What I was doing when the application crashed:
After previous last update (zypper dup), akonadi crashed with this error.

As a bit a of an ADS candidate (calendars are our best friends), I typically just put 3 reminders for any and all events: 1 day, 2 hours and 1 hour before. It's a bit of a simpler ask than OP's I believe, but also half way there, so could be considered a milestone. Currently, Korganizer actually has this, but with just one default reminder (https://superuser.com/a/1468188/403260). SUMMARY
Kamail (also within Kontact) crashed when i try to add a note to mail selected
in the message list. I can reproduce the crash on IMAP and local (maildir)
mailbox. Crash is independent of note type ("Shared note" or
"AnnotationEditDialogPrivate note")
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select one mail in the message list
2. From context menu select "Add Note ..."
3. Type any text or leave out the text
4. Hit [Ok]

Segmentation fault
