Bug ID: 311507
  Severity: wishlist
   Version: 4.9
  Priority: NOR
CC: to...@kde.org
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
   Summary: label printing
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: martin.tlus...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: printing
   Product: kaddressbook

It would be nice to be able to print to labels right from within kaddressbook.
Right now I have to export the addresses to a csv file and then print from
glabels.

Reproducible: Always

For example one of gmail accounts uses 7M of 10320M space, there was mails in
[Gmail]/Sent folder but even after I removed all mails it remains red.

kmail version : 4.8.5
in account / receive / modify / advanced tab, 'enable imap idle' is translated
to '启用离线模式', i think this is a bad translation.
when imap idle is working, there must be a long connection established between
the client and server. this is not called 离线模式. i spent several hours to
explore why imap idle is not working in kmail because of this translation.
i think 启用IMAP IDLE特性 or even 启用IMAP邮件推送 is better. most of normal users
don't know and dont care the differnce between imap idle and push mail.

When you open the Serverside subscription by right clicking an account name
in the left panel, it opens in the background, so you have to click its name in
the Task Manager to bring it up.
in 4.10 it's not in background.

Btw the title of the dialog is Serverside subscription..., that ellipsis
should not be there in the dialog title. was fixed in 4.10

It seems that it occurs for all imap accounts, not only gmail one.
As a workaround, I'm using custom colors in KMail settings.

The behaviour seems a lot like concurrency and / or locking problems between

Which color do you change in custom colors to avoid it ?

Folder name and size when close to quota.
Before changing that setting I checked possible quota limits.

Folder name ?
size when close to quota what was size in % before and after ?

Because it's right I fixed a bug when we don't use custom color it doesn't show
quota info.
it's was already 100% = never show when we don't use custom color.
But if it works in custom color after when you disable it it will work too.

[Bug 306034] Kmail-4.8.3 does not select the relevant account when replying to a message

2012-12-11 Thread Christian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306034

--- Comment #8 from Christian joulupukin.ton...@yandex.ru ---
I think the behaviour that I meant to report when starting this bug was because
of bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=299270 - that bug is still present.
However, good to know that something else relating to this behaviour has
already been fixed (Comment 3 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306034#c3).

[Bug 311541] New: Improved wrapping and handling of the message quote marker

2012-12-11 Thread Christian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311541

Bug ID: 311541
  Severity: wishlist
   Version: 4.9.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Improved wrapping and handling of the message quote
marker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: joulupukin.ton...@yandex.ru
  Hardware: Gentoo Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

This may be related to bug 271000, but it is a different suggestion (because I
am not familiar with KNode).
In the Standard templates, there is only one setting for Quote marker (I
think the default is or ). However, this is unsatisfactory because it
doesn't distinguish clearly the marker from where the text starts. E.g., if you
set it to and reply to a reply, the lines start like this

This is the original text
of my message...

Or if you set it to and reply to a reply, the lines start like this
  This is the original text
  of my message...

With both options, eventually there will be line breaks that mess up the
system.

If you add the following setting: Include space between quote marker and
message? (yes/no), then you can have the quote marker set to and you can
get the following:
 This is the original
 text of the message...

(I think it should be the default that the space is present after the markers,
but not between markers.)
It would be easy to organise the wrapping (i.e., to add a marker, first strip
all the markers, counting how many, then rewrap it to have space on the line
for an additional marker at the start, then prepend the markers). When the text
is indented the first time, two places have to be removed from the width
allocated to the text, one for the marker and one for the space. For every
subsequent indentation, only one place is removed.

It would greatly help implement a reasonable line wrapping, because it becomes
clear where the original text starts. (That is, after the space that follows
the markers.) As an advanced technique on rewrapping, it would be nice to
program so that spurious spaces between the markers are also removed
automatically, but this is optional.

What do you think, is this idea expressed sufficiently clearly for a clever
programmer to implement that?

