[Bug 289734] KMail did not show the body of old E-Mails in cashed IMAP folder

Same problem here, with OpenSuSE 12.2 and kdepim4-4.9.3-361.1.x86_64.
I tried changing the account settings to disable the offline mode but the issue
persisted.

When selecting the email, the preview pane quickly flashes a message (probably
telling it is trying to fetch the mail, but I don't have the time to read it),
then shows a blank message.
Displaying the message's source only shows the headers.

When KMail is running, if one adds a none-mail-related Akonadi resource, the
display of KMail's folder list is corrupted. Restarting KMail resolves the
issue. No other features (filters, special folder settings) are affected.

--- Comment #57 from Alexandre Bonneau alexandre.bonn...@linuxfr.eu ---
After one week of intense testing, I see no more 17-duplicates happening,
which make Kmail usable one again, nice work there !

I did see once Kmail duplicate 2 mails with 1 clone each. The cloned mails
shows no content, only headers, and unfortunately I realized that after
deleting the good mails.
I use IMAP + Maildir.

As I said, I saw the behavior only one in one week, So...so far so good.

Bug ID: 310403
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.9.3

Summary: empty line is added before signature in HTML
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: silver.salo...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

I have configured my signature to be HTML. My reply template is:
--
%CURSOR

--
%SIGNATURE
--

Every time my signature is used in HTML-reply, there is an empty line added
between '--' and my signature. If the reply is plain text, signature starts
right after '--'.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add HTML-signature for an identity
2. Configure custom reply template, adding %SIGNATURE in there
3. Reply to HTML-email, using HTML as well
Actual Results:
There's an empty line before the signature

Expected Results:
There should be no empty line

Sometimes my signature is not used in HTML, although the reply itself seems to
be HTML (option Formatting (HTML) is enabled). In this case there's no empty
line either.

I re-edited my HTML-signature in 'emailidentities' file by hand - deleted all
unnecessary HTML-code and it seemed to fix it. The empty line is gone after I
took the signature out of separate paragraph (p/p). The HTML-code had gone
there by copy-pasting the same signature from one place to another.

Anyhow, maybe KMail should handle HTML-signature more carefully, eg. delete
some unnecessary tags upon saving it? HTML-code editor directly in the identity
configurator would also help a bit..

--- Comment #2 from Axel Braun axel.br...@gmx.de ---
OK, I try to explain more verbose:
A is the default persona, using the mailaccount a...@mail.com, and the transport
mode A (which is the default as well)
B is another persona, using the mailaccount b...@mail.com, and the transport
mode
B (which is defined in the persona)
Both accounts are IMAP with separate folders. The default settings for the
inbox of b...@mail.com is 'use persona B'
B receives an invitation from external, probably from an exchange account. B
accepts the invitation, KMail sends an acknowledgment to the invitor.
Result: Mail is stuck in outbox. When opening, you find that the mail is from
Persona B with the transport mode A.
If this does not explain...sent me a PM to set-up a test scenario

[Bug 310409] New: Kontact crashed when moving folders imported from Thunderbird

2012-11-20 Thread Steve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310409

Bug ID: 310409
  Severity: crash
   Version: unspecified
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Kontact crashed when moving folders imported from
Thunderbird
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: stev...@sprynet.com
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: general
   Product: kontact

Application: kontact (4.8.5)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.5 (4.8.5)
Qt Version: 4.8.1
Operating System: Linux 3.2.0-33-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I had imported mail from Thunderbird, about 40,000 messages or so in many
folders with subfolders. This went fine. Then I got mail from my POP3 servers.
I waited overnight for everything to settle down, since virtuoso-t (I think)
was using 100% of one of my CPU cores. In the morning, the system was quiet.

Then I moved the imported mail from the imported inbox to the KMail inbox, from
the imported sent folder to KMail sent folder, from imported trash to KMail
trash, and from imported drafts to KMail drafts. I deleted all the imported
folders that I had just emptied. All that went fine.

