[kmail2] [Bug 363504] Deleting or moving the last email from the listing pane the preview the content stays in the preview pane

I am running Kubuntu 16.04 with Neon on top. KMail is working great except for
a problem similar to the OP's. On the last email in the input box message
list, when I drag the msg title to a folder, or delete it, the message body is
cleared but the message title in the message list is not. I have to click on
another folder and then click again on the input box to clear it. No
information is changed or lost, unless I deleted it. It is as if the msg title
of the msg was a ghost.

[kmail2] [Bug 362695] Kmail process continues running after exiting with File->quit.

2016-08-23 Thread Christoph Pospiech via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362695

Today I scratched all Kmail2 and Akonadi config and data files in $HOME/.config
and $HOME/.local/share - to no avail. The process keeps running after closing
the kmail2 GUI. I haven't seen any Email losses for a while now. So the email
losses I saw earlier seem to be unrelated to this bug.
I made one observation though - I have ticked the option to scratch emails in
trash when closing. The emails are *not* discarded. Means the process hangs
somewhere before erasing trash mails.

Actually, this bug as well as all the bugs mentioned in comment 5 seem to be
duplicates of Bug 365944, which is already closed.

The corresponding patch was commited before the beta of 16.08. Can please
someone check if this bug is still present in 16.08?

Thanks for the heads-up about the "Switch offline on KMail shutdown" checkbox
in the account settings. However, it seems to exist only for remote account
types such as POP3 and IMAP. Since my issue also concerns local accounts such
as mbox and maildir folders, I hope it's OK to reopen this report. (Consider
that many users get mail delivered to local accounts via programs like
fetchmail, local cron jobs, etc.)

Summary: Kmail crash when while configuring autocompletion from
contextual menu in to: field when composing a new
message
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: morgot...@hotmail.com

Application: kmail (5.2.3)

Qt Version: 5.6.1
Frameworks Version: 5.23.0
Operating System: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 x86_64
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux testing (stretch)

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
step to reproduce the crash :
  - new message
  - fill the TO field with text
  - remove the text
  - right click into the field and select configure completion
no panel does open and kmail crash instantaneously

- Custom settings of the application:
autocompletion using recent adresses and indexed dadresses can be enabled or
disabled, it doesn't change the outcome.
I use a caldav adress book, it is the first in the completion order.
I use Kmail since less than a week, the autocompletion never worked

The crash can be reproduced every time.

I intend to try to access Exchange server directly instead of by proxy to
determine whether its a proxy issue.

I also created IMAP log. Here is what I think the relevant excerpt of it:

It seems either proxy or Exchange does not like the additional UID STORE
commands. Why Akonadi issues UID STORE mutiple times (I am no expert of IMAP
protocol).

[Akonadi] [Bug 367708] New: [Exchange 2013] Error on saving sent mail to IMAP folder: A000007 BAD Command Argument Error. 12

2016-08-23 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367708

Bug ID: 367708
Summary: [Exchange 2013] Error on saving sent mail to IMAP
folder: A07 BAD Command Argument Error. 12
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 16.04
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: chrig...@fastmail.fm
  Reporter: martin.steigerw...@teamix.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org

After I sent a mail I receive the notifications:

Speichern fehlgeschlagen, die Serverantwort lautet: A07 BAD Command
Argument Error. 12

sometimes also after that:

Die Verbindung zum Server ist abgebrochen.

The mails are saved nonetheless.

Setup is Akonadi/KMail 4:16.04.3-2 from Debian unstable with Exchange 2013
behind Nginx proxy. Akonadi/KMail is configured to store sent mail in IMAP
folder on that account.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have Exchange 2013, probably behind Nginx proxy.
2. Setup IMAP and SMTP.
3. Set it up to store sent mails in folder "Sent Items."
4. Send a mail.

Actual Results:
After I sent a mail I receive the notifications:

Speichern fehlgeschlagen, die Serverantwort lautet: A07 BAD Command
Argument Error. 12 => Saving failed, server answer is: …

sometimes also after that:

Die Verbindung zum Server ist abgebrochen. => Connection to server aborted.

In ~/xsession-errors I also get:

kdeinit5: Got EXEC_NEW '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/smtp.so'
from launcher.
kdeinit5: preparing to launch
'/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/smtp.so'
Cannot pause an inactive timer
"Der Name des Hosts ist keiner aus der Liste der für dieses Zertifikat gültigen
Hosts" => THe name of the host is in not from the list of the hosts that are
valid for this certificate.
log_kimap: We asked for UID but the server didn't give it back, resultingFlags
not stored.
log_imapresource: Flag append failed: "Speichern fehlgeschlagen, die
Serverantwort lautet: A07 BAD Command Argument Error. 12 " => Saving
failed, server answer is: …
log_imapresource: Flag remove failed: "Speichern fehlgeschlagen, die
Serverantwort lautet: A08 BAD Command Argument Error. 12 "
Database "akonadi" opened using driver "QMYSQL"

And sometimes instead:

log_kimap: We asked for UID but the server didn't give it back, resultingFlags
not stored.

Same here.

Using Kmail 5.1.3 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

When adding and attachment using drag and drop, it creates a ling file:///

Although using attachment button (one with paper clip icon) works fine.

Is there any update in which this has been fixed??
