But it maybe very well be that it only happens with moving multiple messages at

guess the name of the option should be Reply/forward using HTML if present

[Akonadi] [Bug 318705] only one Google calendar is shown in KOrganizer

2013-04-23 Thread Silver Salonen

From Akonadi Console I took Browser and browsing my calendar just stays busy -
it shows count, but nothing else.
When I check Debugger, I see akonadi_nepomuk_feeder going through my e-mails
and at the bottom there's an error

registered.

After enabling debugging from kdebugdialog, I did:

[Akonadi] [Bug 318705] New: one Google calendar is not shown in KOrganizer

2013-04-22 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318705

Bug ID: 318705
Summary: one Google calendar is not shown in KOrganizer
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Google Resource
  Assignee: dvra...@redhat.com
  Reporter: silver.salo...@gmail.com
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

I have 3 calendars in my Google account - 2 of them are my own calendars and 1
is a shared calendar. Some time after adding Google resource to Akonadi only 1
of these calendars is shown in KOrganizer.

I've tried:
  - removing and re-adding Google resource
  - checking/unchecking different calendars

But it always ends up the same - my own calendar is not shown.

Additionally, my own calendar is shown twice under my google calendar folder.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add Google resource
2. Restart KDE/Akonadi
Actual Results:
Only one calendar (shared one in my case - maybe it's because it's
alphabetically first) is shown in KOrganizer.

Expected Results:
All enabled calendars should be shown in KOrganizer.

the principle that it should always be the same state as it was the last
 time we use it.

Actually it is not true:
1. Check Reply using HTML if present
2. Uncheck Options - Formatting (HTML)
3. Start replying to a HTML e-mail -- Reply using HTML if present is checked
by itself

So there is no such principle and thus, why not implement the 1st idea?

OK, if it is really so important to keep the option always the same.

Another possibility to make switching between plain-text and HTML replies
better, is still waiting feedback in bug 316917.

And yet another is to make a toolbar button for setting Reply using HTML if
present. What do you think about this?

  Reporter: silver.salo...@gmail.com

Usage of options Reply using HTML if present and Options - Formatting
(HTML) clash a bit: when Reply using HTML if present is unchecked and
Options - Formatting (HTML) is checked from the last time, the quotation of
an HTML e-mail is made plain-text (Reply using HTML if present off), but the
reply itself is still HTML (Options - Formatting (HTML) on). It would be
more logical if the composer would be put to plain-text mode when replying with
plain-text.

I understand that this breaks the current usage of Options - Formatting
(HTML) - the principle that it should always be the same state as it was the
last time. Or is there such a principle at all? If not, dynamically setting
this option to on/off would not be a problem, I guess?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Check Options - Formatting (HTML)
2. Uncheck Reply using HTML if present
3. Start replying to an HTML e-mail
Actual Results:
Composer is in HTML mode

As it sometimes happens that HTML-reply is not very consistent with the
original HTML-code, I'd like to switch from replying with HTML to replying by
plain text. When I just uncheck Options - Formatting (HTML) the original
e-mail is not quoted properly as it is when unchecking Reply using HTML if
present.

As Options - Formatting (HTML) is not intended only for replying I guess it
wouldn't do to change the behavior of this option. There should still be some
easy way to reply to individual e-mails with proper plain-text quotations (or
switch to the quotations while replying, but I guess that would be not so easy
to implement).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Check setting Reply using HTML if present
2. Open some HTML-email
3. Reply to it
Actual Results:
If quoted HTML-code is not of satisfactory and plain-text reply is preferred,
the Reply using HTML if present setting needs to be unchecked and checked
after replying to the e-mail. It's just inconvenient.

Expected Results:
It would be much easier if there would be a button to reply with plain-text
quotation.

[kmail2] [Bug 288364] Retrieving Folder Contents hanging without showing content

2013-03-15 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288364

--- Comment #37 from Silver Salonen silver.salo...@gmail.com ---
As I had problems with Akonadi overall after upgrading to KDE 4.10, I just
deleted all Akonadi and Nepomuk data and started over. At first attempt when
Nepomuk was enabled some system components hanged so much that I didn't even
get to use Dolphin.
I disabled Nepomuk and started over again. After re-adding Akonadi resources I
enabled Nepomuk for email indexing only and now it is working OK.

