It's an upgrade from what ?
build from hand ?
If it's package ask to your distro.
4.4.10 is very very old and stable so if a upgrade broke it it's a problem from
distro no us

dialog for managing accounts is unusable. Unable to even attempt to rebuild
kmail because I cannot add a 'Local Folders' resource, in fact I am unable to
add accounts at all.
