[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1788049] Re: Kernel 4.15.0 updates disabling touchscreen in tablet mode on X1 Yoga
Feel a bit silly, I just realised that a year ago I had created an event script to disable the touchpad in tablet mode due to thinkpad acpi driver bug. However I used the event number instead of a unique symlink and with kernel updates the event number remapped to the touchscreen and thus disabled it in tablet mode. All fixed now, sorry for noise! ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788049 Title: Kernel 4.15.0 updates disabling touchscreen in tablet mode on X1 Yoga Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: After a linux kernel update to 4.15.0-32 the touchscreen on my X1 Yoga is disabled when rotated into tablet mode. Also it is not just suspend that affects the LED, disabling wifi from network menu or using the hardware wifi switch on the laptop results it the same problem that the LED is permanently off after turning wifi back on. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1037718] Re: Intel wifi led is off after resuming from suspend
I have narrowed the problem further to commits in 2.6.39, likely somewhere in the splitting of iwl3945 drivers into iwlegacy directory[1] I am struggling to get any further narrowing it down as either I am facing kernel build issues or wireless is not working on the builds that are in the middle of iwlegacy commits. I will report this upstream and update with url. [1] https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux- stable.git/log/drivers/net/wireless/iwlegacy?h=linux-2.6.39.y ** Description changed: I have set the wifi options iwlegacy led_mode=1 in /etc/modprobe.d/wlan.conf to stop the led blinking, which works as expected. The problem I have found is that if I suspend the laptop then upon resuming the wifi led is permanently off yet the wifi still works properly. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1037718] Re: Intel wifi led is off after resuming from suspend
I narrowed this down to working in kernel 2.6.38 (Natty) but stopped working in 3.0 onwards. Also it is not just suspend that affects the LED, using the hardware wifi switch on the laptop results it the same problem that the LED is permanently off after turning wifi back on. The only way to get the LED back on without rebooting is to reload the module: `rmmod iwl3945 modprobe iwl3945` Thus a workaround for the suspend issue is to add SUSPEND_MODULES=iwl3945 to /etc/pm/config.d/modules -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037718 Title: Intel wifi led is off after resuming from suspend Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I have set the wifi options iwlegacy led_mode=1 in /etc/modprobe.d/wlan.conf to stop the led blinking, which works as expected. The problem I have found is that if I suspend the laptop then upon resuming the wifi led is permanently off yet the wifi still works properly. I noticed the same occuring in Precise but I think it was working in Oneiric. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1068436] Re: Bluetooth led isn't being turned off when bluetooth is disabled
Can confirm seeing the same issue with 13.10 and Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth adaptor. Likely this is a kernel issue and will need reporting upstream. #182101 is now marked invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068436 Title: Bluetooth led isn't being turned off when bluetooth is disabled Status in “bluez” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hardware: Dell Inspiron 6400 Problem: I disable bluetooth in bluetooth applet. Bluetooth icon becomes 'grey' but bluetooth led on the laptop is still on. Expected: bluetooth led to go off when bluetooth is disabled. This used to work fine in 11.04 and problem exists in 12.10.\\Please let me know if I can provide any more information. Thanks!