So maybe you could just try resetting your settings and Akonadi data?

PS. I'm on openSUSE 12.3 and KDE 4.10.1 as well.

I did:

mv .config/akonadi .config/akonadi.bak
mkdir .kde4/share/config/akonadi.bak

mv .kde4/share/apps/akonadi_nepomuk_feeder
.kde4/share/apps/akonadi_nepomuk_feeder.bak
mv .kde4/share/apps/akonadi-davgroupware
.kde4/share/apps/akonadi-davgroupware.bak

And started over with Akonadi. It works now.

I kept the backups in case any developer is interested in debugging and wants
me to try or check anything.

I have upgraded to 4.10 RC2 (from RC1) and now all Akonadi-related stuff seems
to be not working. Eg. KMail IMAP resources, DAV calendar resources, Nepomuk
file indexing.
I tried adding new DAV resource, but once the resource is added, no wizard pops

When I send some long line from KMail and reply comes from Thunderbird, the
line is split into multiple lines although there is no character limit for line
length.
Replies from eg. MS Outlook look fine though. The long line looks OK in both
Thunderbird message viewer and reply composer.
But I guess there is something that is inserted in the HTML-contents as it's
broken every time after getting a reply from Thunderbird.

Example, I copy-pasted from this very page one line and replied to it from
Thunderbird.

I agree - although KMail does an acceptable job for me, sometimes the changed
e-mail contents is still very important and I end up using some other e-mail

One more thing that frequently happens is that HTML-tables lose borders in

The simplest thing would be to at least limit the replacing to only 1
occurrence. Because there is no reason to replace all the occurrences of the
signature, even if the signature-to-be-replaced is found elsewhere in the
document.
If signature is configured to be added at the end, the replacement should start
from the end.

I have configured my signature to be HTML. My reply template is:

Every time my signature is used in HTML-reply, there is an empty line added
between '--' and my signature. If the reply is plain text, signature starts
right after '--'.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add HTML-signature for an identity

3. Reply to HTML-email, using HTML as well
Actual Results:
There's an empty line before the signature

There should be no empty line

be HTML (option Formatting (HTML) is enabled). In this case there's no empty

I re-edited my HTML-signature in 'emailidentities' file by hand - deleted all
unnecessary HTML-code and it seemed to fix it. The empty line is gone after I
took the signature out of separate paragraph (p/p). The HTML-code had gone
there by copy-pasting the same signature from one place to another.

Anyhow, maybe KMail should handle HTML-signature more carefully, eg. delete
some unnecessary tags upon saving it? HTML-code editor directly in the identity
configurator would also help a bit..

[Bug 310139] New: my name is added to identity's reply-to address

2012-11-15 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310139

Bug ID: 310139
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.9.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: my name is added to identity's reply-to address
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: silver.salo...@gmail.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

I have configured a reply-to address for one of my identities. Also I've
configured 1 folder to use that identity. When I now create message while being
in that folder, that identity is used, but my name is added to reply-to address
(it should not). When I use the same identity by changing identity from
composer, the name is not added.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an identity with reply-to address
2. Set that identity to be used for some folder
3. Create a message (new message or reply or forward) while being in that
folder
Actual Results:
My name is added to reply-to address

Expected Results:
Reply-to address should be as set in identity

I use IMAP-account.

--- Comment #4 from Silver Salonen silver.salo...@gmail.com ---
Just to be precise (I just gave my reproducing procedure another go and the
results are the same):
1. I set 'silver.salo...@mydomain.com' as reply-to address
2. From 'Folder Properties...' I choose that new identity as 'Sender identity'
3. When I create a new message while being in that folder, reply-to address is
set to 'Silver Salonen silver.salo...@mydomain.com'.
4. When I choose some other identity and choose the previous identity again,
reply-to address is set to 'silver.salo...@mydomain.com' (correctly now)

You know, actually I can reproduce the same thing with my default identity.
Just skip step 2 and create the message from any folder.

This does not happen in 4.9.3 for me.

BTW, I did not use KMail for quite a long time now, and I also re-created 1 of
my 2 IMAP-accounts.

It seems moving folders by dragdrop works in KMail2 (4.9.0 currently).
