After I resume from suspend, akregator reports disconnted, when I try to
fetch feeds.

But network/internet is working, all other applications behave fine.

Restarting akregator does not help.

Workaround: logout from kde, and start new kde-session.

I have written a test feed, which delivers always new articles.
Akregator often ignores fetching new articles from that feed, although I have
deactivated browser-cache-settings in akregator settings.

But what always helps:
- go to akregator-config
- enable cache
- apply settings
- disable cache
- apply settings

from then on, the refresh works always for that session (until next restart of
akregator)

save it, a copy is stored in draft-folder. In most cases the original should be

In my last comment I did not ask for adding F3 as action for next search
result, but only for adding the possibility to add _any_ shortcut for that
action.

so that I go in kmail menu settings, open shortcuts dialog, and find an
action like next search result as action, which has an empty default value.
would that be possible?

ah, I noticed, that I have configured my kmail windows to be maximized. so try
to maximize your window, I think then you will be able to reproduce this.

please look at the screenshot for the too big search dialog. I also expect to
use the standard key F3 for next search result.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- open a mail you received
- open search dialog (with ctrl-f)
- search something

Actual Results:  
- the dialog takes too much space
- F3 shortcut does not work

Expected Results:  
- dialog should use less space
- keyboard shortcuts should work

I cannot define shortcuts. For example (german kmail version):

1. define the key r for marking ALL messages as read
2. define the key r for marking SELECTED messages as read, the previous
shortcut should be replaced (and is in shortcut-define-dialog)
3. now try to execute the r-shortcut on a selected mail (which has to be
unread)

-- an error message appears, that the shortcut r is defined twice. and when I
open the shortcut dialog once again, it is defined twice really.

I added a shortkey for clean trash (ctrl+M), and removed the shortkey for
ctrl+m=put all messages into trash. then I changed the folder on the left 1
time forth and back.after that trying the shortkey ctrl+M, it is reported as
defined twice, and really, in shortkey settings, the ctrl+m=put all messages
into trash is there again.

I upgraded to kde-4.7 and i am really shocked. I never used kwallet, and when I
try to receive my mails via pop3 nothing happens (kmail2 indicating it is
receiving but I can wait forever). Also I cannot edit the password-field in
configuration.

Also the upgrade process destroyed my folder structure, answer-templates are
lost. I am really shocked how this upgrade handles such sensible data.

In incoming (pop3) folder list view, some mails have date unknown. If I open
them in detail-view, they have a correct date set.

Never had such problems, and had no version upgrade. But I had deactivated
nepomuk for 1-2 days now, but no change after activating again. Is there a
relation?

I am very annoyed when I drag a file (image/pdf/..) to the composer window, and
think I attached it ,but somewhere on the screen, there is this little
context-menu, how to attach it (text or attachment). Really, who wants to paste
such a file as text such as file://myhome/myfile.txt And even if someone
likes to do so, he can choose it from the edit-menu.

Or when I paste with ctrl+v some text in the editor. who wants to paste that
as attachment?

please let kmail be intelligent about that, or at least introduce an option to
let kmail choose automatically the way it pastes things. it worked good in
previous kmail versions.

I have to reopen. I don't know what update is responsible for this. but:
- first I only upgraded the kde-4.4 libs and base to 4.4.4. then the bug
reappeared. and even after upgrading the rest (kde pim,..) the bug stays. so I
reopen.

For me editing contact groups works, but not as good as it could be (liked much
more the old addressbook), see bug 236707

But I had also problems with editing groups when I migrated to the new
addressbook. There are several ressource backends now, which make things
complicated.

Since its newest version, kmail always opens a context-menu somewhere on the
bottom of the screen (not where the cursor is, which is, where my eyes look,
when I want to paste text at a selected place, but where the mouse pointer is)
and asks if I want to paste the text as attachment or inline.

But I (and I think most else people when pasting text) simply want to paste the
text inline and not as attachent in 99% of the time. so please(!) let me be
able to disable this annoying selection, and perhaps let me choose a default
value.

I have looked for an option, to disable this, but have not found one.

I like to have an extra panel for contact groups. And I want to drag simply
contacts from the contact-list into groups to add them. I would also recommend

In kmail/kde3 I often pasted multiple addresses into the to/cc/bcc field and
kmail automatically splitted them up in a list. this does not work anymore in

manually one after another. Please fix this.

- start composing a new mail
- disable linebreak in option menu in that composition window
- paste a real long link with --characters in it in mail-text
result: the link is line-wrapped

this is really annoying especially for trying to send links to other people,
which seems impossible at the moment.

Thanks, I will try. But it is not good, when the other possibilities are not
working, when they are configurable in systemsettings (it is possible to switch
nepomuk off, and I have selected a vcard as a ressource I think). Then such
settings should not be possible. this should be fixed for 4.4.0 before much
more people will have problems with this. I will report if I get my problems
fixed with your solution.

everywhere. I hoped that solving this problem would perhaps also solve my kmail

- create a new folder and select mbox as format
- go to folder properties afterwards: it is in maildir format

In kaddressbook/kde3 there was a panel for groups. I like to be able to display
such a panel (optional). And to be able to drag and drop contacts to add it to

If I create a group, it is emptied (all contacts removed) after a few minutes
(I don't know how this is triggered: by time or by other changes I make to the
addressbook). Also groups seem not to be recognized correctly from kmail
(reported another bug, but it may be related, even when they are not
recognized, when the group is still filled)

I have a adressbook group named X. I chose as a mail receipient this
group (auto completion) X. The mail cannot be sent and the mail server
responds with invalid receipient: xx...@mycomputername

So kmail seems not to replace the adress-group name with its mail addresses.

Everytime I start kmail I get a warning message, that nepomuk is not running.
There is no option to disable it in the future.

When I can put nepomuk off in systemsettings, I may think, that it's ok to turn
it off..

I now have 1.12.3, problem is still present.

I can describe it a bit more specific now:
when I receive multiple mails (pop), kmail hangs at the start/end/between
receiving two mails (so it hangs not while receiving a long attachment).

The gui may not respond for a few seconds in worst case and does not even
repaint (put another application window in foreground, the put kmail in
foreground again).

Qt-Gui-Event-loop seems not to be called often enough on some operations?

I often use the drop-down-box of the check mail button, to check some other
mail accounts. These should be sorted somehow.

In kmail/kde3 in both - account settings and drop-down-box - they were sorted
after creation-date, I found that intuitive. now both sortings are differently.
so please make sorting possible in account-settings (up/down arrows) or always
sort alphabetically/by creation-date.

I like the new feature of threads in kmail/kde4. but it would be nice, to have
the possibility to show messages multiple-times, for example

- mail 2 of thread 1 from today 9:31
- mail 1 of thread 2 from today 9:10
- mail 1 of thread 1 from 3 days ago
 mail 2 of thread 1 from today 9:31 (this is the same as the first one)

So I would have the advantages of having an overview about the conversation,
but new messages would be appear on top, which is also very important.
