[Akonadi] [Bug 418468] New: Attempt to remove a source causes system freeze
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418468 Bug ID: 418468 Summary: Attempt to remove a source causes system freeze Product: Akonadi Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: Google Resource Assignee: dvra...@kde.org Reporter: kloz.kl...@gmail.com CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, win...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Not sure if it's related to akonadi itself, or to korganizer. If you'll add a calendar source (I was able to reproduce it both with Google calendar and an ical file) and then would try to remove it - it would hang the system making it completely unusable. Only hard reset helps. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a calendar source (Google or ical file); 2. Wait for it to sync; 3. Try to remove the source. [Akonadi] [Bug 418464] New: Alternative to kwallet for akonadi passwords storing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418464 Bug ID: 418464 Summary: Alternative to kwallet for akonadi passwords storing Product: Akonadi Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: o.g.m.bell...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- 926/5000 Hello,Akonadi currently uses Kwallet as a mandatory password manager; Kwallet is good software but its functionalities seem to no longer follow the state of the art in this area: -It is not possible to use it with firefox to store passwords (lockwise…) -the same for chromium and its clones, -you cannot use a yubikeys / nitrokeys to unlock the database -the secretservice protocol is not supported I plan to use KeepassXC for my browser and to protect the database with a nitrokeys but if I am forced to use kwallet because of akonadi/kontact, this may become a bit complicated. Could it be possible that in the near future akonadi will allow us to choose an alternative password manager based on more recent protocols and technologies implemented in our password requesting software? EXPECTED RESULT I would like, in a KCM, to be able to choose an alternative to kwallet (keepassXC…) and use it with the software of the kdepim suite (kmail, korganizer etc) and all the kde software which uses passwords in any way . Thanks to all the team for your wonderful work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
