[Bug 309732] New: memory leak in kmail and virtuoso
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309732 Bug ID: 309732 Severity: normal Version: 4.9.2 Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: memory leak in kmail and virtuoso Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: martin.tlus...@gmail.com Hardware: Ubuntu Packages Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: general Product: kmail2 after stopping nepomuk services and re-enabling them, kmail and virtuoso start to eat up memory (kmail both extra and within kontact). Virtuose takes twice the size I set it to (will file an extra bug report on that), kmail slowly keeps on rising in memory usage every time I switch folders, open a new email, write or the like. It starts around 23MB and rose to over 120MB, if embedded in kontact, it rose to over 220MB before I ended it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start kmail 2. work 3. see memory usage rise Actual Results: memory usage rises slowly Expected Results: should stop after some time. Some growth is normal, but not that much. It probably mainly is a problem with nepomuk (surprise, surprise!), as I started to see this behaviour after I stopped and re-enabled nepomuk services. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

Archlinux use systemd now as default system init. My systemd configuration seems good. I got no errors or other troubleshooting in my system, except with akonadi. So what happen. Sometimes my calendar events are not displayed in korganizer. Kmail can't load email messages. Today I can not delete message. When I try to delete a message from my imap inbox, kmail said it is not possible to move email (translation from french message not the real english warning). I have problem with my contacts. I recently add contacts in kaddressbook and if I try to use kmail autocomplete in recipient input, old contacts appear but not the new ones. So today I search about this problem. An advice is to delete .local/share/akonadi folder from your home. I did it but when I started akonadi I have always the same problem with mysql. I attached the 2 errors log file. I believe KMail should not close completely if the Only show KMail in system tray if there are unread messages option is checked but should remain in the systray (hidden) so that new email may be notified. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Check the Only show KMail in system tray if there are unread messages option in KMail - Settings - Appearance System Tray 2. Make sure there are no unread emails 3. Close Kmail Actual Results: The KMail icon disappears and the app is now completely closed, no new email will be notified until the main app is reopened Expected Results: The KMail icon should remain hidden in the systray and the app should not completely close, as it happens when the Always show kmail in system tray is checked. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 309788] New: IMAP crash when returning to this session from another session, after certificate issue
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309788 Bug ID: 309788 Severity: crash Version: 4.9 Priority: NOR CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org Assignee: er...@kde.org Summary: IMAP crash when returning to this session from another session, after certificate issue Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: k...@healingpeople.org Hardware: Ubuntu Packages Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: IMAP resource Product: Akonadi Application: akonadi_imap_resource (4.9) KDE Platform Version: 4.9.2 Qt Version: 4.8.2 Operating System: Linux 3.2.0-33-generic-pae i686 Distribution: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS -- Information about the crash: 0. I run two kde user sessions in parallel. 1. Switched to current session from the other kde user session (using Switch User button on panel) 2. Got a certificate error from KDE (see below). Might be a time-out issue?? 3. Asked it to remember the certificate forever 4. IMAP crashed straight afterwards, causing bug report - Unusual behavior I noticed: I seem to have frequent problems with server certificates when switching between user sessions. It comes up with the same error dialog (accept certificate forever, etc). I select Forever, but its certainly not forever as it keeps reoccuring in the exactly same way. This same problem keeps happening every so often (ranging from once a day or more, up to a few times a week on a good week). - Other: Seems to related to bug report # 302,459 (IMAP dialog timeouts) but not exactly the same. So both might have a similar root cause? The crash can be reproduced some of the time. -- Backtrace: Application: Mobility Express of type IMAP E-Mail Server (akonadi_imap_resource), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1.
