2018-03-12 Thread Allan Sandfeld
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391783

Yes upon further investigation this mainly seems to be trigger by the use of
default constructed QSqlQuery as a non-initialized null value, but that is not
how Qt treats them, and they will try to connect to the default database and
prepare to execute commands there.

[kmail2] [Bug 389659] Please wait while the message is transferred

2018-03-12 Thread Ian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389659

Okay I think I know what is causing this... Kmail is now storing the emails
SOMEWHERE ELSE compared to before. So it's trying to find the old mails in the
new place, and they're not there, hence it just spins forever.

Question is, where are the mail stored now? I can't find them... so my nightly
backups are backing up nothing (because there's nothing new in the old
folders... ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory)

Such changes need to be thoroughly documented so that users can take
appropriate action, surely?

If there are docs, please point me to them... :-)

I know have mails in 3 or 4 places thanks to various changes in KMail/Akonadi
over the years.

Thanks, Ian

Actually, it might not be that wrong, it is just that QSqlQuery is at least
temporarily in an illegal state when constructored by the querybuilder.

2018-03-12 Thread Allan Sandfeld
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391783

Bug ID: 391783
Summary: Akonadi is using QSqlDatabse entirely wrong
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.7.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: server
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@carewolf.com
  Target Milestone: ---

QSqlDatabase is not thread safe and can not be used from multiple threads. This
is however done massively in Akonadi.

Qt 5.11 will print millions of warnings due to this as they are now warning if
you do this wrong.

[korganizer] [Bug 391769] New: KOrganizer 5.7.3: Incident times of tasks are not updated when edited by keyboard only

2018-03-12 Thread Till Schäfer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391769

Bug ID: 391769
Summary: KOrganizer 5.7.3: Incident times of tasks are not
updated when edited by keyboard only
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.7.2
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: incidence editors
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: till2.schae...@uni-dortmund.de
  Target Milestone: ---

When editing the start/due time of an existing task with the keyboard only and
clicking ok afterwards, the new values are not saved. This only happens to
tasks, but not to calendar entries.
On the other hand, when selecting the new time by clicking a preset time (i.e.,
using the drop down list) with the mouse cursor, it works without problems.
Even, when some time from the drop down list is selected with the mouse and
edited afterwards with the keyboard, the keyboard editing is saved correctly.
Thus, I assume that somehow, the keyboard-only edits are not recognized as task
modifications.

Good to hear.

But with the current Beta there might still be issues. E.g. Configuration of
the GnuPG-System won't work. These problems are already solved but await a new
GnuPG release which will be part of the final release.

[akregator] [Bug 385292] akregator does not use system proxy settings

2018-03-12 Thread Jonathan Marten
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385292

It depends on the selected proxy type (in Konqueror's proxy settings).

"Use system proxy configuration", with settings taken from the http_proxy and
similar environment variables, works and access the proxy correctly for all
feeds and article views. "Manually specified proxy configuration", with the
proxy hbosts/ports explicitly specified, does not work.

This is a known limitation of anything based on QWebEngine, it can only use
proxy environment variables. Maybe this should be documented somewhere - the
logical place would be Konqueror's proxy settings.

Hi there,

Could you try the following procedure to see if it helps?

- Quit Akregator (by issuing command `killall akregator` or even `killall
kontact` if you use Akregator integrated in Kontact)
- Rename its configuration file `~/.config/akregatorrc` so that it will be
re-created when akregator starts next time
- Rename the `Archive` directory (`~./local/share/akregator/Archive/`) so that
Akregator could rebuild it at next start. Note: this could make you lost all
the "Important" and "Read" status.

As of present in KDE Plasma 5 and KDE Framework 43, Akregator 5.7.2 has,
- "Close other tabs" in the pop up menu of right clicking the tab;
- "Reload" in the pop up menu of right clicking in the page;
- "Detach Tab" in the pop up menu of right clicking the tab, so that the tab
will be opened in default browser such as Firefox. This could be used as a
substitution for "add to bookmarks".
Now, I will close this as "FIXED". Please re-open or submit a new report if you
