2016-05-10 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 362904
Summary: KMail 5.1.3 i can´t change the order of the columns
(sender, date, subject) in the income box and put the
column "sender name" in the first place -
reproducable: every time!
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: stevie...@gmx.de

(--> see simular Bug ID 328315)

It isn´t possible to change the order of the columns (1. subject, 2. date, 3.
sender name) in the income box to (for example: 1. sender name, 2. date, 3.
subject)). The "sender name" can´t be moved to the first column. The column
"subject" remains always in the first place/column - reproducable: every time!

Solution: make it possible to change the order of the columns with the result
that the column "sender name" can appear in the first column.

[akregator] [Bug 362903] New: Akregator no longer asks about what to do when clicking media links

2016-05-10 Thread Harald Brunner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362903

Bug ID: 362903
Summary: Akregator no longer asks about what to do when
clicking media links
   Product: akregator
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: harald.demian.brun...@gmail.com

Since the last upgrade (about version: 5.2.0) when clicking links in the feed
item contents view, it no longer shows the dialog with the options "Open with
", "Open with...", "Save As...", etc. at least when it comes to
video links. It now opens those in a new tab, subsequently freezing the
application for a while because it fails to play them properly.

In the recent version there also was a check box on that dialog to set the
action as default, i never did that though and did not find any settings for
mime types in Akregator's settings either. This is an inconvenience given that
i now have to manually copy the link and open it using the OS.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have link to e.g. video/mpeg
2. Click it

Actual Results:
Opens new tab trying to play video there

Expected Results:
Ask for action (open, save, etc.)

[kmail2] [Bug 362896] New: Account freezes for several weeks when processing lots of emails

2016-05-10 Thread krystalcode via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362896

Bug ID: 362896
Summary: Account freezes for several weeks when processing lots
of emails
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.10
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: dboze...@gmail.com

Kmail seems not to be able to handle operations on thousands of emails well. I
have encountered this in 2 cases.

1) Adding a new account with thousands of emails. The message list showed
nothing (0 emails) for almost a month. After the first shock, thinking that my
emails were wiped out, I realised that the emails were still on the IMAP
server. They showed up locally after several weeks. Then things went back to
normal.

2) Later I decided to apply an expiry filter on the Inbox of the same account.
I added a rule to move emails to a local folder. First tried moving only 2
months worth of emails, worked well and fast. Then 6 months worth of emails,
worked well and fast. Encouraged, I increased the number of emails to move to
about 2-3 years worth of emails, and ... I am still waiting. The account went
blank (message list shows nothing at all). After 2 weeks, few emails showed up,
but the account is still unusable - the vast majority of emails are still
hiding, including those that were not supposed to be moved.

I don't know enough of Kmail/akonadi's internals to interpret this bug, but it
looks like the tasks for processing the emails are forgotten, and randomly
picked up at some point. System activity does not show any CPU/Memory usage
apart from 1% for Kmail, which I believe is just normal usage. Even with very
low priority, the tasks should have finished by now.

It would be great if some visibility would be provided about the status of
tasks. I wouldn't mind forcing processing all emails with high priority and
burn my CPU for an hour, but get them done, rather than rendering Kmail
unusable for an unpredictable amount of time.

As I wrote in
"Bug 357670 - KMail 16.04.0: Composer auto-completion fails on first try"
it fixed in qt 5.6.0
It works fine here.
So ok this bug annoying you but I can't fix all bug when it depends against qt
or lower lib.

If you have some bug in spellchecking perhaps report it against sonnet
component.
It's not because you have a bug in kmail that it's depend just against kmail.

Bug ?

I have a little tired to see comment as
"Is nobody able (or willing) to finally fix this bug ? Aunt google tells this
bug exists for years ?! Really ?"

Yes kmail and other kde application or opensource application has some bugs,
and indeed we don't have 24h to work by day on application. It's during free
time.
And sometime we don't have a solution because it's a bug in qt or a bug that we
can't reproduce.
For this bug I investigate in Bug 357670 and I didn't find a solution.

It works fine here.

I will take time to install another distro on my computer to evaluate it.
But for sure if it will easy to fix bug as it it already fixed.

Regards

Hmmm, no, the times are different. Oh, they have always been, just the same of
each retrieval attempt it seems. I completely missed that all the time cause
they looked all the same, as I usually have several hundred mails on each
download since I switched it to a 2 hour interval. Seems it gets the time once
for each "download mail" operation. But the uids are all the same.

This still happens with Applications/16.04. Since starting Akonadi + KMail
16.04 + setting to leave mail on server for one day it received six mails. This
is the result:

martin@merkaba:~/.config> cat akonadi_pop3_resource_0rc
[General]
host=[…]
intervalCheckEnabled=true
intervalCheckInterval=120
leaveOnServer=true
leaveOnServerDays=1

seenUidList=00320035446ce738,00320036446ce738,00320037446ce738,00320038446ce738,00320039446ce738,0032003a446ce738

I´d expect the Uids and Times to be *different* for each item, but they are the
same again.

I checked it and for each mail it receives is just adds the same value to each
of the lists again, which doesn´t make any sense to me.

Agreed. ive mentioned it all before.
My current next hope is that as soon as kde neon gets kde apps that it

Other than that i dont know.

there is something about kmail that makes me want to use it, but it
UNUSABLE.
ofter the last update not even recent address works unless you backspace
after starting to type.

I will personally pay someone for a few hours of work via paypal in
order to fix this bug.
But after the fix i need a way to install it.
if anyone would like to accept my ofer please let me know

If one can't move pop3 resources, one can list them in a fixed list below the

drop and the move buttons if a pop3 resource is selected.

I think the extra window is quite redundant and not intuitive...

Absolutely no progress on this bug. It's very disappointing.

It works brilliantly in Thunderbird/Lighting with Google calendar add-on.
Also the event calendar plasmoid for Plasma 5 syncs events like a charm.

[kmail2] [Bug 362880] New: Customize accounts order should not be a extra window

2016-05-10 Thread sedrubal via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362880

Bug ID: 362880
Summary: Customize accounts order should not be a extra window
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.10
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@sedrubal.de

I think it'd be better to integrate the window "Customize accounts order" into
the "Accounts" config window instead of having a button and a extra window. One
could add the move up and move down button to the right of the "receiving"
accounts list and enable drag and drop for the accounts order.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure Kmail
2. Accounts
3. Customize accounts order

[Akonadi] [Bug 361737] duplicates values in SeenUidList and SeenUidTimeList until it crawls to an halt on saving messages

2016-05-10 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361737

Thanks for the support, Michael. I never was clear on what to put into
branch-group to get the desired result. I somehow managed to have kdesrc-build
to build from an Applications branch.

Now rebuilding with globally with stable-kf-qt5 to have consistent versions for
everything. Will obviously take a while to complete even on Sandybridge i5
dualcore, 16 GiB RAM and Dual SSD BTRFS RAID 1 (or especially as the BTRFS
filesystem may not be running at optimal performance for being near full).
