[Bug 259421] New: Kmail 4.4.8 displays messages as empty
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259421 Summary: Kmail 4.4.8 displays messages as empty Product: kmail Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: moabi2...@gmail.com Created an attachment (id=54383) -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=54383) screenshort showing how kmail shows messages as empty Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.85) OS:Linux Kmail has suddenly started displaying messages as empty. The mails arrive ok in inbox on a pop mail check, headers and text are visible. However clicking on the messages in the message list causes the message to be displayed as empty and the subject and from headers to be unknown (in fact in one message subject and from have remained visible, but body is empty, for others headers are empty too). See attached screenshot. This happens with every message. I am storing messages in maildir. Opening the maildir in another client - mutt or gnus (with kmail closed) shows the messages are still there and can be read normally. The files therefore seem not to be damaged, it is a display problem in kmail. However, the effect is equivalent to dataloss. I am running kdepim 4.4.8 on kde 4.6 beta 2. [Bug 259143] Kaddressbook loses addresses
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259143 --- Comment #4 from mps moabi2000 gmail com 2010-12-09 19:43:36 --- Hi Tobias, Thanks for the clarification and advice - I shall have to go back to 4.5, which is a pity. I must say that given the current state of kmail 2 (just look at the severity of the 200 or so open bugs - apart from the huge cpu use problem, there is data loss, missing core functionality, emails getting sent multiple times, you name it) I think this is extremely unfortunate. Releasing 4.6 with the only kdepim option being 4.6 in this state is going to get KDE *WAY* more flak than the 4.0 release ever did. I know there are a few more weeks of fixing to go before the release, so maybe I am too pessimistic, but something to consider I think. Bon courage! Opening kaddressbook I found that the list of names was replaced by a list of the vcard filenames (see attached screenshots). Clicking on one of the filenames to try to show the address causes a crash (backtrace - a bit bizzare - below). It is impossible to add new addresses to either the local contacts or personal addressbook. The files do still exist. I am running kdepim 4.4.8 on kde sc 4.6 beta 2. Akonadi is 1.4.80. [Bug 249987] New: Kmail 2 does not warn that migration will use a large amount of disk space/does not calculate the space required
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249987 Summary: Kmail 2 does not warn that migration will use a large amount of disk space/does not calculate the space required Product: KMail 2 Version: 2.0 beta1 Platform: Unlisted Binaries OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: moabi2...@gmail.com Version: 2.0 beta1 (using KDE 4.5.0) OS:Linux I migrated to kmail 2 (kdepim 4.4.93). My setup is based only on pop and maildir. Migration has so far consumed 3.5 Gb (and indexing continues). This used up all free space in my /home. Kmail should a) warn that migration requires significant disk space and b) if possible estimate the space required and warn the user if there is not enough. This is a problem, because in my case I ran out of space and so kmail wouldn't show me message bodies until I freed up more space. I realise that it is probably akonadi/nepomuk actually using the space, but the kmail migration should warn before starting. On the good side, once I freed up diskspace, it all worked fine. Well done! Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Migrate a existing maildir hierarchy to kmail 2 under conditions of low disk space. In my case free space was about 1/5 of the total size of my maildirs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
