[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1942133] Re: Nvidia driver packages prevent suspend due to leftover Systemd units

I whink that, when attempting to suspend, the error is logged as this (edited): ModemManager[3287]: [sleep-monitor] inhibit failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying upowerd[5771]: Could not acquire inhibitor lock: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying dbus-daemon[2888]: [system] Activating via systemd: service name='org.freedesktop.login1' unit='dbus-org.freedesktop.login1.service' requested by ':1.53' (uid=1000 pid=8227 comm="/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/indicator-session/indica" label="unconfined") systemd[1]: systemd-logind.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE systemd[1]: systemd-logind.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'. systemd[1]: systemd-logind.service: Scheduled restart job, restart counter is at 7. systemd[1]: Stopped Login Service. systemd[1]: Condition check resulted in Load Kernel Module drm being skipped. systemd[1]: Starting Login Service... I've deleted the problematic symlinks while trying to solving the problem, however, they should be these: /etc/systemd/system/systemd-suspend-service.requires/nvidia-suspend.service /etc/systemd/system/systemd-suspend-service.requires/nvidia-resume.service /etc/systemd/system/systemd-hibernate-service.requires/nvidia-suspend.service /etc/systemd/system/systemd-hibernate-service.requires/nvidia-resume.service I've briefly checked before removing them; at least a couple of them were masked, but they were still causing the problem. I don't see any reason why they should hang around the systemd configuration once the packages are purged. Additionally, this is a problem that is not easy to diagnose. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1890913] Re: init is using 100% of processor
I am experiencing this same problem and I can confirm that when I mask the apport-autoreport.service the problem stops. I am on Ubuntu 20.10 with Kernel 5.8.0-18-generic. I also have Ubuntu 20.04 with Kernel 5.8.0-05-generic and can confirm the problem does not happen there John -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1890913 Title: init is using 100% of processor Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: the `sbin/init splash` process is using more than 100% of processor after boot. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1327741] Re: Kernel panic on driver rtl8821ae
This bug also affected me but seems to be fixed in 14.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1327741 Title: Kernel panic on driver rtl8821ae Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Since kernel version 3.13.0-27, my Asus VM40B goes into kernel panic during boot, seemingly due to an error with the WiFi driver, rtl8821ae. The attached screenshot of the screen (I have no idea how to otherwise capture the output of a kernel panic) shows the error with kernel version 3.13.0-29, but it happens exactly the same with -27. WORKAROUND: Disabling the WiFi card or using version 3.13.0-24 does not cause any problem. Please bear in mind, while reading the generated report, that I have disabled the WiFi card to be able to boot with kernel -29.