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm the bug for 4.9

This bug may cause trouble for other mail client. It seems that Outlook and
Lotus Notes have cant interpret / display kmail generated messages with a
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable in the message header.

I can add that this bug holds recent Thunderbird versions with Enigmail (TB 17,
enigmail 1.4.6) off from decrypting OpenPGP/MIME encrypted emails sent by
kmail2.

[Bug 311542] New: Same SQL queries performed multiple times when fetching one email

2012-12-11 Thread Alex Richardson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311542

Bug ID: 311542
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.10
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Same SQL queries performed multiple times when
fetching one email
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: arichardson@googlemail.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: NEW
 Component: general
   Product: Akonadi

I enabled logging SQL queries for MySQL and saw that whenever I click on an
email in kontact lots of SQL queries are being performed. After looking at the
log I saw that they were also very similar/identical.
There is only one unique SELECT, the others are being performed at least twice.
Also atime ist updated three times (Also why is this stored anyway? I don't see
any reason for it, but I may be wrong)

The attached files contain the log for opening one email

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an email in kontact
2. View MySQL log file
Actual Results:
Duplicate queries

Expected Results:
Every query should only be performed once

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311542

--- Comment #3 from Alex Richardson arichardson@googlemail.com ---
Also the queries in line 5 and 6 of the filtered log could be merged into one:

... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name IN ( 'PLD:RFC822', 'COLLECTIONID',
'ATR:ErrorAttribute' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'PLD:' ) OR
substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 )
) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC

... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name IN ( 'PLD:RFC822', 'COLLECTIONID', 'PLD:HEAD' ) OR
substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'PLD:' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) =
( 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC

The only difference is the third item in the IN (...) clause.

It could be simplified to

... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name = 'COLLECTIONID' OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 )
= ( 'PLD:' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'ATR:' ) ) AND (
PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC

Or maybe even
... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name = 'COLLECTIONID' OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 )
IN ( 'PLD:', 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY
PimItemTable.id DESC

which is more readable and could also be faster.

[Bug 310899] Resource KMail Folders is broken. This resource is now online

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310899

--- Comment #2 from Neil hispeed...@gmail.com ---
I was actually thinking that it's possible any testing that may have been done
on this was done on a computer with a solid-state drive so it handles the
massive overhead better. My computer isn't brand new but it's got enough
horsepower to reliably run everything i've thrown at it (except kmail2
obviously) including some of the latest games.
Either way i'm not having much luck troubleshooting. I tried using Thunderbird
to open my big/old MBOX files and it works fine so the problem isn't corrupted
files.

Anybody have any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

Bug ID: 311550
  Severity: major
   Version: 4.9.4
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: KMail2 don't ask for authentication after first start
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: regi.h...@gmx.net
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: general
   Product: kmail2

KMail2 / Kontact only ask me once for the KWallet password when I start it
first after login to KDE.
All subsequent shutdown/starts of KMail2 don't ask me ever for a password
again.
Even if all wallets are closed, and after hours not using KMail2 and not
connected to any IMAP-Resource.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start KMail2/Kontact
2. Login to IMAP-Server using KWallet password
3. Shutdown KMail2/Kontact
4. All IMAP-Resources are offline
5. Close all open wallets
6. Start KMail2/Kontact

Actual Results:
KMail2/Kontact connects to all IMAP-Resources without asking for a password

Expected Results:
KMail2/Kontact should ask for the password

I configured the Akonadi-IMAP-Resource to go offline when KMail2/Kontact will
be shutdown.
KWallet closes automatically when no application is accessing it, but at least
after 30 minutes.

When shutdown KMail2/Kontact all wallets are closed correctly.
Starting KMail2/Kontact again (even after a few hours), it never ask for the
KWallet password and silently connects to all configured IMAP-Resources.

You need to logout from KDE and login again, to make KMail2/Kontact forget
about the login credentials.
