[Bug 295726] kmail crashes every now and then during checking mails

Can you open the system monitor before starting KMail and check the memory
consumption of it after its start? If it tries to grab all available memory and
finally crashes, you're probably facing the consequences of a filter bug of the
old version described in bug 289277. You might have now mails in your folders
each with 100MB and more and KMail simply runs out of resources now.

[Bug 296944] New: Possible data loss if the destination folder doesn't exists

2012-03-28 Thread Alex Fiestas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=296944

Bug ID: 296944
  Severity: critical
   Version: 4.8
  Priority: NOR
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org
  Assignee: to...@kde.org
Summary: Possible data loss if the destination folder doesn't
exists
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: afies...@kde.org
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
 Component: Contacts resource
   Product: Akonadi

If for some reason (like what seems a bug in the distribution) the destination
folder does not exists, KaddressBook (and the resource) will allow the creation
of contacts and they will be stored in the akonadi cache.

Akonadi won't be able to synchronize the data since the folder does not exits
in case that something happens to the mysql databse (or in case that we change
to another database) we will suffer data loss :/

Maybe we should turn the resource offline in case that the folder does not
exists or force the user to select another folder.

Hi

The list that show all folders by default has enabled all columns, which are:
Unread
Total
Size

All of them can be hidden by default in my humble opinion, he only important
one is Unread but we already have a fallback method in case that the column
is hidden showing the number of unread emails just after the folder name (as
many other modern email client do).

[Bug 193969] Open tabs so unnecessary for files

--- Comment #2 from Graeme Hewson ghew...@wormhole.me.uk ---
I confirm this bug in Akregator 4.7.3. In an RSS article with a download (I
subscribe to a number of podcasts), Akregator shows a link to the enclosure.
Clicking on this link opens a new, blank, untitled tab and a popup to download,
open with Amarok, etc. Afterwards the tab stays, and it's necessary to close it
manually. The blank tab (or tabs) even remain if Akregator is stopped and
restarted.

This is a regression from Akregator 1.2.9, which didn't open a blank tab when
downloading files.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259039

--- Comment #7 from csbugs b...@clearingstelle-eeg.de ---
Well, FWIW:
Initially I thought KMail would simply interpret the CLI input as latin-1 or
similar, because Beste Grüße became Beste Grüße.
But when I do something like
$ body=$(echo Beste Grüße|iconv -f utf8 -t iso8859-1)
$ echo $body
Beste Gre
$ kmail --body $body someb...@somewhere.tld
I get the following in the mail body:
Beste Gre

So I can't even work around this bug in scripts - and that *is* bad news.

CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: akonadi kolabproxy crash after editing a calendar
event
Classification: Unclassified
