[kmail2] [Bug 314585] New: Crash while emptying Trash folder (IMAP)

2013-02-07 Thread Thomas Neumann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314585

Bug ID: 314585
Summary: Crash while emptying Trash folder (IMAP)
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: blacky+...@fluffbunny.de

Application: kmail (1.13.7)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.4 (4.8.4)
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 x86_64
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 (wheezy)

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I tried to empty the trash folder. This folder is part of a 'Disconnected IMAP'
account provided by GMail. KMail crashed instantly. (Happened the first time,
reporting it nonetheless.)

OS: Debian Sid, 64 bit, KDE installed from distribution package

kwalletmanager 4:4.8.4-3
akonadi-backend-mysql 1.7.2-2

libakonadi-kmime4 4:4.8.4-2

(Just in case this is even remotely relevant: I'm running kdm, but not the KDE
window manager. I prefer Enlightenment 17. KMail as running standalone, not via
Kontact)

The crash does not seem to be reproducible.

[kmail] [Bug 201080] The composer window does not appear when running KMail from an NX xterm session

2013-02-07 Thread Tristan Miller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201080

--- Comment #5 from Tristan Miller psychon...@nothingisreal.com ---
I can confirm the problem still occurs with a client running KDE 4.9.5. I can
also confirm that this problem happens with at least the following NX
client/server packages:

* NoMachine NX
* x2go

There are a couple others (NeatX and FreeNX) which I haven't tested yet.

The same happens with iCalenar files: If I move an event using the Mozilla
calendar application (Icedove+iceowl on Debian), the original recurring event
and the exception event share the same UID. Which of them shows in Akonadi is
random (latest wins?)

Looks like the _unique_-ID is not unique:

[kmail2] [Bug 314587] New: kde-base/kmail-4.10.0: broken IMAP resource, couldn't connect to server with no logs

2013-02-07 Thread Jakub Caban
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314587

Bug ID: 314587
Summary: kde-base/kmail-4.10.0: broken IMAP resource, couldn't
connect to server with no logs
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@whyblack.pl

Original bug here:

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455886

I'm reporting also here as I see more chances in getting help with diagnosing
it and hopefully fixed. Original bug message:

In versions up to 4.10.0 (I mean = 4.9.98 which I've tested) I had no problems
with my IMAP account. Upon upgrade to 4.10.0 my company e-mail account got
completely broken.

Upon starting KMail I got information Resource WhyBlack is broken. This
resource is now offline.

Trying to reconfigure resource hangs on auto-detecting connection settings and
Server info window is blank. In Akonadi configure I got information:

Could not connect to the IMAP server. Could not test the capabilities
supported by the IMAP server. Connection to server lost.

Going through http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/PIM/Akonadi/Debug_IMAP I got two
empty log files named imap.log.27343.1 and imap.log.27343.2

On the server side I have gentoo server with dovecot-2.1.13. In the
/var/log/dovecot I got lines:

Feb 6 18:46:28 fb dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=kuba, method=PLAIN,
rip=81.190.221.138, lip=37.59.1.137, mpid=19190, TLS: Disconnected,

Feb 6 18:46:28 fb dovecot: imap(kuba): Connection closed in=0 out=325

Feb 6 18:54:05 fb dovecot: imap(kuba): Connection closed in=0 out=325
Feb 6 18:54:36 fb dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=kuba, method=PLAIN,

session=n0TzBBLVFgBRvt2K
Feb 6 18:54:36 fb dovecot: imap(kuba): Connection closed in=0 out=325

I can gladly provide any more details needed.

PS: Also creating new IMAP resource with the same server (which URL is
fb.whyblack.pl for mail purposes) fails on any attemp to communicate with the
server.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade KDE to 4.10.0
2. Run KMail
3.
Actual Results:
IMAP resource broken

Expected Results:
Working e-mail account

[Akonadi] [Bug 264383] akonadiserver uses ~/.my.cnf dangerously

2013-02-07 Thread Simon Williams
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264383

--- Comment #17 from Simon Williams si...@systemparadox.co.uk ---
The patch in comment #11 appears to solve the problem for mysqlcheck. Without
the patch akonadi issues many CHECK TABLE statements against the wrong MySQL
server when it starts up. With the patch this is no longer the case.

However, this does not solve the problem completely. When the akonadi server is
stopped it still issues a shutdown to the wrong MySQL server via mysqladmin.

After upgrading to 4.10, KMail cannot connect to my IMAP account on a dovecot
server.

It always fails with the LOGIN FAILED, AUTHENTICATION METHOD NOT SUPPORTED.

These accounts were configured using kmail 4.9, and used to work fine.

