I'm getting this error with updated KDE Neon.
Seems like it happens after waking up from suspend and/or changing network
(haven't tested this properly yet).
Restarting Kontact resolves this problem until next suspend+wakeup.
I'm connecting to the Internet by WiFi - connection itself works OK, only
Akregator (and KMail? Whole Kontact?) have issues.

[akregator] [Bug 394525] Adblock filters don't work

2021-04-03 Thread wincak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394525

After switching to different RSS reader a long time ago I just tried again on
current KDE Neon and adblock is still broken. Also some of the blocklists
offered in the combobox are not available anymore and it does not seem to be
possible to add new ones - only manually add rules or import blocklists from
local files.

This problem used to be rather frequent and annoying but hasn't been happening
for quite some time now even though I'm using KMail daily. Possibly the cause
has been already resolved.

Since there hasn't been any activity for over two years, I suggest closing this
bug.

(In reply to Laurent Montel from comment #1)

No, blocking still does not work for me in version 5.11.x (KDE Neon now). No
change.

But thanks for working on it, Akregator sure as hell needs some fixes.

The bug is back. Sending emails ends in "Failed to transport message. Network

[akregator] [Bug 394525] New: Adblock filters don't work

2018-05-21 Thread wincak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394525

Bug ID: 394525
   Summary: Adblock filters don't work
   Product: akregator
   Version: 5.8.1
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: internal browser
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: win...@seznam.cz
  Target Milestone: ---

Adblocking rules don't seem to be blocking anything.
Ads are still shown. Adding blocklists or manually adding block rules don't
hide anything.

Reproducibility: Always

How to reproduce
1) Add a feed to Akregator (for example
http://feeds.arstechnica.com/arstechnica/index/)
2) Click on random article and open it in a new tab
3) Ads are visible
4) Enable Adblock plugin in Webengine plugins configuration and check "Hide
filtered elements"
5) Add blocklists (for example EasyList)
6) Restart Akregator
7) Ads are still visible
8) Add manual filter using address of one of the ads (for example
https://track.adform.net/*)
9) Restart Akregator
10) Ads are still visible

This happens with other sites as well.

I can't reproduce the editing issue. Clicking on "Edit" activates editing
inline in the list - works as expected.
The multi-selection is still activated and rather strange, though.

[kmail2] [Bug 392653] Failed to send email. Network unreachable

2018-05-02 Thread wincak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392653

--- Comment #1 from wincak <win...@seznam.cz> ---
After I reported this issue it fixed itself eventually and sending email
started working again without my direct intervention.
For some time I was unable to reproduce the issue until it reappeared after
recent software upgrade and disappeared again soon.
I believe the upgrade process somehow breaks communication between KMail and
Akonadi components and reboot fixes it.

[kmail2] [Bug 392653] New: Failed to send email. Network unreachable

2018-04-02 Thread wincak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392653

Bug ID: 392653
Summary: Failed to send email. Network unreachable
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: win...@seznam.cz
  Target Milestone: ---

Sending emails using SMTP stopped working by itself. Messages get stuck in
outbox and automated repeated attempts to send them end with message:

Failed to transport message. Network unreachable

I'm using unenctypted connection to smtp.seznam.cz port 25, PLAIN
authentication. This configuration used to work until recently and is still
listed in server's help as a viable configuration.

Receiving emails works OK just like in:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330849

Since kmail doesn't seem to provide any additional debug logs I tried to use
Akonadi console but couldn't figure out how to get anything useful out of it
either.

[kontact] [Bug 168256] When opening Kontact, Kmail opens in a seperate, undocked, window

--- Comment #17 from wincak <win...@seznam.cz> ---
This bug is still not fixed properly. It used to appear a few months ago, then
stopped and now it's back. Since I was fiddling with the configuration
recently, it's probably caused by that. I definitely don't remember configuring
kmail to open in separate window, though.
Since quitting KMail from tray (comment 11) resolves this for the current
session, is it possible that something (Akonadi?) launches KMail to display a
notification (new mail) instead of launching Kontact as a whole? That even
sounds reasonable.
Second idea: is the behaviour described in comment 9 correct? I believe in this
situation KMail should get embedded in Kontact even if it was already running
standalone before.

[kontact] [Bug 343558] Unread mail not showing in summary monitored folders

2017-11-30 Thread wincak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343558

wincak <win...@seznam.cz> changed:

   What|Removed |Added

--- Comment #7 from wincak <win...@seznam.cz> ---
I might have stumbled upon this issue as well:

KMail window in Kontact was showing unread mail - unread emails in the list
were highlighted, the folder tree was showing unread emails in inbox (count of
messages in parentheses), Inbox->Folder properties->General had "Act on
new/unread mail in this folder" checked, I even got a new email notification in
the corner of the screen, but Kontact summary stubbornly said "No unread
messages in your monitored folders"

The problem was that in Settings->Configure Kontact->Summary->New messages the
Inbox folder was not checked.

Now I see that it is logical, but for and unsuspecting user (eg. me twenty
minutes ago) it might be hard to understand that it is necessary to check
several checkboxes to really be notified on new email in all the Kontact tabs.

Would it be possible to warn the user in Summary window that no folders are
being monitored and possibly place a button there that opens the appropriate
settings window?