Then I selected the rest of the imported folders that hadn't been emptied and
dragged them to Local Folders and selected move. The CPU went crazy again,
which I thought was normal with KMail, and KMail didn't respond, so I went away
and ate breakfast. When I came back, Kontact had crashed.

This seems closest to bug 304324, which has been closed and marked as fixed,
but the other bug I listed seems like a close match, too.

When I reopened Kontact, all the folders have apparently been moved
successfully as I requested. Perhaps it just needs a better notification that
the job is done than crashing the application? (Just kidding, a little
developer humor there.)

[Bug 310409] Kontact crashed when moving folders imported from Thunderbird

2012-11-20 Thread Steve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310409

--- Comment #2 from Steve stev...@sprynet.com ---
When I click on one of the many folders I imported and then moved all at once,
I get a notification pop-up that says something like:

Local Folders
Local Folders: Maildir
'/home/userid/.local/share/local-mail/.Import.directory/.Thunderbird-Import.directory/Car'
for collection 'Car' is invalid.

Import is the directory I created to import the mail from Thunderbird into.
This import was done from Import Messages in the File menu. All the e-mails
are displayed correctly, and when I click on them, I see their contents in the
preview pane, but I also sometimes get this notification pop-up:

Local Folders
Local Folders: Error opening
/home/userid/.local/share/local-mail/.Import.directory/.Thunderbird-Import.directory/Car;
this folder is missing.

However, when I click on most of the messages in the sent-mail folder, which I
imported from Thunderbird, I don't get a notification pop-up, but I don't see
the contents of the message in the preview pane or when I double-click to open
the message, either. I see the From, To, and Date headers, but not the body of
the message.

switch folders, no matter how many times I delete them, and I get tons of

The type of resource, as listed in akonadiconsole, is “maildir”, by the way.

I still have the problem described in Comment 54 in KDE 4.9.3. Maildir, POP3. I
have three messages that keep appearing in inbox every time I try to move, mark
as read, or delete them. I also get a ton of “Maildir '' for collection '' is
invalid” when I change folders. Anything I can do to try to figure out what's
going on?

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288020

--- Comment #10 from András Manţia aman...@kde.org ---
It looks either your akonadi database is corrupted or something really
unexpected happens. Can you check what goes on on the disk? Locate your maildir
folder on the disk (see the configuration of your maildir account). Check that
the folder and the subfolders are writable for you.
Then check when a new mail appears, what goes on. It should first appear in the
new folder under inbox. When you read it, it should be moved to the cur
folder (and an ,S appended to the filename). Check if:
- the mail is moved
- the flags is correctly appended

Check also what goes on when you delete a mail (it should be deleted from the
disk).

Even more, run kdebugdialog in a konsole and disable all debug areas then
enable the debug areas for akonadiserver and folder the
akonadi_maildir_resourceX (X depends on your system, can be 0,1, etc.), then
restart akonadi in that konsole (akonadictl restart) and save the log what
happens when you read a mail and when you delete one.

After receiving the mails they are definitly gone. It's an akonadi problem.

--- Comment #13 from Travis Evans travisgev...@gmail.com ---
My local folders location shows up as ~/.local/share/local-mail. But there's
nothing there except three empty folders, cur, new, and tmp. I do have ability
to write to those locations. I do see some sort of directory structure in
~/.local/.local-mail.directory that mirrors my mail folders, though.

All the folders were created using the File Import messages tool to import
from KDE 3's kmail maildirs.

--- Comment #14 from András Manţia aman...@kde.org ---
Travis: for you a solution would be to get rid of the current maildir resource
and add back again. Just delete the local account from KMail account settings
and add back again pointing to the ~/.local/.local-mail.directory. Do it ONLY
AFTER you are sure all your mails are indeed in THAT directory.
That would not tell us what the bug was (for that you'd need to do what I
wrote and try to find out where your mails are and what happens with them).
The information of using File-IMport messages is important, thanks for that,
we should check how that works (I never used it myself).

