2017-05-19 Thread Gerd Fleischer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379996

Bug ID: 379996
Summary: IMAP resource chrashing when trying to configure

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

The imap resource crashes for me if I try to call the configure dialog.

xsession-errors says

2017-05-19 Thread Gerd Fleischer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379997

Bug ID: 379997
Summary: Always "Akonadi not started" overlay on reboot
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.4.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: gerdfleisc...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I run kmail in the system tray. I shut down without closing kmail, then on
reboot I always get the overlay "Akonadi server not running" despite it is.

Does not happen if closed explicitly.

Happens on 2 systems with clean install.

Sorry, I'm lost here.

Sandro, did you mean to confirm it for a KF5 based version? If so, which one?
Can you update the Version field of this bug?

Otherwise: earlier this year, there was consensus on the mailing list that all
4.x PIM bugs should be closed. Do you still think that this bug should be kept
alive? If you don't, please feel free to close it.

I don't understand the whole invitation system, so I won't try to reproduce it
myself. Didn't even know there was something like counter proposals.

Anyway, you set the version of this bug to master (so I assume it was a
Frameworks-based version). Have you ever experienced this with a released
version of KMail? If so, what is the most recent version you experienced this
with? Is counter proposal handling still broken?

Is there some easy way to reproduce it?

Scanning all the comments, it seems to work now, or at least to be no longer a
KMail bug, but a distribution problem. If you think I'm wrong because a very
recent version of KMail (version 16.12.0 or later?) still fails to autocomplete

This can still be reproduced in KMail 5.5.1, although it is not as severe as it
used to be: The Welcome screen can simply be invoked manually (Help ->
Introduction to KMail). Now, if you click on the folder you were in before you
opened the Welcome screen (the one that should still be highlighted in the
folder list), the Welcome screen stays put. Clicking on another folder makes it
go away, though.

I'm pretty sure that this is a duplicate of another bug, but I cannot remember
the details right now.

Afaict, in PIM 5.5.1, retrieving messages via DBUS is still not implemented.
Maybe I was just unable to find it. I searched the interfaces of kmail,
Akonadi's NewMailNotifierAgent, and some Akonadi IMAP resources. It also seems
that KFolderIFace didn't make the transition from DCOP to DBUS, and getting the
number of (unread) messages in a folder is now impossible, too.

[kmail2] [Bug 283020] Store Kmail Tags in IMAP flags, like Thunderbird

2017-05-19 Thread Denis Kurz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283020

Denis Kurz changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||kde...@posteo.de
Version|Git (master)|5.5.1

Implementing this would have a nice side effect or two. Akonadi was meant to be
an offline cache for stuff like e-mail. Akonadi tags, however, add completely
new functionality. If tags are stored as IMAP tags, however, Akonadi's task
would then be reduced to caching again. Also, if Akonadi's db is corrupted for
whatever reasons, or I decide to switch db backends, or some faulty IMAP server
suddenly presents old mail with new IDs, or whatever, Akonadi would not lose
all the old tags. It would only have to re-index them. This approach seems a
lot less error-prone to me when compared to the current tag system.

To all reporters: Please remember that you can always make it easier for a
developer to work on a bug/request by providing references to relevant
standards, making detailed suggestions etc. Noone wants to work on a six year
old request if she has to put a week of research into it first. In this case:
Are IMAP flags even supposed to be used like this? If so, can you link to the
related RFC or some other source?

But there are also "user-defined" flags "\*" (which is our topic), which are

Well this issue is still valid for hidden recipients on KF5 based kdepim :(
I've updated the accected version to a 5 based version.

The problem is intrinsic inside the hidden recipient feature - because with
this feature gpg can't detect the correct key and have to test all keys.

But maybe Andre can give us tips how we can use the API from gpg in a smarter
way, so we can improve the situation for most cases. Maybe we should ask the
user what keys should be tried. At least in my case I have often a good guess
what key is the correct one...

setting fgcolor without also setting bgcolor. It's a bad habit, happens a lot.

[kmail2] [Bug 369157] Kmail2 doesn't work with Icons-Only task manager

2017-05-19 Thread Fred Wells
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369157

I believe I have the latest version, kmail-16.12.3-1.fc25.x86_64.

This only happens if I first launch KMail, then click 'PIN' in IOTM. If I
instead drag the non-running KMail icon from the desktop or launcher to IOTM,
it works fine.

I don't see the behavior with Kontact.

Presently, upon selecting KMail when prompted, I see only the Composer, which
appears to behave normally - not completely empty in that it contains only the
From: address as expected.

[Akonadi] [Bug 380012] New: CalDAV Sync not Working with Communigate

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380012

Bug ID: 380012
Summary: CalDAV Sync not Working with Communigate
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.5.1
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: naworsk...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 105640
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=105640&action=edit
akonadi-konsole debbuging-output

I cannot Sync my CalDAV ressources from a "Communigate-Pro" (CGP) Server
(unkown Version) on my Work.

Environment:
- multiple Devices with KDE-Neon and Arch.

More detailed description/What I've tried:
1. Kontact/Korganizer/Akonadi recognizes the calendar/task-folders, but I can't
see any events/tasks.
2. I can create events/tasks in KOrganizer which are (and stay) visible and
actually "really" created on the Server. I checked it with the CGP Web-Client
("Pronto"?), "Thunderbird Lightning" and/or "DavDroid".
3. So the only events/tasks that are visible in KOrganizer are the ones created
in the current running Installation.
4. Changes on this events/tasks with other Installations/Clients are not
synced. If I modify a created and visible event/task in Korganizer it will
overwrite changes that are made with other Clients.
5. I can also "delete" the visible events in Korganizer, but they're not really
deleted from the Server. (checked like in 2.)

Side-Notes:
- Issues 1-4 are new, it worked before the last updates. Issue 5 was older but
it did not annoy me that much.
- Owncloud (9.1.0) resources are working as expected with KOrganizer/Akonadi.
- Thunderbird Lightning and DAVDroid are working the affected resources (CGP).
- Same Behaviour with Arch-Linux (also same Akonadi Version)
- Attachment: (Anonymized) Debbuging Output from Akonadi-Konsole while
refreshing/syncing the affected resource in KOrganizer.
- In general i'd like to thank you for this great piece of software. I really
love to use it. Unfortunately this Bug is a really big issue for me :(

Hi Michael,

the upstream BZ says: "Pushed by arojas into branch 'Applications/17.04'"

This essentially means that if Neon maintainers do not care about backporthing
this bugfix to 17.04.1 (should be trivial), we will get the fixed package when
17.04.2 is released. According to

https://community.kde.org/Schedules/Applications/17.04_Release_Schedule

this is expected on Thursday, June 8, 2017

The most recent version is 17.04.1 (should actually be 5.5.1), but I guess
16.12.3 (actually 5.4.3) is recent enough.

Thank you for the quick respond and the new information.

However, very shortly after that I received a flurry of updates via the updater

Denis,
the bug continues...now on different machines; desktop kubuntu 16.04
kontact 5.2.3
laptop kubuntu 17.04 kontact 5.1.3
no prediction despite configuring for google address book search in both
(correctly configured in both, and even unchecking "use recent email
addresses). The laptop will predict from recent addresses if i check the
box, but neither will predict from my google contacts address book.
Thanks for asking. This is really frustrating...makes using Kontact a
royal pain.

specifically for KDE PIM (finally bumping it to a recent release, they probably
had issues with QtWebEngine), so it would appear that up-to-date versions are
