The MAC address changing pattern is interesting, there is a common address they will change into - 00:13:74:00:00:00 This looks like a HW issue, but I'm not very confident about it. Maybe not a big deal, but this issue would prevent these system from being selected into our SRU pool, the worse scenario is that this system is attached to a MAC-address-registered network (my dormitory network back into university require users to register they MAC address) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: linux-image-3.13.0-32-generic 3.13.0-32.57~precise1 [modified: boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-32-generic] ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-32.57~precise1-generic 3.13.11.4 Uname: Linux 3.13.0-32-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu17.6 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Aug 19 06:00:11 2014 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20140807.1) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: linux-lts-trusty UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1358704/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1342548] Re: [Dell Inspiron 5437] Wireless key does not work on this system
One similar patch has been submitted to the mainline kernel: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-acpi/msg50338.html It also fixes the wireless hotkey issue. I think we could submit the Lin's patch to mainline. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1342548 Title: [Dell Inspiron 5437] Wireless key does not work on this system Status in HWE Next Project: New Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: CID: 201305-13673 Dell Inspiron 5437 The wireless hotkey does not work on this system Steps: 1. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1313830] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad X230] LCD Backlight dims completely when disconnecting external monitor
It's too hard to reproduce this bug because I have not the same hardware. I have tested it on three types of laptop, but can't reproduce this bug. They are: 1. T540P with Displayport monitor 2. T440s with Displayport monitor 3. x230S with Displayport monitor. We have no external dock to touch DVI monitor. All the laptop are installed with ubuntu 14.04 and the kernel is 3.13.0-24-generic. I note that Yaiza Bailen has the bug on T420 and T420s with Displayport monitor, which may be similar with my #2 laptop, but it can't be reproduced. It seems that I need to get the same hardware to reproduce the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313830 Title: [Lenovo ThinkPad X230] LCD Backlight dims completely when disconnecting external monitor Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “linux” source package in Trusty: Confirmed Bug description: After undocking with external DVI monitor connected to dock the laptop's internal LCD dims all the way (backlight still on, but as dim as it goes).
