[kmail2] [Bug 336010] New: Ctrl+V in text mode does nothing when pasting
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336010 Bug ID: 336010 Summary: Ctrl+V in text mode does nothing when pasting Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: 4.12.3 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: composer Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: sab...@kdab.net When trying to paste data from a table by selecting several cells and pasting them in a Composer in Kmail does nothing when in text mode. Ctrl+shift+V has to be used for it to work Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet containing at least two different cells with text in the same row 2. Select the two cells and press Ctrl+C to copy their content 3. Launch Kmail 4. Click on 'New Message' to open a Composer 5. Go to Options menu and if 'Rich Text Editing' is checked, uncheck it to be in text mode 6. Press Ctrl+V Actual Results: Nothing happens whereas in previous version of Kmail it used to paste the contain of the cells that where selected in the spreadsheet into the Composer. Expected Results: Now to be able to do so you have to press Ctrl + Shift + V which is harder to find and a longer shortcut. Since Ctrl + V does nothing anymore in the text mode why not make it the default shortcut like it used to be to paste text from several cells? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335876 Bug ID: 335876 Summary: User is stuck on 'Welcome to KMail' page after viewing it Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: 4.12.3 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: sab...@kdab.net When checking KMail version the user is stuck on that view and cannot get back to reading emails. He has to quit Kmail and relauch it to do so whereas it worked in previous versions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Kmail 2. Click on a folder from folder view and then on an email to view it 3. Now go to menu Settings/Configure Kmail... 3. A black background page is displayed with 'Welcome to KMail 4.12.2' 4. Now try clicking back on the folder to display the same email Actual Results: It does not work whereas it did in previous versions. The users is stuck on the 'Welcome to KMail' view and even if he tries to select a different folder from folder view it does not work either. The only option is to quit Kontact. Note: This is not due to the fact that Kmail is synching for new emails as I have waited until the sync was done and tried to click on a folder and it still did not work. [Bug 252804] Incremental search not implemented in 'Local subscriptions' dialogue
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=252804 --- Comment #1 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2011-01-21 21:51:04 --- I retested this bug today and it is partially corrected: The user can now enter a letter and the N900 will automatically list the first folder starting with that letter. Unfortunately, since the folders are listed with their path in the 'Local Suscription dialogue', they all either start by 'L' for Local Folders or say 'I' for the Imap account: * Local Folder/Folder 1 * Local Folder/Folder 1/Folder a * Imap account/Inbox * Imap account/Inbox/Folder 1 * Imap account/Inbox/Folder 1/Folder b... So I still think that having a search line edit would be a lot more useful. [Bug 263925] New: No display update after moving a folder up one level
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=263925 Summary: No display update after moving a folder up one level Product: KMail Mobile Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS:Linux After moving a folder up one level the N900 still display the old folder location even after 2 minutes. The user has to go back to its Imap Inbox manually and only then she can see that moving the folder worked. I think it would be a lot more efficient if the view was updated once the folder has been moved (ex: automatically go to folder up one more level than the one that was moved) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Prerequisite: create a Folder A and 1 subfolder called Folder B (= Imap inbox/Folder A/Folder B) - Launch Kmail-mobile - Click on your Imap inbox - Click on Folder A - Click on Folder B - Open the 'Actions' tab - Click on 'Edit' - Click on 'Move Folder To...' - A dialogue opens listing all the possible destination for the selected subfolder - Select 'Imap inbox' - Click on 'Ok' Actual Results: Nothing happens even after 2 minutes. The N900 still displays Folder B eventhough it has been moved up one level and should now be a subfolder of the Imap Inbox Expected Results: The N900 should display the Imap inbox to show that Folder B has been properly moved one level. Note: Folder B has indeed been moved properly up one level but the user can only realize it if she goes back manually to the Imap Inbox. And even then, it does not help that it takes 30s (no sync required) before the change is displayed in Folder view. What is worse is that if the user does nothing the N900 still displays Folder B so she can move it again if she does not realize that it in fact was moved successfully already! A pop up 'Error' dialogue appears saying 'Unknow error' if the user tried to move twice the same folder to two different locations in a row. [Bug 263931] New: Emails not received anymore after midnight automatic Imap resource deconnexion
