https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311104 --- Comment #7 from csbugs b...@clearingstelle-eeg.de --- That may be so or not. From a user's point of view, in an office environment you need these features for your daily work (In reply to comment #6) Now we use QPrinter from Qt4 KPRinter was removed = all theses features were removed in kde4 So we readd some feature but not all. You're basically saying that technically my bug is enhancement wish, right? That may be so or not. From a user's point of view, you simply can't get real world work done in an efficient way with KMail in it's current state. These are really basic printing options that users rightly take for granted. On a side note: To my personal opinion, if KDE SC doesn't provide features like the above, it will loose attractiveness compared to other OSs/desktop environments and will become a thing for fan boys' home use. KWrite). Due to this, the last text line in prints is split *horizontally*. This makes reading sometimes really hard. Since the last few options to use KDE3 in a reasonable way are fading now, I will have to migrate my small enterprise (~15 people) to KDE 4 soon. They will not be amused to have to cope with this crippled functionality. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Print an email from KMail which is more than one page long 2. 3. Actual Results: In most cases, the page is cut where the page margin ends - and be it the vertical middle of a line of text Expected Results: The page is split *between* two lines of text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 311107] New: Crippled printing: KMail doesn't honor the duplex setting in the print dialog
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311107 Bug ID: 311107 Severity: normal Version: 4.9.3 Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: Crippled printing: KMail doesn't honor the duplex setting in the print dialog Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: b...@clearingstelle-eeg.de Hardware: openSUSE RPMs Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: commands and actions Product: kmail2 If I try to print out an email, the duplex setting of the printing dialog is disregarded. Due to this bug, one has to print to PDF first, then open the PDF with Okular and then print. This is no option in a professional office environment. Since the last few options to use KDE3 in a reasonable way are fading now, I will have to migrate my small enterprise (~15 people) to KDE 4 soon. They will not be amused to have to cope with this crippled functionality. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to print an email longer than 1 page with duplex enabled in the printing dialog 2. 3. Actual Results: Two sheets of paper used where one had sufficed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 311112] New: No easy way to share distribution lists
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32 Bug ID: 32 Severity: normal Version: 1.8.1 Priority: NOR CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org Assignee: to...@kde.org Summary: No easy way to share distribution lists Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: b...@clearingstelle-eeg.de Hardware: openSUSE RPMs Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: Contacts resource Product: Akonadi The old style distribution lists are not any longer recognized (see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303682#c3). The new akonadi-style distribution lists (eg found in XML files like ~/.local/share/contacts/{----}.ctg) have only references internal to akonadi (UIDs) - so there seems to be nothing which could be used to define shared distribution lists across different machines/users/akonadi instances. Together with the various bugs regarding distribution lists defined in groupware servers this is a bad situation in any professional office environment. Since the last few options to use KDE3 in a reasonable way are fading now, I will have to migrate my small enterprise (~15 people) to KDE 4 soon. [Bug 311114] New: Distribution lists get converted to empty contact entries
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34 Bug ID: 34 Severity: normal Version: 1.8.1 Priority: NOR Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Summary: Distribution lists get converted to empty contact entries Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux Reporter: b...@clearingstelle-eeg.de Hardware: openSUSE RPMs Status: UNCONFIRMED Component: DAV Resource Product: Akonadi At least with a recent eGroupware (1.8.004) contact groups won't get recognized properly using the webdav/carddav protocol. Together with the limitations of locally defined distribution lists (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32) this is a bad situation in any professional office environment. To keep dist lists in sync on more than 2 machines becomes a major task like this. P.S.: This could be a duplicate of bug 303682, but since that one is defined in the Kolab Resource, I decided to open a new one. [Bug 259039] Bad encoding in message body when creating mail from command line
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259039 --- Comment #7 from csbugs b...@clearingstelle-eeg.de --- Well, FWIW: Initially I thought KMail would simply interpret the CLI input as latin-1 or similar, because Beste Grüße became Beste GrüÃe. But when I do something like $ body=$(echo Beste Grüße|iconv -f utf8 -t iso8859-1) $ echo $body Beste Gre $ kmail --body $body someb...@somewhere.tld I get the following in the mail body: Beste Gre So I can't even work around this bug in scripts - and that *is* bad news. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
