[kmail2] [Bug 450901] New: Links displayed on hover are cut off with no way to see the full link or indicator for the cut off
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450901 Bug ID: 450901 Summary: Links displayed on hover are cut off with no way to see the full link or indicator for the cut off Product: kmail2 Version: 5.18.90 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: UI Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: k...@web.de Target Milestone: --- When you hover over a long link, a part of the link is shown on the bottom left of the KMail window. Long links are cut off in the middle so you can not see the full link. Showing an indicator that the cut off happens would be good. Showing the full link would be better. This might be a security issue as someone could craft long links that have the malicious domain hidden in the final part, which is not shown by KMail. [kmail2] [Bug 393421] No ability to hide the HTML Message Status Bar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393421 Lukas Ba. changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@web.de --- Comment #68 from Lukas Ba. --- > It is a security reason. You could receive an HTML mail that looks like a > plain text mail, and with HTML you have the ability to embed malicious links > everywhere. If you have no way to see that the message is actually an HTML > message, i.e. _outside_ the message viewer, you could click those links > without being aware that they link to sites that you don't see in the text. I just assume that every message is an HTML message. Most of the time i am right. I changed all the colors to black. It's what i call security by obscurity ;-) I wonder when K9Mail authors are going to remove the ability to open links in your browser of choice and only allow wget piped into less because it's obviously more secure than GUI browsers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[kmail2] [Bug 390733] KMail cannot send mails using gmail smtp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390733 --- Comment #23 from Lukas Ba. --- (In reply to DeMus from comment #3) > Same here. I have 1 POP and 1 IMAP account in KMail but sending from both > accounts is not possible. POP3 and IMAP are protocols for receiving emails, not for sending emails. Only SMTP supports sending emails. So what you are saying is not a bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[kmail2] [Bug 450883] New: New identities have unreasonable settings for email address and outgoing account
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450883 Bug ID: 450883 Summary: New identities have unreasonable settings for email address and outgoing account Product: kmail2 Version: 5.18.90 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: config dialog Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: k...@web.de Target Milestone: --- STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1-3 1. Preparation. Create multiple outgoing email accounts, e.g. account-a, username-a, smtp.domain-a.com account-b, username-b, smtp.domain-b.de 2. Create new identity from template empty, give it the name usernam...@domain-a.com . I know it can be an arbitrary name, but it seems reasonable for the user to use an email address as an identity name. 3. See/check what settings have been filled in for the identity OBSERVED RESULT Identity settings do not have reasonable values: 1. email address is empty even though the identity name is already in email address format. STEPS TO REPRODUCE, 4. 4. In identity settings, fill in the email address as usernam...@domain-a.com. OBSERVED RESULT 2. 2. In the identity settings Under advanced, the outgoing account may be set to account-b. Sending email may not work (, because the email provider has blocked sending email with a different address). The outgoing account setting is not set smartly. EXPECTED RESULT 1. email address should be filled in equal to identity name. 2. The user should be prompted to fill in an outgoing account instead of picking an arbitrary outgoing account that doesn't work, or a reasonable guess at the outgoing account should be made. A better pick would be account-a, where the username and domain match to the email address much better, just compare usernam...@domain-a.com and (username-a, smtp.domain-a.com) and (username-b, smtp.domain-b.de). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KMail: 5.18.1 COMMENT If i configure an open PGP key, that doesn't match the email adress i get a warning by KMAIL which makes sense. But configuring an email address that doesn't match my outgoing mail domain does somehow not generate a warning. Even though most providers will block such mismatching addresses. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
