[korganizer] [Bug 195180] Reminder presets - save reminders and enable/disable per event/todo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195180 Ben Opp changed: What|Removed |Added Version|4.2.4 |5.19.2 Platform|Ubuntu Packages |Manjaro CC||ben@eml.cc --- Comment #1 from Ben Opp --- I also would like to see a default set of reminders that is just set whenever creating a new event, and can be disabled/removed with own click. As a bit a of an ADS candidate (calendars are our best friends), I typically just put 3 reminders for any and all events: 1 day, 2 hours and 1 hour before. It's a bit of a simpler ask than OP's I believe, but also half way there, so could be considered a milestone. Currently, Korganizer actually has this, but with just one default reminder (https://superuser.com/a/1468188/403260). On a possible roadmap: - my requirement could be a next step, simply adding the option for more default reminders in that exact menu ( Menu -> Settings -> Configure KOrganizer -> Time and Date -> Default values -> Enable reminders for new events / to-dos). - The next IMO would be to make that one easier to find (what is it doing under "Time and Date" and behind five clicks?). - Further steps would lead up to OP's idea of several groups of default reminders (important, leisure, etc.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Especially > because I'm mailing with people in different timezones > this seems to be the better way instead of recalculating everything to my > local timezone without > any attached timezone information. As i understand from reading the source in templateparser.cpp this is actually the desired behavior of the %OTIME and %OTIMELONG pattern. But somehow the timezone information is passed either missing or passed incorrectly. I do not see whether this is a problem with the KMime library, templateparser or somewhere else in the kdepim infrastructure. Maybe it's Akonadi while providing the message? [Akonadi] [Bug 316840] New: imap resource starts crazy connect / disconnect cycle to mail server
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316840 Bug ID: 316840 Summary: imap resource starts crazy connect / disconnect cycle to mail server Classification: Unclassified Product: Akonadi Version: 1.9.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: IMAP resource Assignee: er...@kde.org Reporter: b...@hewson-venieri.com CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org To all outward appearances the imap connection is fine. However after discovering the mail server was filling up its log partion I discovered the following entries Mar 16 11:26:12 vmail1 imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[:::xx.xx.xx.x] Mar 16 11:26:12 vmail1 imapd-ssl: Disconnected, ip=[:::xx.xx.xx.xx], time=0, starttls=1 Mar 16 11:26:12 vmail1 imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[:::xx.xx.xx.xx] Mar 16 11:26:12 vmail1 imapd-ssl: Disconnected, ip=[:::xx.xx.xx.xx], time=0, starttls=1 Mar 16 11:26:12 vmail1 imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[:::xx.xx.xx.xx] Mar 16 11:26:12 vmail1 imapd-ssl: Disconnected, ip=[:::xx.xx.xx.xx], time=0, starttls=1 These are repeated at least 8-10 per second (from the same IP address), and once started, don't seem to stop. Removing the imap account from akonadi stops these messages. Using Thunderbird on the same computer to connect to the same server is fine. The mail server is running courier imap and I have not noticed this happen before. It looks like this started after a Kubuntu update - maybe to KDE 4.10.1, but I can't be sure of this. This is happening from two different computers, although both are running Kubuntu KDE 4.10.1 When initially adding an imap account everything is fine. The crazy connect/disconnects only start after a some minutes. It doesn't appear to be related to the mail check interval. I have tried with the default 5 minutes and at 1 minute. With time interval of 1 minute the craziness starts after approximately 30 minutes. I haven't timed it with a 5 minute check interval, but at a guess it was around a similar amount of time. I have not yet tried with interval mail checking disabled to see if the same thing happens, or if forcing a mail check from kmail can trigger this sooner. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: To see this you need access to mail server logs 1. setup an imap account 2. put a tail on mail server logs 3. after approximately 30 minutes, continuous connect/disconnects start -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

This leads to rounds of polite but slightly reproachful other emails asking the sender to re-send with the attachment, uncertainty on everyone's part that perhaps their mail client messed up, and general confusion and waste of time and bandwidth. To help reduce this problem, would it be possible to put pre-sending filters into the composer component? This could check for phrases or words which suggest that someone means to attach something, such as I've attached the ... and if it thinks you meant to add an attachment, pop up a little warning before sending. Naturally, add a prominent control to disable this helpful feature, since it will annoy the pants off many users - but for others it may save us from frequently looking like a dope in email to friends and colleagues. [Bug 205283] New: After creating a new distribution list, duplicate entries are added to all contacts with same name but no details
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205283 Summary: After creating a new distribution list, duplicate entries are added to all contacts with same name but no details Product: kontact Version: 4.3 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: bch...@artic.edu Version:(using KDE 4.3.0) OS:Linux Installed from:Ubuntu Packages I created a distribution list, and added some contacts to it. Now when I view the All Contacts list, the ones I added to the new list appear twice. Additionally, when I open one of the duplicates, all the fields are blank except the contact's name and email. In each pair of original and duplicate contacts in the list, the duplicate bogus one appears first. In this list view, on each original contact, the email address field appears to be vertically adjusted upwards, as if it had different line spacing; such that the top half of the text is obscured by the email address of the item above it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 204985] New: Kontact crash; kio-http won't start
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204985 Summary: Kontact crash; kio-http won't start Product: kontact Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: bch...@artic.edu Version: 4.3.0-0ubuntu1~jaunty1~ppa2 (using KDE 4.2.4) OS:Linux Installed from:Ubuntu Packages I'm not sure what triggered this crash exactly. The reporting assistant thinks it's helpful, though, so here it is :) kio-http doesn't launch anymore, so I had to enter it manually. I think it is because I am on Ubuntu Jaunty, had the kubuntu-ppa backports repository in my sources, and it recommended upgrading kontact from 4.2.4 to 4.3. I don't think it upgraded the rest of KDE, though, so that is probably the cause, not an actual bug.
