[kmail2] [Bug 323398] New: KMail2 doesn't update the Inbox email list on arrival of new email

2013-08-12 Thread Rohan Garg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323398

Bug ID: 323398
Summary: KMail2 doesn't update the Inbox email list on arrival
of new email
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.11 rc2
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: rohang...@kubuntu.org

I recently started using kmail and when I get a notification on the desktop
about new email I open kmail to check my mail, except it still shows the old
emails and does not refresh the email list to show the latest emails.

Even refreshing the folder doesn't give me the latest emails in the UI.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get notifications about new email
2. Open KMail
3. UI still lists emails from yesterday
Actual Results:
UI is not updated to show latest emails

Expected Results:
UI should show latest emails when the user is notified of new emails

Workaround :
I can workaround the bug by clicking on the name I have given to the IMAP
connection in the ui and then clicking on Inbox

[kmail2] [Bug 323399] New: Closing kmail does not exit, crash on new start

2013-08-12 Thread Volker Kuhlmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323399

Bug ID: 323399
Summary: Closing kmail does not exit, crash on new start
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: list0...@paradise.net.nz

Application: kmail (4.10.5)
KDE Platform Version: 4.10.5 release 1
Qt Version: 4.8.4
Operating System: Linux 3.7.10-1.16-desktop x86_64
Distribution: openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64)

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Exited kmail with ^Q intentionally, but the process didn't exit.

Then I noticed I still had a composition window open - oops. I finished that
email and sent it - the notice in the Notifications was that it was
successfully sent. I was then expecting the kmail process to exit.

When it didn't, I started another kmail, and got drkon

It appears the newly started kmail crashed.

[kmail2] [Bug 292418] Kmail can't create IMAP top level folders

2013-08-12 Thread Timothy Murphy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292418

--- Comment #33 from Timothy Murphy gayle...@eircom.net ---
No thank you.
I am running Fedora-19/KDE on my laptop rose,
and CentOS-6.4 on my server alfred.
I am running a dovecot/IMAP server on alfred,
with email coming from various sources.

I find that now I can create a top-level KMail folder on alfred,
which is visible on rose (after re-booting).
This fulfils all my needs.

However, there are problems trying to create
a top-level KMail folder on my laptop.
I am apparently allowed to do this,
and if I do the folder is visible on my server,
but not on my laptop.
I receive repeated messages on my laptop
that it is unable to create a resource.
I have to delete the new folder on my server
to stop these messages.

However, as I said this is not a problem for me,
as there is a viable alternative.

[kmail2] [Bug 323416] New: Forward or Reply doesn't cite the whole content of the original message

2013-08-12 Thread piedro
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323416

Bug ID: 323416
Summary: Forward or Reply doesn't cite the whole content of
the original message
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: piedro.kul...@googlemail.com

When I reply to a message that includes any image the reply or Forward
function doesn't cite the whole message. The citation stops exactly at the
point where an image file was inserted in the original message:

a message like:

bla bla bla
bla inserted image bla
bla bla bla

greetings,
blabla

gets cited as:

 bla bla bla
  bla

and that's it.

The serious problem is that if a message starts with a logo or background image
(as many do) nothing gets cited at all.

Also it seems to me that this leads to empty mails when a filter like
spamassassin for example manipulates the header.

These mails are marked as non html mail but I wonder whether this is correct
(can you insert an image in a pure text mail?)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. receive a mail with image
2. press reply or forward
3. check the inline citation of the message with the original message
Actual Results:
everything behind the image is missing

Expected Results:
nothing should be missing, at most there should be a placeholder or marker at
the image position

funny thing is that just sometimes it works as expected with the same mail it
hasn't worked correctly before ... I have no lue how this could be ...

thx for reading,
piedro

I can reproduce this with kmail 4.10.5 if I have 2 steps in the filter actions
(i.e. I tried to move a mail and mark it read).

Erik

To clarify; the result of a filter that moves the mail into a folder and shall
mark it read is two mail in the target folder, one read and one unread.

I have not tried the workaround mentioned.
