same Problem here ChakraLinux after last upgrade to 16.12.0. Sometimes it's
enough try to open an mail. Retrieving mail wait. Something in the db blocks.

Since the last update kmail no longer shows the amount of unread mails in the
systray anymore. 

Now the icon just fades out  (which makes it terribly hard to see on
breeze-dark) with the amount only remaining in the tooltip. 

Please add the number back to the icon, as otherwise it is fairly pointless.

I still have this problem accessing an existing maildir ressource with KMail
5.4.1 (KDE Applications 16.12.1.) on Arch.

However, I saw akonadiserver crashing only once after updating KDE
Applications. Currently the maildir ressource only is marked as broken and
shown in red. In this respect, the situation has improved a little, as access
to IMAP folders now stays possible after an unsuccessful read attempt without
restarting KMail/Akonadi.

For newly added maildir ressources I suffer from bug 294215, which may be
related.

I can confirm this bug for KMail 5.4.1 (KDE Applications 16.12.1.) for a newly
added maildir folder structure (which is a copy of an existing one used by
KMail itself).

I can even move Mails into its root folder, so the resource isn't completely
broken. Just all subfolders are missing.

For the existing maildir resource, I still suffer from bug 320529
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320529) since Akonadi 16.12.0-1 / KMmail
5.4.0, which may be related.

Yes, you are right. This bug, however, wasn't about a missing feature,
essential as it may be, but about a bug that was triggered by the feature when
it was still present. Mixing up different bugs in a single report can make it
even harder to track the bug down, so I'd like to avoid it. You never know

KMail now handles the two cases differently. However, the "error" message is
still confusing. When clicking "Abort" in the password prompt, it says:

"Fehler beim Erstellen der Nachricht: Verarbeitung wurde abgebrochen"

which roughly translates to

"Error during message creation: Process was cancelled"

Sorry, I don't know the original english text.

Anyway, while a click on an "Abort" button might be an error from a
programmer's point of view, it isn't an error from a user's point of view.
Maybe it should say something like:

"Message signing was aborted. Your message has not been sent. If you want to
send an unsigned message, please deselect the \"Sign\" option in the message
composer."

In the other case (if the secring is not where it should be), it asks three
times for my password, which of course even fails when I type the correct
password. However, it then says "... Wrong passphrase." It shouldn't even ask
three times, but give the correct message "I was unable to find your private
key for signing. Please do this and that to fix the problem", I guess.

The option to create top-level folders seems to have been removed.
Right-clicking on the account in the folder list, KMail does not offer that
option. Selecting the account in the folder list, the option to create a new
subsolder in the Folders menu of KMail is greyed out. Both ways to add new
folders work on any other folder.

My setup: KMail 5.4.1, and posteo.de, too. Posteo still let's me create
top-level folders via the web interface.

I'm not sure whether this bug is valid anymore. It was about crashes when using
a feature that is now gone.

This bug has only been reported for very old, yet unsupported versions of
KMail. In more recent versions, this seems to be fixed. I tested both attached
mails, and the embedded messages were shown inside the containing message, all
in the same message viewer window. Tested with 5.4.1.

Still happens in 5.4.1. The message list is maintained until the folder filter
string does not match the selected folder any more.

Example: select the folder "kde". The message list now displays messages from
the "kde" folder. Type "kdx" into the folder quicksearch field. The message
list is cleared when you hit the "x".

KMail still knows that "kde" was selected. In the above example, remove the "x"
from the quicksearch field, and "kde" is selected again. This restores the
message list, too.

Clearing the entire quicksearch field using Ctrl+Back, however, deselects the
original folder.

sedrubal, your issue has probably nothing to do with the original bug reported
here. That's because KMail has seen several huge changes since 2011. Also, the
orininal reporter deleted her account, so we cannot contact her for feedback
any more. Please open a new report with more details about your setup, since

Still doesn't work in 5.4.1. I did the following:

1. move a message from my inbox to another, non-Trash folder
2. select Undo from the menu (or press Ctrl+Z)

My last move-to-trash action was undone, instead of the much more recent last

This bug is still present in Akregator 16.04.3-2 and is really annoying. I'm 
using Akregator in Debian Stretch with Kontact 16.04.3-2 and Plasma 5.

The bug seems to appear randomly but I also see it when the following happens. 
First Akregator fetches new articles from feeds and it saves some of them 
without date and time. So usually I don't see these articles because they are 
put at the bottom of the list. Then, when Kontact is restarted, Akregator shows 
these articles whit the date 07/02/06 07:28 at the top of the list.

This bug really undermines the usability of the program because it messes the 
chronological order of the articles.

IMHO the problem is in themedelegate.cpp

void ThemeDelegate::generalFontChanged()
always uses system font.

Attached patch seems to fix it.
