I was able to get my failed Virtualbox-4.3.20 to complete its install by
downloading and manually installing dkms from Vivid. Your results may
vary.

Title:
Support for console rotation with fbcon in linux-image is erroneously
  disabled

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: linux-image

  Hi!
I would like to suggest the inclusion of console rotation with fbcon in the
linux-image-2.6.24 package.
The kernel option is CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE_ROTATION. It has _no_ effect
on the system unless it is explicity turned on as a boot option or with echo 1
  /sys/class/graphics/fbcon/rotate_all.

  Pros:
  * console rotation support with fbcon

  Cons:
  * none

  Thank you!
  Alex.

Bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7. Problem exists under

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1225460] [NEW] Radeon HD5800 desktop suspend/resume failure

2013-09-14 Thread Dylan Justice
Public bug reported:

Consistent resume failure and hard crash on Asus P8Z77-V with HD5850.
In about 8 attempts, once observed display corruption on resume rather
than black screen, and one successful resume. Previously experienced
similar problems in Lucid with fglrx and radeon. Have not yet tried
fglrx in Saucy.

Blaming radeon driver due to identical experience on Lucid with same
video card on different motherboard (Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H).