[Bug 151853] kmail looks only in nonlocal wallet?

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151853

--- Comment #6 from michael reeves...@gmail.com ---
How is configurate your kwallet etc ?
I have two wallets one the local wallet set to kdewallet which has no
password. However,
the default is set to webstore which requires a password.

What do you do ?
I moved the kmail, mailtrasports and pop3 folders from webstore to
kdewallet.

What do you expect ?
kmail should still remember the passwords. Instead it asks for the mail server
password.

[Bug 288020] Downloaded mails keeps reappearing in the folder

2012-11-20 Thread Travis Evans
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288020

--- Comment #15 from Travis Evans travisgev...@gmail.com ---
I seem to have made a mistake—the alternative folder I mentioned was apparently
actually a leftover from back when I installed my current distro and was trying
unsuccessfully to get kmail2 working (last modified dates are a long time ago).
But I think my real emails are in ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory (last
modified dates a few hours ago). But many directories appear to be missing,
particularly the ones I seem to be having trouble with. I tried creating a
couple of new directories to see what happens, and those directories did show
up in this location. I'll have to do some investigation to see where the
messages actually are and what the akonadi debug logs say.

2012-11-20 Thread Travis Evans
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288020

--- Comment #16 from Travis Evans travisgev...@gmail.com ---
The missing directories in the filesystem are the ones created by the import
tool. The only directories that are there are the ones I manually created in
kmail2's main GUI. I cannot figure out where in the filesystem the imported
email directories are other than their original location used by the old kmail.

Would it work to try manually copying the original maildirs over to the new
location? Or has the format changed from kmail to kmail2?

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288020

--- Comment #17 from András Manţia aman...@kde.org ---
If the old KMail used the standard maildir and not the mix of maildir + mbox
folders, copying over should work.
Still, I'd need some clarifications before you do: how did you imported your
old mails? Folder by folder or pointing to the toplevel mail folder?
You mean that all folders (and mails in them) imported are visible in KMail,
but are not in the ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory ? That sounds like the
import failed and the mails are in the akonadi cache, but not on the filesystem
(and would explain all kind of weird behavior).

I pointed it to the top level folder and had it import all in one go. The only
error I got was regarding one of the tmp directories, but I don't remember
which one or what the error was exactly. I got no errors for everything else.
Yes, the imported emails are all visible in Kmail2 but apparently not in the
directory in the filesystem.

Which exact Kmail version is this report about and is this reproducible with
version 4.8.5 or later? Please set the version field accordingly.

I have the same problem on openSUSE Tumbleweed, i. e. Kmail version 4.9.3. It
is very easy to check if this bug is on ones machine as Basia describes it. It
is always reproducible.

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

I am also experiencing this bug using Windows 7 (x64). I am not using a
smartcard, but have my private key set-up with a subkey for signing. When I
sign a file and verify it using Kleopatra the GUI indicates that the file has
been verified and signed by an unknown certificate.

If the command line interface is used to verify the file it returns the proper
name and email for the signing key.

I would like to keep using a subkey for signing to protect my private key, but
I am worried this incompatibility might confuse others.

I suspect if you try to verify this message with kleopatra it will return the
same error/bug.

[Bug 310428] New: Problem with adding and removing identities

2012-11-20 Thread Pal Körössy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310428

Bug ID: 310428
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.9.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Problem with adding and removing identities
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: koross...@freemail.hu
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: config dialog
   Product: kmail2

A few days ago I added a new identity in KMals config dialog Identity settings.
Shortly after that I deleted that identity and realised that some (5 or 6) new
'Unnamed' identity was created. Tried to remove them but the number of Unnamed
identities are doubled to 10-12. If I try to remove any of them, twice of the
removed Unnamed identities is created so now I have about 30 of them.
I haven't experienced this problem before or in my other computer configured
with the same settings.
Since then I'm having the following problem too:
If I compose a mail with the default identity that has a signature configured,
no signature is inserted into the message body at all.

Reproducible: Always
