--- Comment #4 from jtscsousa gmail com 2012-02-28 12:11:12 ---
Still present in KDE 4.8.

I have about 7Gb of kmail archives, which I want to import in kmail2 for
reference.

The import progresses and by the time it reaches 11% consumes 5566Mb do Virtual
memory and 2729M of resident memory. This is a 4Gb machine with 4Gb swap, so I
expect the process will be killed soon, like the fist time I tried to convert
the folder.

[Bug 295000] New: KMail dataloss: Incoming EMails are destroyed

2012-02-28 Thread thomas gahr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295000

Summary: KMail dataloss: Incoming EMails are destroyed
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: filtering
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: kde-bugzi...@dadommas.de

Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS:Linux

I hate to be so unspecific but this one is hard to describe.
From time to time - about twice a week I am spammed with messageboxes from
KMail stating Unknown error - No items found. And I find the inbox of one of
my pop3-accounts containing a list of empty emails - (No Subject), unknown
sender, unknown date - as in: completely shredded. I seeem to have lost about
150 mails this way and this really... sucks...
The only thing I see when opening one of these mails is:

X-CRM114-Version: 20100106-BlameMichelson ( TRE 0.8.0 (BSD) ) MR-646709E3
X-CRM114-CacheID: sfid-20120116_225406_819802_58555055
Message-Id: (sfid-20120116_225406_819802_58555055)
X-CRM114-Status: UNSURE ( 0.00 )
X-CRM114-Notice: Please train this message.

It looks like my spam-filter was handed the email already empty.
Unfortunately I have no idea how to reproduce this, it just happens every now
and then.
Any pointer as to how to debug this would be highly appreciated, I want to be
as helpful as possible to track down this bug.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce:
None, happens sporadically.
My mails are eaten.

Expected Results:
My mails should not be eaten.

[Bug 295001] New: Akonadi IMAP agent crash when trying to stop it after network interruption

2012-02-28 Thread Nick Leverton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295001

Summary: Akonadi IMAP agent crash when trying to stop it after
network interruption
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
AssignedTo: er...@kde.org
ReportedBy: n...@leverton.org
CC: vkra...@kde.org, kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Application: akonadi_imap_resource (4.7)
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.4 (4.7.4)
Qt Version: 4.7.4
Operating System: Linux 3.0.0-16-generic-pae i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 11.10

-- Information about the crash:
The IMAP connection had been interrupted by a network outage and I was getting
floods of IMAP connection unavailable notifications from KDE notification
manager (literally, piling up as fast as I could acknowledge them). Closed
kmail but the floods continued, even after IMAP connection was available again.
I used akonadiconsole to try to restart my IMAP agent with no change. Then
selected Abort for the IMAP agent and it crashed.

I've not experienced these symptoms (message floods or akonadi agent crash)
before, despite the network being interrupted twice per day as I take the
laptop between home and work. What was unusual this time was that the local
LAN connection remained up (as the outage was caused by IT department breaking
stuff elsewhere).

[Bug 258551] KMailCVT leaks lots of memory when importing maildir

2012-02-28 Thread jtscsousa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258551

--- Comment #6 from jtscsousa gmail com 2012-02-28 17:32:43 ---
I call kmailcvt directly from the terminal (no kmail nor kontact launched) and
select Import KMail Maildirs and Folder Structure. Then I select a local
folder, press next and select my ~/Mail folder. It starts to run and at about
9-11% stalls and finally is killed by the kernel for filling up both ram and
swap.

The only notice on the terminal is a simple 'killed'.

Superficial verification of imported mail and folders indicates the the process
was progressing fine until killed.

I have this type of filter that on detection of [Généalogie] must move
received messages and sent messages that contain [Généalogie] in subject in a
dedicated folder : no problem with received messages but this time on sent
messages I received a notitication saying that the sent message (where the
filter is applicable) was correctly moved to the dedicated folder but the it
was moved back in sent-messages folder. If the I apply manually the filter
to the message located in sent-messages folder it is coorectly moved to the
dedicated folder as supposed to be done from the very beginning.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- build a filter acting on both sent and received messages that moves messages
containing [Généalogie] in subject by moving messages to a dedicated folder.
- send a dummy message with [Généalogie] in subject

Actual Results:
message stays in sent-messages folder

[Bug 294320] kmail complains about the semantic destkop not running, when it is

2012-02-28 Thread Darin McBride
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294320

--- Comment #3 from Darin McBride Tanktalus gmail com 2012-02-28 17:48:39 ---
I've gone into the nepomuk controller, disabled semantic desktop, hit apply
(and noticed virtuoso_t disappear), and then re-enabled. And now the problem
is gone away.

