has only 5 users?

I see this problem when I resume from suspend. When I try to check mail after
a resume, most of the time (maybe 80-90%?) the progress indicator hangs at 0%.
I have to quit kmail, and manually kill the kmail process and restart before I
can check mail again. This sounds like the same basic problem.

I think we are the only 2 persons which use Kmail in communication with
Outlook/Zimbra clients.

I can imagine thousands of bugs like this one when we will finally start with
replacement of Kmail's composer by Khtml or WebKit composer - bug86423

I wouldn't compare Kmail's HTML possibilities with Thuderbird because it's
 same
 as comparing Khtml and Firefox.

Right, there should not be comparison, but there can be healthy competition.

[Bug 236595] New: Contacts don't have email addresses

2010-05-06 Thread yaseenmowzer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236595

Summary: Contacts don't have email addresses
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: addressbook
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: yaseenmow...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-22-generic

When you create new mail and click on the Select Button to choose a contact.
It will have the contacts name but next to it there's no email address. When
you click on contact and click on add as To it will not still add any
address. I went to the KAddress Book and the name and email address is there.

I have 3 IMAP/SMTP e-mail addresses. Two of which are gmail and one
iafrica.com. I have Twelve Contacts with only Name and Email and no other
info.

[Bug 236597] New: add a lock command for messages

2010-05-06 Thread Valter Mura
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236597

Summary: add a lock command for messages
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: valterm...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.2 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

I would like to see, together with other tags for messages, such as mark
read/unread/important/spam and so on, a command to lock / unlock a message,
preserving it from being deleted (usually accidentally).

this should be particularly useful for important messages that users wants to
keep well preserved.

Also, the state of locking could be marked with little icon such as a small
lock... :-)

Best regards

SVN commit 1123737 by tmcguire:

Don't crash in the Knut resource when using the syscoca.

Reason was a dbus timeout.
Now, start klauncher before starting the agents, so that kdeinit and
kded are ready when the agents start.

[Bug 236604] New: icons for contacts with photo are too small in contacts list

2010-05-06 Thread Janet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236604

Summary: icons for contacts with photo are too small in
contacts list
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: bugzi...@kerridis.de
CC: to...@kde.org

Version: 4.4.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-22-generic

There's a small gui bug which makes the contacts' list look a little messy when
some contacts have photos and the icon size for small icons is set to larger
than 16x16: The contacts without photo are shown in the list with the standard
vcard-icon in the size of the small icons, let's say 22x22, and the contacts
containing a photo are shown with the photo in size 16x16. Therefore the list
looks like dancing. The contacts' names are not aligned and the spaces between
the rows differ.

Expected behaviour: The photos also should be scaled to the small icons' size
so that all icons in the list are of the same height and all rows have the same
space between them. When the photos are scaled exactely to small icons' size
the entries in the list would also be aligned properly.

Extra idea: But as the photos are not of same ratio as the standard icons (why
not?) they IMHO should be scaled according to their ratio: height like the
small icons' height and then maybe put onto a white canvas so that the aspect
ratio of the other icons is mimicked while the photos keep their ratio. This
would have the same effect of aligning everything properly but would look nicer
IMHO because faces are not distorted.

[Bug 227546] kmail processes html links incorrectly when receiving mail

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227546

--- Comment #1 from Danny Auble da llnl gov 2010-05-06 21:51:16 ---
This has become very annoying. No url coming into kmail gets processed
correctly when it has a * in the url. Is anyone else seeing this?

You encrypt with the public key of the receiver and sign with your private key.
The receiver decrypts with his private key and checks signature with your
public key. -- KAddressBook Edit Contacts... Crypto Settings

Thank you, i already know how does pgp work.
Tried also in manually setting the key in the addressbook (so boring doing that
for everyone) but it's the same.

Disabling file monitoring is better.
In the configuration window i've noticed that every few seconds it does
checking changes on the file.. Not really an efficient way.

[Bug 236635] New: Doesn't restore draft emails after quit/crash

2010-05-06 Thread Andreas Klöckner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236635

Summary: Doesn't restore draft emails after quit/crash
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.3
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: inf...@tiker.net

Version: 1.13.3 (using KDE 4.4.3)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start composing an email, don't send yet
2. Quit KMail. (via Kontact in my case)
3. Restart KMail. (Kontact, really)
4. Observe that the draft email is not reopened.

In 4.3, KMail used to do this.

This bug has already caused me to lose a number of half-finished emails. :(

[Bug 236652] New: KMail Spam filter puts all mail in the trash

2010-05-06 Thread Jeff
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236652

Summary: KMail Spam filter puts all mail in the trash
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: jeffspl...@live.com

Version: 1.13.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), 4.4.2-2.fc12 Fedora)
Compiler: gcc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32.11-99.fc12.x86_64

In Kmail, using the Kontact interface, I followed Tools/Anti-Spam Wizard. From
there I proceeded to set-up my Spam filter. After following the wizard, I
restarted Kontact. Now, all mail is put in the trash folder. I distinctly
instructed the wizard to place all Spam in the Spam/Certain Folder.

This is annoying as now I still have to manually sift through all mail. All
mail from all accounts is placed into the Trash folder.

I'm sure there must be a configuration file somewhere that would allow me to
make some manual changes, however, I have not been able to find anything that
remotely resembles the configuration file needed.