Every time the resource starts, I get the following message in the akonadi
console logs:

A message was received from the server with no job to handle it: A02 OK
Pre-login capabilities listed, post-login capabilities have more.

On the other hand, my gmail imap account seems to work fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an imap resource against a Dovecot imap server, using any
authentication method (except plain, maybe, because plain is not supported on
my server)
2. Try to connect

Actual Results:
Login failed, authentication mode whatever authentication mode you configured
at step 1 is not supported by the server.

Expected Results:
Imap resource connected

Git commit b45e783ebe548280f78c0a659a6f8c6f7e09e3ea by Christophe Giboudeaux.
Committed on 07/02/2013 at 16:59.
Pushed by cgiboudeaux into branch '1.9'.

Ignore the custom settings in ~/.my.cnf
Looks like passing the socket path in our arguments is not enough for MySQL. It
still tries to run the commands on any database defined in ~/.my.cnf.

We're now adding the --defaults-file argument to mysqladmin and mysqlcheck to
only run these commands on the Akonadi DB.
FIXED-IN: 1.9.1

I can confirm that my existing and working akonadi SQLITE3 setup completely
broke on upgrade to KDE 4.10.0 (Kubuntu backports packages). Configuring MYSQL
solved the problem after I had reconfigured all my Imap and calendar/contacts

This may be related to #312687
My Akonadi/Sqlite configuration stopped working after updating KDE to 4.10.0
using Kubuntu backports repository. After switching to Mysql and reconfiguring
all resources everything worked fine again. I'd prefer to go back to sqlite.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314631

Bug ID: 314631
Summary: kmail2 cannot use any of my mailaccounts (neither pops
nor imaps)
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.0
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: s...@kabelmail.de

After upgrade to kmail2 4.10.0 I cannot fetch any mail. neither from my
imaps(STARTTLS) nor POPS(STARTTLS) accounts. Kmail2 either sets the resource
offline(imaps) stating that the server doesn't respond or says the password
used is incorrect (pops accounts). Worked flawlessly before 4.10.0.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure imap with STARTTLS resource
2. open kmail
3. try to read mail

[kmail2] [Bug 276856] message goes back to unread after new mail check

2013-02-07 Thread Rodney Baker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=276856

--- Comment #11 from Rodney Baker rodney.ba...@iinet.net.au ---
After watching the log file for quite some time (using tail -f) for the
relevant akonadi process, the IMAP STORE command (with \SEEN flag) is not being
sent to the server the first time a mail is fetched. It is only sent on the
second fetch. When sent, the STORE command is being actioned and the response
OK Store completed is returned. No errors from the server that I can see.

An example transaction:

C: A000548 UID FETCH 25270 (BODY.PEEK[] UID)
S: * 65 FETCH ( UID 25270 BODY[] Return-Path:
opensuse+bounces-143179-rodney.baker=iinet.net...@opensuse.org
[...message body removed...]
S: A000548 OK Fetch completed.

The next time the folder is refreshed, note the lack of SEEN flag on UID 25270:

S: * 64 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25269 )
S: * 65 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25270 )
S: * 66 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25271 )
S: * 67 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25272 )
S: * 68 FETCH ( FLAGS (\Seen) UID 25273 )
S: * 69 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25274 )
S: * 70 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25275 )

The next time the message is selected (after another folder refresh):

S: * 63 FETCH ( FLAGS (\Seen) UID 25268 )
S: * 64 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25269 )
S: * 65 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25270 )
S: * 66 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25271 )
S: * 67 FETCH ( FLAGS (\Seen) UID 25272 )
S: * 68 FETCH ( FLAGS (\Seen) UID 25273 )
S: * 69 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25274 )
S: * 70 FETCH ( FLAGS () UID 25275 )
S: A000565 OK Fetch completed.
C: A000566 UID STORE 25270 FLAGS (\Seen)
S: * 65 FETCH ( UID 25270 FLAGS (\Seen) )
S: A000566 OK Store completed.

This pattern is consistently repeatable. I have the full log as a tgz archive -
I'm happy to email it to someone but I'd rather not attach it here.

Rodney.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314598

--- Comment #1 from Ronan Dunklau ro...@dunklau.fr ---
In fact, as other have pointed out, the issue seems to lie with an openssl
upgrade.
I was using openssl-1.0.1c with kmail 4.9, and simultaneously upgraded to
kmail4.10 and openssl-1.0.1d.

Reverting back to kmail 4.9 does not solve my issue, but reverting to
openssl-1.0.1d does.

I don't know your plans with regards to openssl compatibility, so I'll leave
that open for now.
