[Akonadi] [Bug 437688] Cannot download email from office365.com via IMAP
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437688 --- Comment #1 from Aaron Williams --- I am also seeing this message: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Handler exception when handling command FetchItems on connection MessageViewer-93885839893888 (0x55ed0a210340) : Unable to fetch item from backend (collection -1) : Unable to retrieve item from resource: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. I have deleted this email from my inbox as well as permanently deleted it from my deleted and recoverable folders using the web interface but it is still barfing on this same email. Kontact thinks it's in my trash folder, but I deleted everything in that folder. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[kmail2] [Bug 427738] "POP3 Account" stays as the name for each email I set up; have to check setting each time to tell which it is!
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427738 --- Comment #3 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- Hmm, after searching the code for "POP3 Account" I found this 2 lines: https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/blob/master/resources/pop3/accountwidget.cpp#L132 https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/blob/master/resources/pop3/pop3resource.cpp#L43 Which made me think that naming/renaming the accounts should work. And it did! Maybe it's a bug only during creation of the accounts? Just in case, this is what I did: - Opened kmail, went to settings - accounts: All of the names were "POP3 Account" - Edited one by one changing their names, it still showed "POP3 Account" in the list but editing them again showed the right name inside - Closed kmail - Stopped akonadi and started it again - Started kmail, went to settings - accounts: All of the names were those i set! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

I am wondering if it is related to Bug# 403903 since I have seen the same throttling on IMAP when my laptop attempts to sync all IMAP email. At some earlier point I debugged IMAP to Office365 to also returning throttling responses. In any event, Akonadi is getting stuck on the following email. Note that I have stripped out a lot of identifying information since this is a work account. This account contains a lot of emails going back over 10 years.
