I was setting up some a new Gmail account in Kontact, after entering all the
details (IMAP and SMTP) I clicked 'Apply' and Kontact crashed.

This is not the first Gmail account I have added. Last time I did not see a

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I had just booted my computer. KTorrent was the only other application running.
I started Kontact (PIM) and entered my KWallet password as usual. The crash
report appeared immediately, the main Kontact window did not appear on screen.

I tried re-starting Kontact but get this message:
Kontact already seems to be running on another display on this machine. Running
Kontact more than once can cause the loss of mail. You should not start Kontact
unless you are sure that it is not already running.

This is the first time I rebooted the computer since upgrading from KDE 4.5.4
to 4.5.5 (via repository update kubuntu-ppa).

[Bug 246923] Kontact crashed as soon as I move appointment in KOrganizer

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246923

--- Comment #1 from Nick Elliott nicholas elliott1 ntlworld com 2010-08-07
11:47:08 ---
I can confirm that the individual PIM applications run without difficulty
though KOrganizer crashes everytime on exit.

However whenever I try to run Kontact it crashes before opening.

[Bug 246923] New: Kontact crashed as soon as I move appointment in KOrganizer

2010-08-06 Thread Nick Elliott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246923

Summary: Kontact crashed as soon as I move appointment in
KOrganizer
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.4.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: nicholas.ellio...@ntlworld.com

Application: kontact (4.4.5)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)
Qt Version: 4.6.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
These problems started as soon as I switched my calendar to the Akonadi
Calendar resource, before then I was experiencing no difficulties. Now the
Kontact application is very unstable and prone to frequent (lock-ups) crashes.
At this point Akonadi stops and I usually have to reboot in order to re-start
Kontact. I will try running the Kontact applications individually to see if
they behave when not running as part of the Kontact suite,.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 204215] New: kontact crashes on exit

2009-08-17 Thread Nick Elliott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204215

   Summary: kontact crashes on exit
   Product: kontact
   Version: 1.4.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: nicholas.ellio...@ntlworld.com

Version: 1.4.4 (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

Every time I close Kontact it crashes 'signal 6 (SIGABRT)'. It seems to be
specific to Kontact, I don't see a crash if I open the individual components
(KMail, KOrganizer etc.)

This started happening about 6 days ago.

Application: Kontact (kontact), signal SIGABRT