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=263931 Summary: Emails not received anymore after midnight automatic Imap resource deconnexion Product: KMail Mobile Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS:Linux At midnight every day the Imap resource disconnects itself as it can be seen on Akonadi console. However, it does not reconnect automatically so no mails can be received after that. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Prerequisite: testing this bug about 15 minutes before midnight - Connect Akonadi console to the N900 - Launch Kmail-mobile - Check that in Akonadi console both Local Folders and the Imap resource have a green dot icon and 'Ready' written next to them. - Open 'Actions' tab - Click on 'Home' - Click on 'Synchronize All Accounts' - Check in Akonadi console that synchronizing Local Folders and Imap resource work fine - Wait for midnight - The Imap resource is automatically disconnected. In Akonadi console you can see a plug icon and the following message 'Could not connect to the IMAP-server NameOfTheServer. Failed to connect to server'. - Open 'Actions' tab - Click on 'Home' - Click on 'Synchronize All Accounts' Actual Results: Local Folders syncs fine whereas the Imap resource does not sync anymore. Nothing happens even after 30 min and several manual synchronizations. Expected Results: The Imap resource should reconnect automatically after the set 'Interval mail checking' (ie 5 minutes for me) Note: This prevents the user to receive any new emails and at the moment the only way to make the Imap resource reconnect and sync properly is by using akonadi console (Toggle Online/Offline option). [Bug 251473] Akonadi server stop prevents quitting Kmail-mobile

It is only partly corrected I am afraid. Here are the different possible cases: 1. Akonadi server stops unexpectingly and the user wishes to quit Kmail-mobile. = She then uses the 'Quit' button that you added. 2. The user clicks on 'Start' button and Akonadi server is relaunched successfully and the user resumes using Kmail-mobile. = She does not need to use the 'Quit' button. 3. The user clicks on 'Start' button but Akonadi server is not relaunched successfully. Only a 'Details...' button is displayed and the user cannot minimize the application to close it (see attachement enclosed). = The user could really use a 'Quit' button is this last case. Because of this I am reopening this bug. Here are more detailed steps to reproduce this bug: - Launch Kmail-mobile - Stop akonadi server (from a terminal for example) - Kmail-mobile main screen becomes dark and there an error message and a 'Start' and 'Quit' button - Click on the 'Start' button (if Akonadi server restarts properly repeat stopping it and starting it until it does not) - The main screen becomes dark again with a 'The Akonadi personal information management service is not operational' message and only a 'Details...' button The user cannot quit Kmail-mobile in that case even by minimizing the application so a 'Quit' button there would be really useful. [Bug 250022] Kmail-mobile non-responsive while syncing the Imap resource
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=250022 --- Comment #4 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-12-20 22:34:30 --- I retested this today and I was able to write emails, to browse between folders in the folder view and to open and close tabs while the Imap resource was syncing though it was fairly slow (Especially lauching the Composer which took about 20s and emails appearing in Message List, the rest was ok in my opinion). I guess there is a jugement call to be made on whether this is acceptable or not. Till what do you think? Note: this test was made with 'Enable Serverside Subscription' checked. See Bug #252164 for the same bug with 'Enable Serverside subscription' unchecked. Thx Tobias ;o) Here are the correct steps to test it: - Launch Kmail-mobile - Open the 'Actions' tab - Click on 'Identities' - Select an already existing identity (ex: Recipient A) - Click on 'Modify' button - Click on the 'Advanced' tab - Enter an email address (Recipient B) in the 'BCC addresses' line edit - Click on 'Ok' twice and close the 'Actions' tab - Click on 'Write new Email' - In the composer, select the identity you've modified as the sender (Recipient A) - Enter a subject, a few words and a recipient (Recipient C) - Click on 'Send' - The email is sent and received properly by Recipient C However, Recipient B never receives a copy of the email whereas he should so I am reopening this bug. Note: I retested this on the N900 today using 3 differents email addresses (A: personal address, B: work address and C: Imap testing address on the N900). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: - Launch Kmail-mobile - Click on 'Write new email' - Enter a subject, a recipient (choose an email that you can read on your desktop computer and a different one than your Imap testing email since you should use it as the sender's email) and a few words in the editor - Open the 'Actions' tab - Click on 'Options' - Click on ' Request Notification' to highlight it - Click on 'Send' - The recipient receives the email properly - The recipient clicks on the email and see the pop up notification dialogue appearing - The recipient should click on 'Send' Actual Results: There is a 'sending failed' pop up error message saying: 'Transport 'kdab 1' is invalid preventing the recipient to send back a notification. [Bug 247784] Configure notifications functionality missing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=247784 --- Comment #8 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-12-15 23:44:46 --- I retested this today and here are better steps to reproduce: - Write an email from your desktop computer to your Imap email address on the N900 - Click on the Composer Options menu and select 'Request Dispostion Notification' - Click on 'Send' button - Launch Kmail-mobile - Click on your Imap inbox - Click on the email you sent on the N900 I am guessing that like in Kmail desktop, a pop up 'Message Disposition Notification Request' dialogue should appear on the N900 with the following message: 'This message contains a request to return a notification about your reception of the message. You can either ignore the request or let KMail send a denied or normal response.' It should have 3 buttons: 'ignore' 'Send''Denied'' ' and 'Send' However, no dialogue appears on the N900 atm clicking on the email just allows the user to view the message body. This is most probably due to the fact that I could not find the same functionality as in Kmail Desktop (In the Configure Kmail dialogue - Security - Message Disposition Notifications the send policy has to be set to Ask otherwise no pop up dialogue appear).
