[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1416601] Re: touchpad does not respond to tap-to-clicks in I2C mode in Ubuntu 15.04 on 2015 XPS 13 (9343)
Just wanted to confirm that the trackpad in my XPS13 9343 is working perfectly with the daily mainline kernel today: Linux boris 4.0.0-999-lowlatency #201503060211 SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 6 02:15:32 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1416601 Title: touchpad does not respond to tap-to-clicks in I2C mode in Ubuntu 15.04 on 2015 XPS 13 (9343) Status in Dell Sputnik: Confirmed Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package in Fedora: Unknown Bug description: Tap-to-click does not work unless I tap several times really fast (which is really hard to do), which also causes the cursor to move. This is a poor user experience. Relatedly, sometimes when using two-finger scrolling, the touchpad will get stuck such that I can let go and the cursor won't move. I can continue using two fingers to try scrolling, which works, but I can't get the cursor to move. If I tap the cursor several times really fast, I can eventually get the cursor unstuck so it moves again. I suspect that this is related to the tap-to-click issue. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1315309] Re: kernel panic when intel wireless card associates
The intel wireless aspect of this kernel panic might be a red herring - the machines panics most times it's booted, with or without the iwlwifi drivers blacklisted. The panic usually occurs a few seconds after the lightdm login screen appears (Which happents to be about the same time the wireless associates, usually). After a series of hard powerdown and restarts the machine boots without panicking, but this seems to be enssentially a random thing, it panics more often than not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1315309 Title: kernel panic when intel wireless card associates Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Since this morning, following an update, my machine kernel panics as soon as NetworkManager connects the wifi, or if I press the key to power off the wifi card. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1315309] Re: kernel panic when intel wireless card associates
Christopher, Sorry, I can't help you out with the bisect right now as I need my laptop for a sprint (I'm leaving in a couple of hours). I've just done a fresh install of Trusty and brought it up to date - the bug nolonger manifests itself. I had previously tested with kernels that had previously been known to work and the problem persisted, but a clean Trusty install is working perfectly with 3.13.0-24-generic, so I suspect that one of the recent changes I made on my machine would have introduced this problem. When I get back from the sprint I will re- apply some of my recent setup changes and see if I can reproduce the error. I'm having to think back two years now, but I believe I had to install from Ubuntu Server and install FGLRX to get it working on oneiric and alpha versions of precise. I know for sure that the desktop install CD would hang prior to precise. Would you like me to try install oneiric server on it again to see exactly what happens? 3. Yes, suspend/resume with FGLRX does work perfectly on both this AMD A8-3500M and on my wife's AMD A10-5750M based machine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034002 Title: 1002:9641 1002:9641 [Lenovo ThinkPad E525] Screen black on resume Status in Direct Rendering Infrastructure: Confirmed Status in The Linux Kernel: Fix Released Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I did the kernel smoke test for the quantal kernel on precise. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1034002] Re: Lenovo E525 screen black on resume
So, updating my BIOS, sadly, did not fix the problem. The result was exactly the same. I suspend the laptop, then resume it. The machine resumes from suspend in every respect except that it doesn't turn the backlight on the screen back on. With the new BIOS, the output of `sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date` is: 8IET41WW(1.14) 02/26/2013 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034002 Title: Lenovo E525 screen black on resume Status in Direct Rendering Infrastructure: Confirmed Status in The Linux Kernel: Fix Released Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I did the kernel smoke test for the quantal kernel on precise. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1198324] Re: softlockup during boot on AMD A83500m
Julian Running 3.11.0-3-generic I am seeing no reoccurence of the issue! Good stuff. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1198324 Title: softlockup during boot on AMD A83500m Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: The current Saucy kernel (config-3.10.0-2-generic) causes my machine to lock during bootup. The last known working kernel I have is 3.8.0-26-generic. Switching to a text mode boot I discovered that CPU #1, #2 and #3 report that they are softlocked by the migration process (I believe that's internal to the kernel) and that on CPU #0 the RCU stall detector has detected a stall. The machine in question is a Thinkpad E525 with an AMD A8-3500m APU. I've tried and failed to extract more information from the kernel, but setting softlock_panic just ends up with a continuous repeating stream of text scrolling up the screen faster than can be read. As I can't boot into that kernel I can't give you the output suggested on the bug submission form, but I've attached the lspci output from the 3.8 kernel version in case that is helpful.
