There's a million threads in the backtrace, not sure if it's crashing on thread
1 (intel drivers urg) or in thread 13 (kmime)

Hmmm, i'm actually going to vote for kmime beacuse i also have this backtrace
https://pst.klgrth.io/paste/4txbf where the crash would seem to be either
webengine (thread 1) or kmime (thread 2)

download was going.

Pressing that button nowadays does nothing other than turn it to a downwards

Fix Bug 397752 - HTML articles appear very small

GrantleeViewFormatter converts user configured font size from points
to pixels, but there's no such conversion in AkregatorPart, where
QWebEngineSettings::setFontSize also expects the font size in pixels.
As a result fonts on sites using relative units (em or rem) are small,
unless DPI is close to 72. The point to pixel conversion should be
either in both places, or none. I chose the latter option, because
then the font sizes in Akregator match values in Falkon.

Fix KTimeComboBox for locales with unusual characters in formats

KTimeComboBox creates an edit mask by replacing the AM/PM indicator in
a formatted time with 'a' ("optional alphabetic") mask characters.
This does not work for locales that use punctuation in the indicator, such
as the current en_CA format "9:00 A.M.". This patch uses mask character
'x' ("optional non-blank").

The current fr_CA time format contains an embedded 'h':  "9 h 00".  'h' is
an edit mask character ("optional hexadecimal digit"), so the generated
mask rejects properly-formatted times. This patch escapes all characters
that are not supposed to be mask characters.

[kmail2] [Bug 407175] New: Crashes on session logout

2019-05-03 Thread Albert Astals Cid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407175

Bug ID: 407175
   Summary: Crashes on session logout
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.11.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: aa...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When logging out of a Plasma session i get a kmail crash.

Allan (qtwebengine maintainer) says it may be "because it deletes a profile
that still has pages active" or "is trying to delete the pages, but it might be
too late"

Note that i can only reproduce this on an actual session logout. File->Quit
works fine.

Sadly archlinux doesn't have debug packages to provide a better backtrace.

Right i can see the problem.

Question is, are those kind of messages that you are suggesting to stop
supporting "common" or even is there a reason for someone to be sending
messages like that?

Or if you get a message like this it's most probably someone trying to trick
you?

Because if those messages are common, stopping to work on them is going to be a
pain for the people that have a valid usecase.

I am not sure I understand where the problem is, potentially means you need to
explain it in simpler words (or that i need to learn how to read long sentences

Is this problem?

 * C intercepts that email
 * C resends the email modified to B (adding his own reply address and some

I have a few emails that have attachments in the form of

Content-Disposition: inline;
filename=BusinessCardSheet2nd-edition1.pdf
Content-Type: application/pdf;
x-unix-mode=0644;
name="BusinessCardSheet2nd-edition1.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

And they don't have the "have attachment" flag set, meaning that when i change
the filter to show only emails with attachments they do not show up.

Git commit 02445c3022c96c4cf8734034ec49c0cb9b05d1ea by Albert Astals Cid, on
behalf of Allan Sandfeld Jensen.
Committed on 15/03/2018 at 16:39.
Pushed by aacid into branch 'master'.

Fix QSqlQuery warnings

Summary:
A default constructed QSqlQuery is not a passive null-value but a
query prepared for the default database which may not be allowed
in the current thread. Instead try connecting to the akonadi default
database.

[Akonadi] [Bug 389829] "Unable to fetch item from backend" after deleting it using akonadi_maildir_resource_0

akonadiconsole->browser->find ghost email->right click->delete item

You'll recognize the ghost email because clicking on it says " "Unable to fetch
item from backend" on the terminal you started akonadiconsole.

You should have omitted this part, it doesn't give any important information
and only creates negativity.

[kmail2] [Bug 390847] New: Saving an encapsulated message doesn't work

Bug ID: 390847
   Summary: Saving an encapsulated message doesn't work
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.7.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: aa...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

How to reproduce:
 * right click on "encapsulated message"
 * On the menu, select "Save as"
 * Select a filename
 * The file is created but it is 0 bytes

Maybe related?
 * Right click on "encapsulated message" and open does nothing
 * Right click and properties says 0 bytes

As alternative if i left click on "encapsulated message" and then on the window
that has been opened i click File->Save it works fine

At the moment you can only resend the emails you have sent.

In many ocasions it is useful to resend an email someone else already sent, for
example, when sending a reminder that you only have to change the date but want
to keep the text structure, etc.

I have a vague memory that this was possible with older versions of KMail but
seems it's not possible now, i would really welcome the feature back :)

There's various of these already but all i could find are either old or using
imap so opening this new one.

I can "relatively often" reproduce this when deleting email.

