In Korganizer, I do a right-clik on an event and choose "send as iCalendar".
Then I choose the recipient, click OK,
and it crashes.

Note: I do not compose as HTML, all emails are in the same folder, and there is
no special template.
I started seeing this regression recently (5.15 I believe).

When replying to a mailing list message, the mailing list address is added as
Cc even if it is already part of the original recipients.
The consequence is to have to mailing list added 2 times.

Given a mailing-list address does not need to have a name, I would prefer
removing the original one (which may have a name added by the original sender)
and keep the one added by kmail in Cc.

Hi,

I am using KMail 5.7.3 in ArchLinux.
Since recently (not sure about the version number), I have some delay when
sending emails.

I tried enabling logs with
kdebugsettings
export KSMTP_SESSION_LOG=/tmp/smtp.log
akonadictl restart

Most of the time, the first send attempt fails:

journalctl:

No it's not enough because these files are never removed.
So my /tmp is filling and it prevents me from seeing my new files in /tmp.

The advantage is to keep /tmp clean.
I use /tmp a lot and I need to keep it clean.

About Ctrl+C, not a big issue, but strange. Issue with catching SIGINT?

About your fix, is it cleaning temp files only on crash?
My issue is that these files are filling /tmp when kmail is running.
Is it possible to avoid creating these files at the first place?
Or could they be created in a subfolder of /tmp?

When writing part of a name in the recipient field, some contact suggestions
appear. Then we have to choose one among some outdated email contacts or some
picked from emails received with address typo in Cc.
In order to suggest the best one first, I think these sorting rules could be
used:
- contacts from sent mails first
- latest sent mails first
- for contacts from received emails, most frequent occurences first

About the format of the recipient contact, we often have this because of
Outlook emails:
"contact.n...@company.com"
The first part is useless and could be automatically converted to
contact.n...@company.com
It would be simpler to visually parse.

Thanks

--- Comment #9 from Thomas Monjalon <tho...@monjalon.net> ---
I still see some messageviewer files leaked in /tmp:
messageviewer_ATD826.index.1
messageviewer_Fkk826.index.1.1
messageviewer_GzU826.index.1
messageviewer_HrO826.index.
messageviewer_JXF826.index.1
messageviewer_JhV826.index.

It seems created for every mails I open, even without attachment.

I use Kmail 5.6.0 from Archlinux.

Can we re-open the bug?
Which information should I provide to help finding the root cause?

A comment in ArchLinux explains how to make it working after an upgrade to KDE
4.6 :
uninstall akonadi-googledata
remove the akonadi google source in akonadi configuration
restart akonadi
install akonadi-googledata
restart akonadi
add the akonadi google source
restart akonadi

It works !
