Hi Laurent,
I would thank you for the quick reply.
Digging more deeply, I found that the problem is server side.
According to
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc296568%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx, it's an
Exchange feature.

Regards,
Vincenzo

Thanks for the detailed report.

C: A85 UID SEARCH HEADER Message-ID 2163859.AFpIymfEBe@amiga
S: * SEARCH
S: A85 OK UID SEARCH completed
C: A86 UID STORE +FLAGS (\Seen)
S: A86 BAD Bogus attribute list in UID STORE

What we see here is that the server apparently returns an empty uidset from the
search command, and kimap apprently doesn't recognize this and then tries
nevertheless to UID STORE without UID (which is obviously invalid).
So the imap resource should abort the process if the UID SEARCH delivers an
empty result set.
That doesn't explain the truncation however, and given we can see the complete
message on the wire (almost on the wire), to the server, this looks like a
server problem apart from that.

Of course the UID SEARCH should usually also deliver a result.

Not that this necessarily fixes the problem, but it should at least fail
cleaner.

For the truncated message I suggest you check the actual payload on the server.

The only other thing I can think of is that the transmitted message size (446)
is not big enough:  A83 APPEND Sent Items (\Seen) {446}

[kmail2] [Bug 331156] Display of HTML-Message extremely slow

2014-02-19 Thread Christux
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331156

--- Comment #5 from Christux c.schwarzgruber...@gmail.com ---
Same here! KMAIL needs several seconds to display messages as HTML!
CPU usage is 100% while loading and kmail is unresponsive to user input.
I'm using KDE 4.12.2!

Turning of file indexer did not help, deleting kmail related files did not
help!

Any solution proposals?

Thank you for your help!

I'll leave this at WAITINGFORINFO for now.

I will try with your patches tomorrow and report back.

Although I don't really think they will solve the problem.

As I already wrote in comment#2, removing the UID SEARCH HEADER command did
help.
I tried to remove the UID STORE command before that, but that still resulted
in the truncation.

Maybe a timing problem? (although that would point to a server problem I think)

Or maybe the last line should have a line feed as well in any case? (as I said,
apparently only the text after the last line feed is lost)
I'm not sure what the RFC's say regarding that...

The only other thing I can think of is that the transmitted message size (446)
is not big enough:  A83 APPEND Sent Items (\Seen) {446}
I thought about this as well, but it works fine with the other servers I use.
And it doesn't really seem to be related to the exact size, rather to the last
line feed in the message.

Anyway, I will try to do more experiments.

no solution because I can not reproduce it.
I need to know why.
Try to attach gdb to kmail display a message, make a break in gdb and look at
what kmail does.
Regards

Sure.

Try to attach gdb to kmail display a message, make a break in gdb and look
 at what kmail does.

...but I have no idea about gdb. I can offer you a teamviewer session on my PC,
if that helps.