I have to go to akonadiconsole and remove it from there otherwise kmail will
have a ghost entry forever.

Not sure if it's any useful but enabling the debugger in akonadi console gets
me this output

I'll try to keep myself from deleting this ghost email for a while in case more

I'd be happy enough if you could "force delete" this from kmail without having
to resort to akonadiconsole.

I don't know, honestly i'd say "you're using old software and in new versions
it works" (as demonstrated by my screenshot), but since i'm not the maintainer
i won't close the bug.

Is there a chance you could update to newer versions instead of the ones you
use?

--- Comment #1 from Albert Astals Cid <aa...@kde.org> ---
This is a weird crash.

It means somehow your settings broke.

It's "good" it happens all the time, but i can't see how it would happen.

Looking at the code there's two places where seenUIDs and timeOfSeenUids get
modified, POP3Resource::deleteJobResult and POP3Resource::saveSeenUIDList

In POP3Resource::saveSeenUIDList we do
  Q_ASSERT(seenUIDs.size() == timeOfSeenUIDs.size());
and then either
seenUIDs.append(uid);
timeOfSeenUIDs.append(time(nullptr));
or
uidIt = seenUIDs.erase(uidIt);
timeIt = timeOfSeenUIDs.erase(timeIt);
so the sizes should be the same always

In POP3Resource::deleteJobResult we do
Q_ASSERT(seenUIDs.size() == timeOfSeenUids.size());
and then either
seenUIDs.removeAt(index);
timeOfSeenUids.removeAt(index);

So they "should" be as big always.

Can you have a look at your config file and see if how different seenUIDs and
timeOfSeenUids are? Maybe we're hitting some limit in KConfig?

Ok, i got confused by Laurent pointing to seenUidTimeList, so the problem is
duplicated seenUidList values, yes that's not good.

Is this something that keeps happening? Or is it something that broke at some
point and now works?

Because the code is pretty explicit in doing

if (!seenUIDs.contains(uid))
seenUIDs.append(uid);

So it seems quite strange to me that this would break.

Also are you compiling things for yourself? Which branch?

It is not duplication, it's the time each of the ids of the messages was
seen/saved, it just happens that they were seen/saved, that is not a bug and is
always how it has worked, unless you know how the code works and you can prove
this is a bug i don't see why it would be a bug.

A duplicate seenUidTimeList is not a problem is it?

My rework to the pop3resource made it a bit slower when leaving messages on
server, but i was not expecting "for minutes"

I mean you have only around 55 items in seenUidTimeList it should not be that
horribly slow.

Can you check if reverting
https://github.com/KDE/kdepim-runtime/commit/e7ba619bef10fed4c1e623c61822da505b270d2a
makes it faster again?

The "Until I permanently delete them" functionality is simply not available in
kmail.

Though it should not redownload them after you have deleted them locally
though.

So i think that you should spawn a new wish report about The "Until I
permanently delete them"  functionality.

And also please update to the new kdepim based in KDE Frameworks 5 and check if
you still have this problem.

[kmail2] [Bug 338500] New: ValidateSendMailShortcut::validate use of KMessageBox::questionYesNoCancel is not good user experience wise

2014-08-23 Thread Albert Astals Cid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338500

Bug ID: 338500
   Summary: ValidateSendMailShortcut::validate use of
KMessageBox::questionYesNoCancel is not good user
experience wise
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: junior-jobs
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: aa...@kde.org

I just upgraded to 4.14.0, now on the first Ctrl+Enter to send i got this
dialog asking me what i wanted to do, i understand this is good because
previously sending emails without warning was a bit scary for some people.

The problem is that the dialog is a KMessageBox::questionYesNoCancel so if i
press the Esc key what gets triggered is the Cancel, so the dialog thinks
the person clicked on Sending Without Confirmation

Probably we should use something different than a
KMessageBox::questionYesNoCancel so that Esc either does nothing or something
more safe for what Esc usually means.

[kdepim] [Bug 323636] New: Save As overwrites file when choosing rename

2013-08-17 Thread Albert Astals Cid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323636

Bug ID: 323636
   Summary: Save As overwrites file when choosing rename
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kdepim
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: messageviewer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: aa...@kde.org
CC: mon...@kde.org

How to reproduce:
 * Get a mail with an attachment named Q
 * Right click on the attachment and choose save as
 * Go to a folder where you have a file named Q
 * Press Save
 * Get a dialog there's already a file named Q
 * Now you're going to loose your file named Q
 * Press rename
 * The file you had named Q is overwritten

It could be fixed by doing this

But probably should be fixed inside RenameFileDialog itself since there are
more users like kaddressbook/ that also seem to assume that the file they get
out of RenameFileDialog is good to go.
