[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1324085] Re: 14.04 64-bit desktop installation kernel core dump
This bug is fixed in Utopic Unicorn, but how about Trusty Tahr? I disagree with closing this critical bug because: 1. So many Dell XPS L502X owners out there are not able to install 14.04 (directly) due to this bug 2. It may also affect other similar models 3. If I mess up with my system in the future, I can only boot back with 13.10 or 14.10 release image, but not 14.04 In summary, I find it mind-boggling to leave such a critical installation bug in a LTS release. Instead of seeking to reverse commit biset the kernel, why not just package a new 14.04 release image (with the proper kernel)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324085 Title: 14.04 64-bit desktop installation kernel core dump Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: 14.04 64-bit desktop installation kernel core dumps immediately upon install starts on Dell XPS L502X laptop. screenshot -- http://i.imgur.com/UqYVIOA.jpg (in case the attachment fails) This is an 14.04 installation packaging issue because I'm running 14.04 now on this laptop upgraded from 13.10 Please let me know what other information you'll need.