So the bug is that somehow the detection code loses track of virtuoso_t -
whether that's a bug in the initialized method or it's a
hang/non-responsiveness of virtuoso_t, I don't have any idea. We'll see if it
comes back.

[Bug 295000] KMail dataloss: Incoming EMails are destroyed

Well, I have been able to sorta reproduce the No items found error message,
but the method is quite unorthodox, you have to be fast ;)
The situation: create a folder and move a bunch of mails there. Before doing so
try to put the system under load so the moving will take a little longer - i.e.
akonadi(?) needs to be slow. This way, if you're fast enough, you can issue the
move command a second time while the messages are still in their old folder. In
other words: create two overlapping move actions for the same message(s).
This way I got the No items found error to appear.
No luck on getting emails eaten though.

[Bug 295000] KMail dataloss: Incoming EMails are destroyed

2012-02-28 Thread thomas gahr

...oh, even better:
Create a filter without conditions and configure it to not be included in
automatic filtering of any sort. Set the action to move into some temporary
folder. Assign a shortcut to it so it can be issued quickly.
Then select some mails and trigger the shortcut twice in a row. This will bring
the No items found error quite reliably.
Hope this helps some dev to maybe narrow this down.

[Bug 295032] New: KMail complains about conflict when sending a mail to a message list I'm subscribed to

2012-02-28 Thread Marcus Harrison
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295032

Summary: KMail complains about conflict when sending a mail to
a message list I'm subscribed to
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mar...@harrisonland.co.uk

Version: 1.99.0
OS:Linux

I have KMail configured so that my accounts all use their own Inbox folder as
their, Sent Messages folder, so as soon as an E-mail is sent it is sent to my
Inbox. This is for clarity when reading threaded E-mail conversations.

However, this presents a problem when sending E-mail to a mailing list that I'm
subscribed to - as both the E-mail I have just sent and the new E-mail coming
in from the mailing list both go to my Inbox, it results in a conflict between
the two messages every single time.

This could potentially happen with, Keep Replies in This Folder option
selected on the Inbox (or another folder if you're using E-mail filters) as
well.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a new message to the KDE-PIM mailing list (if you are subscribed) or
alternatively, to the same E-mail address as you are sending it from
2. Click View -- Sent-Mail Folder and select your current inbox as the
sent-mail folder
3. Write yourself a nice message. Put a smiley face on the end.
4. Send it
5. If necessary, click Check Mail or right-click on your inbox and click
Update Folder (I didn't find this necessary)

Actual Results:
A nasty pop-up box about resolving conflicts pops up.

Expected Results:
The Inbox folder should display both messages as separate and distinct objects.

[Bug 295043] New: openpgp signature of expired key is shown as invalid

2012-02-28 Thread Hauke Laging
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295043

Summary: openpgp signature of expired key is shown as invalid
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: crypto
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ha...@laging.de

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS:Linux

After the expiration of the signing key the signature is shown as invalid. Not
even the details give any hint to the real problem. Even worse: It is as far as
I can see exactly the same behaviour like with a bad signature.

GnuPG knows these statuses for signatures (see
/usr/share/doc/packages/gpg2/DETAILS):
GOODSIG
EXPSIG
EXPKEYSIG
REVKEYSIG
BADSIG
ERRSIG
VALIDSIG

It seems to me that kmail tells apart only GOODSIG on the one hand and the rest
on the other. And for the first case the different TRUST_* levels.

I think this can be considered a bug.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Click on the mail.

Expected Results:
EXPSIG and EXPKEYSIG should be treated like the combination
GOODSIG/TRUST_UNDEFINED i.e. show the mail border in yellow and tell the user
about the problem in the details section.
