[kmail2] [Bug 342756] Clicking on read/unread icon in Kmail's message list removes attachment icon/flag instead

I canconfirm it too. Version 5.3. But attachment icon seems to dissapear
after marming email as read only when messageist theme "smart with
clickable status" ienabled. It does not happen with "smart" theme.

Yes, you are correct. Issue affects "smart with clickable status" theme. First
click removed attachment flag, subsequent clicks change read/unread status. Do
you know if kmail can be forced to recheck the flags and restore attachment
flags?

Hey. So OpenSuse has pushed 4.14.6 updates out this weekend, but I don't see
the fix. I'f I select e-mail with an attachment, and then click on the envelope
icon to make the message "unread" - the paper clip (attachment) icon
dissipaters forever.
Do I need to change some setting or do something in extra to get the patch to
work?

That is a good new. Thank you for the fix! But there is a downside to it as
well. It sais it is fixed in version 4.14.6, KDE website latest announcement is
that version 4.14.3 is released, OpneSUSE has pushed 4.14.4 to its users. With
KDE working hard on V5 (and I for one can't wait until is good enough for daily
use) 4.14.6 release seems to be some time away.

From what I understand, there was one line of code added to 6 files. Maybe
there is a way to match those files in 4.14.4? i'd appreciate if someone could
give instruction on how to patch it in.

[Akonadi] [Bug 342756] New: e-mails with attachments dont show attachmnent icon in Kmail

2015-01-11 Thread Larry CK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342756

Bug ID: 342756
Summary: e-mails with attachments dont show attachmnent icon in
Kmail
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Maildir Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: blackrave...@gmail.com

There are several Kmail bugs reporting issue with attachment icon (Bug 291332;
Bug 292399; Bug 286692).

Bug 291332 discussion suggests, that issue with attachment icon not showing up
in Kmail is to do with Akonadi. I'm sorry, if this bug is not properly filed as
I do not know Akonadi components.

I hope that Akonadi developes can resolve the issue as Kmail (Kontact) is great
application, but not being able to find required e-mail quickly is a deal
brakef for business use.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Konfigure e-mail account on Kontakt (Kmail). (I have tried with Gmail and
Exchange 2012 through DavMail)
2. Receive e-mail with attachment
3. View e-mail
4. Close Kontact (kmail)
5. Re-open Kontakt
6. Find the e-mail with attachment

Actual Results:
attachmnt icon next to an e-mail withattachment is not shown. Filteriing (to
show e-mail with atachments only) does not show e-mail with attachments, when
it should.

Expected Results:
Attachment icon is shown next to e-mails with attachments. Filtering e-mail
list (to show e-mail with attachments) procžduces a klist of e-mails with
attachmets in them.

Kmail Bug 291332 suggests the root cuse of the issue is in Akonadi

BUG 292399 report sais that it is resolved by resolving a duplicate bug 291332
(i.e.) this one. There also is a Bug 286692 that in esssence is the same as
292399 but is not resolved.
Basicaly, I've tried this on OpenSuse 13.1 and 13.2 and kmail 4.14.2 and 4.14.3
and attachment icon is till not shown. i've also tried in on kubuntu 14.10 with
kmail 4.14.1 and issue is present there as well. I've tried with MS Excahge
mail account connecting over DavMail and I've tried Gmail through IMAP directly
and attachment icons are not displayed. So what's the status on this? This is
very annoying bug! I'd love to use kmail for by business, but not this one bug
is holding me back.

[kmail2] [Bug 340516] New: [feature request] "Send and File" command for outgoing e-mails to automate e-mail sorting

2014-10-30 Thread Larry CK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340516

Bug ID: 340516
Summary: [feature request] "Send and File" command for outgoing
e-mails to automate e-mail sorting
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: blackrave...@gmail.com

Firstly, apologies if this is a wrong place for feature requests.

I have used Lotus Notes for quite some time and one thing I grew to love about
Lotus Notes is "Send and File" option. How it works is this:
1. Compose you e-mail
2. Hit "Send and File" button
3. Choose what folder to save copy of the e-mail to
4. e-mail is sent to recipient
5. e-mail is saved in SENT mail folder
6. Copy of the e-mail automatically saved in the folder specified in step 3

This is very convenient when you manage projects and need to separate
communication into folders and you can't make rules/filters for that.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
it a feature request

Using OpenSuse 13.1 (64bit). Resently upgraded to KDE 4.14.2 and Kontakt
version upgraded to 4.14.2 as well.

Attachment issue got kind off "better", but is still there. Now, for some
e-mails list will correctly show "has attachment" icon, for some e-mails the
"has attachment" icon appears (when there is an attachment) once I
activate/click on the e-mail message in the list, yet for other e-mails, that
do have attachments, clicking on the message does not help, kontakt/kmail
simply does not show the show the "has attachment" icon. E-mails without the
"has attachment" icon are not displayed when "messages with attachments" filter
is used. Is there any progress on this?

using KMail Version 4.10.5 on Opensuse 12.3 (64bit). Only search that somewhat
works - is search in subject field.

This is a deal breaker for me as I originally intended to use it for my work
