[Bug 311541] New: Improved wrapping and handling of the message quote marker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311541 Bug ID: 311541 Severity: wishlist Version: 4.9.3 Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: Improved wrapping and handling of the message quote marker Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: joulupukin.ton...@yandex.ru Hardware: Gentoo Packages Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: composer Product: kmail2 This may be related to bug 271000, but it is a different suggestion (because I am not familiar with KNode). In the Standard templates, there is only one setting for Quote marker (I think the default is or ). However, this is unsatisfactory because it doesn't distinguish clearly the marker from where the text starts. E.g., if you set it to and reply to a reply, the lines start like this This is the original text of my message... Or if you set it to and reply to a reply, the lines start like this This is the original text of my message... With both options, eventually there will be line breaks that mess up the system. If you add the following setting: Include space between quote marker and message? (yes/no), then you can have the quote marker set to and you can get the following: This is the original text of the message... (I think it should be the default that the space is present after the markers, but not between markers.) It would be easy to organise the wrapping (i.e., to add a marker, first strip all the markers, counting how many, then rewrap it to have space on the line for an additional marker at the start, then prepend the markers). When the text is indented the first time, two places have to be removed from the width allocated to the text, one for the marker and one for the space. For every subsequent indentation, only one place is removed. It would greatly help implement a reasonable line wrapping, because it becomes clear where the original text starts. (That is, after the space that follows the markers.) As an advanced technique on rewrapping, it would be nice to program so that spurious spaces between the markers are also removed automatically, but this is optional. What do you think, is this idea expressed sufficiently clearly for a clever programmer to implement that? [Bug 311542] Same SQL queries performed multiple times when fetching one email
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311542 --- Comment #3 from Alex Richardson arichardson@googlemail.com --- Also the queries in line 5 and 6 of the filtered log could be merged into one: ... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name IN ( 'PLD:RFC822', 'COLLECTIONID', 'ATR:ErrorAttribute' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'PLD:' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC ... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name IN ( 'PLD:RFC822', 'COLLECTIONID', 'PLD:HEAD' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'PLD:' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC The only difference is the third item in the IN (...) clause. It could be simplified to ... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name = 'COLLECTIONID' OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'PLD:' ) OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) = ( 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC Or maybe even ... WHERE ( ( PartTable.name = 'COLLECTIONID' OR substr( PartTable.name, 1, 4 ) IN ( 'PLD:', 'ATR:' ) ) AND ( PimItemTable.id = 148263 ) ) ORDER BY PimItemTable.id DESC which is more readable and could also be faster. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 310899] Resource KMail Folders is broken. This resource is now online
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310899 --- Comment #2 from Neil hispeed...@gmail.com --- I was actually thinking that it's possible any testing that may have been done on this was done on a computer with a solid-state drive so it handles the massive overhead better. My computer isn't brand new but it's got enough horsepower to reliably run everything i've thrown at it (except kmail2 obviously) including some of the latest games. Either way i'm not having much luck troubleshooting. I tried using Thunderbird to open my big/old MBOX files and it works fine so the problem isn't corrupted files. Anybody have any ideas how to troubleshoot this? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 311550] New: KMail2 don't ask for authentication after first start
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311550 Bug ID: 311550 Severity: major Version: 4.9.4 Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: KMail2 don't ask for authentication after first start Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: regi.h...@gmx.net Hardware: openSUSE RPMs Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: general Product: kmail2 KMail2 / Kontact only ask me once for the KWallet password when I start it first after login to KDE. All subsequent shutdown/starts of KMail2 don't ask me ever for a password again. Even if all wallets are closed, and after hours not using KMail2 and not connected to any IMAP-Resource. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start KMail2/Kontact 2. Login to IMAP-Server using KWallet password 3. Shutdown KMail2/Kontact 4. All IMAP-Resources are offline 5. Close all open wallets 6. Start KMail2/Kontact Actual Results: KMail2/Kontact connects to all IMAP-Resources without asking for a password Expected Results: KMail2/Kontact should ask for the password I configured the Akonadi-IMAP-Resource to go offline when KMail2/Kontact will be shutdown. KWallet closes automatically when no application is accessing it, but at least after 30 minutes. When shutdown KMail2/Kontact all wallets are closed correctly. Starting KMail2/Kontact again (even after a few hours), it never ask for the KWallet password and silently connects to all configured IMAP-Resources. You need to logout from KDE and login again, to make KMail2/Kontact forget about the login credentials. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
