[Bug 218590] Kmail re-downloads already downloaded messages from POP3 server

Same here. The last present mail on the server gets redownloaded many times.
This is since the update from kubuntu 9.10 to 10.04, which means, kde 4.4.2
This does not happen with every pop3 account. I have 7 of them (on 2
computers), and only one has that problem. I deleted and reconfigured the
account, and it still has the same problem

[Bug 237917] New: System Tray buttons reference to wrong pages

2010-05-17 Thread Andreas Cord-Landwehr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237917

Summary: System Tray buttons reference to wrong pages
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.3
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: c...@uni-paderborn.de

Version:(using KDE 4.4.3)
Installed from:Debian testing/unstable Packages

I use the system tray buttons for KMail and Akregator, which show that new
mails or RSS feeds arrived. When clicking on them Kontact opens. But the bug is
that clicking one of these buttons leads to the kOrganizer submodule, whereas I
would expect Kmail or Akregator.

Second bug: when Kontact is open and I am not at the Kmail submodule, I would
expect that clicking on the KMail notifier button in system tray would lead to
the KMail submodule, but it simply closes Kontact. Same with Akregator.

Sorry to reopen this bug again, but the bug does as well affect lists where all
members are already in the addressbook.

BTW, When will there be a drag'n drop functionality to maintain lists? or just
something more handy than it is now?

Thx,
axel

Same problem here. May be a duplicate of bug 156292.

My KDE/Kontact packages are compiled with some more debug information, so not
all variables are optimized away in contrast to comment #28

Have the same problem on Kubuntu 10.04 with KDE 4.4.
eGroupware is disappeared al together from the groupware wizard and when
manualy adding a resource.

Groupdav does not work on any resource type (addressbook, calendar or notes)

[Bug 236538] often does not find resource agents on first start of Kontact

2010-05-17 Thread didi.debian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=236538

--- Comment #9 from didi debian cknow org 2010-05-17 12:46:30 ---
I now have a workaround which has worked consistently for me so far, so this
could help in solving this bug.
Before starting Kontact, I start KAddressBook (via KRunner, but I don't think
that's relevant).
When KAddressBook starts up, I see the msg that Akonadi is not operational, but
apparently KAddressBook sees that and starts Akonadi, making my contacts
available shortly thereafter.
Then I close KAddessBook and start Kontact, which now consistently succeeds.

So apparently KAddressBook standalone does something that Kontact does not,
namely noticing Akonadi isn't started and then start it vs merely reporting
that Akonadi doesn't work (and doing nothing about it).

Hope this helps.

[Bug 237927] New: Long URLs are cutted off when containing a hyphen

   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general

ReportedBy: andr...@pietzowski.de

Version:(using KDE 4.4.3)
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

I created an email containing a long URL from Amazon. This URL contained a -
somewhere and kmail used this position to insert a newline. But this happened
after I sent the email.

Example:

http://www.verylong.url/containing-something_for_auto_word_wrap.html

Result in Email after sending:

http://www.verylong.url/containing-
something_for_auto_word_wrap.html

The problem is that you cannot click the link because the second line is not
included in the link. Also the receiver has a problem. Please don't wrap those
URLs.

The accents are still replaced by ? when using Kwrite and Open Office to view

In Open Office the default encoding does not work but I tried selecting

I am reopening this bug because the accents should be displayed properly with

[Bug 218590] Kmail re-downloads already downloaded messages from POP3 server

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218590

--- Comment #6 from Beat Wolf asraniel fryx ch 2010-05-17 20:44:46 ---
I try to give some more details.
The pop3 account of my gf that causes the problem is on the same server as i
have my account. I have no problem.
For her, when clicking on the check server capabilities button when configuring
the server, makes an error message appear that sais that something is not
supported by the server (i don't know the exact wording now, but i think its
related to the UIDL command).
When i do the same, i don't get this error message.
I also checked with telnet, the UIDL command should work, here the output:
UIDL 1
+OK 1 1274105087.M476151P26230.mda99,W=1971

I'm no expert in pop3, but it looks like it works to me.

If i can give any further information, please tell me. I would be happy for any
workaround also. Like disabling the UIDL stuff and just downloading the
messages by date.

I don't know how kmail works, but i guess it uses the CAPA command to find out
what the user offers?

so i did that manualy, here the output (whole connection, sensible information
is replaced with ).

The email should be moved to the outbox and then saved in the sent-mail folder
whereas at the moment the Composer dialogue closes and nothing more seems to
happen.

However, the email is properly sent (I can see it when checking my Imap
resource from a different computer using Kontact 4.4.1 and Kmail 1.13.1).
See bug #237978 for details about not seeing the new email in my Imap resource
inbox from Kontact trunk.

[Bug 237995] New: Default to currently selected account when composing a new message

2010-05-17 Thread John Wheaton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237995

Summary: Default to currently selected account when composing a
new message
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: johnwheat...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-21-generic

I have multiple email accounts that I segregate into different folders.

It would be great if there was a way to be able to identify a folder, or a set
of folders that belong to a specific email account. Then when I click new
message the From could default to the proper account.

Thunderbird does this by separating the accounts. If KMail can do that, I have
yet to figure it out.

I hope I am simply missing a simple feature. That would make this a much
easier FR to fulfill!
