[kmail2] [Bug 223034] cannot send mail to distribution list

2013-09-15 Thread postdoc38
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=223034

I am really sorry to say that, but, no, it still doesn't work in kde 4.11.1,
opensuse packages.

A _single_ email now gets send to server (google in my case) for delivery, but
the recipient is still list_name@computer_name. Bummer.

What should I do?

@Neil Thanks for the script!! I am not sure if this is what solved it for me
or the good ol'

rm -rf `find ~/ -name *nepomuk*`

that I had forgotten to run before trying to send an email, silly me.

Anyway, it now works for me (at least until the next upgrade ;-).

[Akonadi] [Bug 267483] akonadi silently not syncing on reboot or resume from suspend to disk

restart akonadi on new internet connection

I got tired of wondering if akonadi was working properly after resume, so I
wrote two scripts that restart akonadi when internet connection is restored
(i.e. each time a wlan or eth interface is up).

Alternatively, if you want to be less aggressive, in 50-restart_akonadi, you
can use the script from comment 8 above
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=267483#c8) to only trigger a refresh of
the resources...

Doesn't work either on opensuse 12.2, kde 4.10.

And I thought gone where the days when upgrading kde would inevitably break
kmail and necessit hours of fidgeting, reconfiguration and workarounds... Well,
at least one can now get rid of nepomuk and have a working email client (albeit
with no distribution lists). Oh wait, wasn't that what we had when this all
started?

Looking at an old computer that still had kde 4.8.3, I realized that I am
actually missing the middle panel (the one with the name title). This is
weird, as I set the view to show all three panels.

[Bug 259949] Kmail does not use all addressbooks for autocompletion

@andreas: don't forget autocompletion uses the new iliketomessup framework
which is great as it can also be used to transform water into beer.
Unfortunately, the beer component is ... well not completely ready yet, and I'd
rather the devs work on that, as I'm sure there is a big market for it, even if
in the mean time, I'll have to make with an indexer using 100% of my CPU
forever...

[Bug 259949] Kmail does not use all addressbooks for autocompletion

2011-11-10 Thread postdoc38
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259949

--- Comment #39 from postdoc38 yahoo fr 2011-11-10 13:58:06 ---
In my experience, autocompletion is a totally unreliable feature so far.
Sometimes it works, sometime not. It might be my fault as I update kde
regularly (once a week or more), waiting for other long standing bugs to be
resolved.

However, autocompletion has always worked for *some* time after wiping all
akonadi/nepomuk stuff (see commands below) then redefining all akonadi
resources (addressbooks, IMAP resources and the like).

Beware that you will need to reenter all your credentials for all your email
accounts, aso. A major pain in the a.. just to get autocompletion working until
...

wiping commands:

rm -rf `find ~/.kde4 -name *ako*`
rm -rf `find ~/.kde4 -name *nepo*`

then do the same for ~/.kde, ~/.local and ~/.config

[Bug 277403] New: autocompletion doesn't work

2011-07-09 Thread postdoc38
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277403

   Summary: autocompletion doesn't work
   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: postdo...@yahoo.fr

Version: Git (master) (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS:Linux

I have a googledata akonadi addressbook, which is the only addressbook I have.

The addressbook shows up fine in kaddressbook or kontact, and does appear (and
is the only entry) in the autocompletion list in the configure completion
order setting.

However, it is not used in the to field in composer. Whether I type a full
name or a few letters of a contact, only the recent addresses are shown, not
the akonadi addressbook.

I use git version of the PIM suite, that I update weekly. In the last few
months, the autocompletion feature has been working about 50% of the time,
without me changing any setting. Kind of weird...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
compose new mail, start typing name of contact in akonadi addressbook

Actual Results:
nothing happens

Expected Results:
autocompletion should use akonadi addressbook

--- Comment #1 from postdoc38 yahoo fr 2011-07-09 08:37:58 ---
Actually, if I do akonadictl stop then akonadictl start in a konsole, and then
try to compose a new message, when typing a contact name, the konsole gets
filled with

Could not contact query service.
QStringList Akonadi::NepomukSearch::search(const QString)
CallingblockingQuery() failed!

Hope that helps...

[Bug 267483] akonadi silently not syncing on reboot or resume from suspend to disk

Just talking to myself, here. Apprently, the issue is that akonadi does not
recover from losing the internet connection, such as when my wifi card goes
south...

[Bug 267483] akonadi silently not syncing on reboot or resume from suspend to disk

This problem now happens even while my laptop is running, now. At some point,
akonadiconsole shows every resource working fine, then, silently, two hours
later NONE of them are connected. No other sign of error besides looking at
akonadiconsole. This unreliability makes the kmail/akonadi system totally
useless, unfortunately.

[Bug 267483] New: akonadi silently not syncing on reboot or resume from suspend to disk

2011-03-02 Thread postdoc38
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=267483

Summary: akonadi silently not syncing on reboot or resume from
suspend to disk
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: postdo...@yahoo.fr

Created an attachment (id=57611)
 -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=57611)
example of akonadi sync failure after reboot

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS:Linux

I have four imap accounts set in akonadi and I get tons of emails each day on
each mailbox, so I always suspect something is aloof when ... I don't get any
email for an extended period.

Each time this happens, I fire up akonadiconsole, and, lo and behold, while I
am evidently connected to outside world, some or all of my imap resources
Failed to connect to server (see attached screenshots). A simple akonadictl
restart solves the problem, and 10 seconds later, my imap resources are
syncing again.

This problem usually happens when I resume from suspend or when I reboot. This
might be related to the resources not being able to sync during the time it
takes for my laptop to connect to my wifi network.

So I have two comments, besides congratulating the PIM team for such a great
job:

1) If this is a network problem at startup, akonadi should realise after 2
hours that my laptop is connected...

2) There should be a way to set up notifications when a resource is not
syncing. I don't think my mom would have the idea firing up akonadiconsole
after not receiving any email in a few days :-( For instance, the kmail tray
icon could be crossed or something. That would be really helpful, as well as
providing a restart akonadi attached to it...

Besides that, everything works very well now, so thanks for the good work, dear
devs!

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
reboot or resume from suspend to disk

Actual Results:
imap resources silently not syncing

Expected Results:
imap resources should sync at set intervals
