Potentially the same as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486871, the error
message is indeed not helpful, but I got the same.
And I can confirm that the ressource is working with every other client,
including akonadi < 6.*, so this is not a bug in the ressource, but in akonadi.

[Akonadi] [Bug 487497] New: remoteId isn't large enough to store long remote calendars URLs

2024-05-24 Thread Matthieu L.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487497

Bug ID: 487497
Summary: remoteId isn't large enough to store long remote
calendars URLs
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 6.0.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: matthieu.lauren...@proton.me
CC: c...@carlschwan.eu
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When trying to add a ical resource with a long remote url, it will fail with
the error
org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DB error: "Data too long for column 'remoteId' at
row 1"

This happens because the CollectionTable's remoteId field is a varbinary(255),
and in my case the url is 328 characters long.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. From a akonadi client (Merkuro Calendar in my case), create a new "ical
calendar file" calendar resource, setting it's url to something really long
(for example
"https://example.com/mycal.ical?eHMwUHXeaNzcAyEgAHCmYuiQGNOoHUOLvrVJTqcyqIKKZqgROoPtdhBJJkqzxOvfljNfprzmrbdhdNThGVhKwUOXNArqrTmQYEZwaFxmfKWhzayWiuzDHVHNsokPVoNxvVlpqiExFShIZfqbJHmOmBQbSGUuiyIEAcCNeGGsyaZnFhRxSwvHnyCXHdKKcMNfugzwGnFSncEXKGTBDyMOUbqMkKzlsodXswfQgczcTFLzulwEVmpfNhZfMuLriYsLOztSpUNsfELRFOgSFvqYRERJHgiMWijPTAnqjYeIDONQ;)
2. Observe the akondani server output

OBSERVED RESULT
The calendar isn't added, failing with the following errors:
>org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DATABASE ERROR:
>org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error code: "1406"
>org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DB error: "Data too long for column 'remoteId'

>org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error while handling command CreateCollection on

EXPECTED RESULT
The calendar is added and works

Created attachment 169789

identity versus from

The "identity" drop down is an actual selection of what email you want to send
from.

The "From" is just a input box you would need to type.

This doesn't make sense.

The drop down for identities takes up the same space as a single input slot so
what you are saying doesn't make sense to me.

Bug ID: 487468
Summary: Patch for calendar - Philippines holidays 2024
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: frameworks-kholidays
   Version: 6.2.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: task
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: pmarget...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Proposed holidays file for Philippines 2024

Frameworks currently lacks a holidays file for Philippines.
Attached file contains compiled date from Official Gazette of the Republic of
the Philippines.
Holidays in Philippines are subject to Presidential proclamations, so it needs
to be updated on a yearly basis upon new Presidential proclamations.
It also includes the updated school year dates.
I've attempted to verify the validity of the data with native citizens of the
Philippines.
I've tried to adhere to the format specified in
https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kholidays/-/blob/master/holidays/file-format.txt
I'm posting this as a bug report to start a discussion on it before a merge
request can be opened.
Please feel free to point out any shortcomings or misinformation contained in
the attached file.

Again, this is your point of view. Most users only have one identity set up and
showing this dropdown menu by default would waste space for them.

What is missing however is the selection of aliases addresses when they exist.
This is already reported (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400851)
