[kontact] [Bug 362817] Kontact crash on open addressbook from the email window

2017-09-28 Thread Geoffrey
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362817

I set up Kmail and my address book for the first time syncing with my google
contacts. I added a contact to the address book. When I selected it from
within Kmail, Kmail crashed. When I removed the new address from the address
book, I could select any existing address from Kmail without crashing. The
problem also happens from adding a contact from the context menu on the senders
address of a received email.

[Akonadi] [Bug 383263] akonadiconsole unusable on resolutions under 1366x786.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383263

I have send a second screen shot of a second tab yesterday. You can easily set
your resolution lower e.g.to resolution 1366x786 (the 786 (height) is the
problem) to check how the akonadiconsole looks then, but I cannot set it higher
on my laptops as the video card does not support any higher resolutions. If
there is any problem let me know what other screenshot (from which tabs) you
want and I will supply then.

Known crash in the nouveau driver, not being able to handle OpenGL from
multiple threads. Please ask in a forum of your distribution for the known
workarounds.

KOrganizer fails
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Message of Akonadi in KOrganizer (German)

Plasma 5.10.5, Kernel 4.12.14, KOrganizer 5.6.1.
When starting KOrganizer it is demanded to start Akonadi manually (by clicking
on a Start-Button) because Akonadi doesn't run (status: stopped).
After clicking on 'Start' there is an error: Akonadi Service for PIM doesn't
work properly. Clicking on 'Details' button has no effect.
Finally Akonadi seems not to run and KOrganizer doesn't work. No access to
KOrganizer gui.
I deleted /home/user/.local/share/akonadi and then started akonadi with:
akonadictl start. The status still shows: stopped.
In Plasma 5.9 KOrganizer was working properly

Can confirm this again on Opensuse Leap 42.3 with
- Kmail/Kaddressbook 5.2.2
- KDE Frameworks 5.32.0
- akonadi-contact 17.04.02
- eGroupware 1.8.007

would be really nice to have a single possibility to synchronize contact groups
between several people.

Sounds exactly like bug#380182, which should be fixed in 17.04.3 and later.

Maybe ask your distribution to update the packages or backport

[kontact] [Bug 384310] Kontact crashes every time when started

I have a hard time imagining the HTML email bug to be a duplicate, because I
don't use any preview panes. Meaning, Kontact crashes without trying to
interpret HTML.
Kontact works fine on my laptop when I use the internal display. It crashes
when any external display is connected.

[kmail2] [Bug 385163] New: email rendering does not respect system font DPI settings

2017-09-28 Thread Diggory Hardy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385163

Bug ID: 385163
Summary: email rendering does not respect system font DPI
settings
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@dhardy.name
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm using a high-DPI screen. In System Settings → Fonts, I set "Force fonts
DPI" to a larger value (currently 192), and most application text gets
increased in size. Not so with emails rendered in KMail2 (I can open the email
and zoom with Ctrl+WheelUp, but it's not automatic).

FYI Konqueror seems to have the same problem. So does Firefox, but it has its
own workarounds (and it's not KDE software).

I found two maybe-related bug reports; both about print size:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372662
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78264

Alternatively I guess it would be okay to scale email rendering by the screen
DPI, not by the "force font DPI" setting.

As a workaround, setting the env var QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2 would "work" — but it's
an ugly hack which doubles the size of everything, including the useless
margins and all the UI elements which have already been increased in size
(through System Settings → Icons, Application Style, "force font DPI", and
possibly more); i.e. to use it effectively I'd have to set it desktop-wide at
startup and revert all the other tweaks, then put up with huge margins in all
the UIs.

Summary: automatically scale email rendering by "force font DPI" / default=96,
or by screen DPI

[kmail2] [Bug 385162] New: Add to Dictionary in Spellcheck does not take immediate effect

2017-09-28 Thread Vishnu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385162

Bug ID: 385162
Summary: Add to Dictionary in Spellcheck does not take
immediate effect
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.6.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: misc
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: vishn...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If there are multiple instances of a new, unrecognized word in a message,
Spellcheck flags them all for revision, and goes through them all even if the
first instance of the word was 'Added to Dictionary'.

The next time I compose a message, the added word is no longer flagged, so
adding to dictionary dies work, but not in the same message.
