Description-en: VAAPI driver for the Intel GEN8+ Graphics family
 The VA-API (Video Acceleration API) enables hardware accelerated video
 decode/encode at various entry-points (VLD, IDCT, Motion Compensation
 etc.) for the prevailing coding standards today (MPEG-2, MPEG-4
 ASP/H.263, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, and VC-1/WMV3). It provides an interface
 to fully expose the video decode capabilities in today's GPUs.
 .
 This package contains the video decode and encode driver backend for the
 Intel HD Graphics of the Intel Core processor family. The supported platforms
 include:
  * Broadwell
  * Skylake
  * Broxton
  * Apollo Lake
  * Kaby Lake
  * Coffee Lake
  * Whiskey Lake
  * Cannon Lake

Sigh. It somehow incorrectly selected initramfs-tools. That's totally
unrelated. No idea on how to remove it.

2021-06-23 Thread gijs van der velden
Really? I open a bug report over two years ago, which only recently gets
tractions and now it's being closed because the kernel used is no longer
supported?! I get that Ubuntu is opensource software, but still is still
disappointing.

Anyhow, I've created a new bug report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-azure-5.8/+bug/1933388
Hopefully this new bug report does get traction.

Title:
  SR-IOV broken in Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS

Status in linux-signed-azure-5.8 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  SR-IOV does not work since Ubuntu Server 18.04.2 LTS, once the HWE
  kernel (4.18.0-15 generic x86_64)) has been installed on that version.
  Please also see ticket: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
  /linux-hwe/+bug/1818400

  This bug report was created for Ubuntu 20.04.02 LTS, since the kernel
  for the previous bug report is no longer being supported and a
  developer requested us to make a new bug report for the new Ubuntu
  version...

  Environment:
  Windows Server 2019
  Fresh Hyper-V generation 2 VM (configuration version 9.0)
  SR-IOV enabled on the virtual switch (Intel I350-T2 physical network adapter)
  SR-IOV enabled on the virtual network card of the VM

  Steps to reproduce:
  Install Ubuntu Server 20.04.2 LTS
  Verify SR-IOV is enabled in the Networking tab of the Hyper-V manager

  Check SR-IOV status in the Networking tab of the Hyper-V manager. It
  will show status degraded (SR-IOV not operational)

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1848496] Re: [zfs-root] "device-mapper: reload ioctl on osprober-linux-sdaX failed: Device or resource busy" against devices owned by ZFS

2020-05-31 Thread Gijs Vermariƫn
@fermulator at the moment this is bug breaks dualboot anyway, since it
will not probe my Windows os before failing and stopping. So I have to
resort to using f12 to select the disk. I suppose it will be worse for
people with dual boot on one drive, but they will not be able to install
ZoL as easily via the installer.

Unfortunately I encountered the same problem. Tried to run it for two
hours but after that it remained stuck, so I ctrl+C-ed and then the same
error messages showed.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1376581] Re: DisplayPort monitor not properly detected via HP ultraslim docking station 2013

2016-03-25 Thread Gijs
Seems to be fixed in the 16.04 (Xenial Xerus) Beta 1. I assume the fix
will make its way through the final release.

Hooray! :)
