[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1973098] Re: [i915] Intermittent freezing and LSPCON init failed kernel messages
I have the same problem on Slackware64 15.0 with 6.7.2 Also see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/issues/4458#note_2273700 ** Bug watch added: gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/issues #4458 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/issues/4458 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-signed-oem-5.14 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973098 Title: [i915] Intermittent freezing and LSPCON init failed kernel messages Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux-signed-oem-5.14 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad model 20ST0055AU Boot messages show: [6.397804] [drm:lspcon_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to probe lspcon [6.397901] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20201103 for :00:02.0 on minor 0 During normal operation there will intermittently be a freeze for a second or two and then more of these messages display in the kernel logs: [ 505.487006] [drm:lspcon_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to probe lspcon [ 505.487072] [drm:lspcon_resume [i915]] *ERROR* LSPCON init failed on port D [ 506.747930] [drm:lspcon_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to probe lspcon [ 506.748018] [drm:lspcon_resume [i915]] *ERROR* LSPCON init failed on port D The system will then become operational again. The system is still usable, but it is annoying. I've switched onto this OEM kernel from the generic kernel (5.13), as I had other problems with 5.13 regarding external displays not coming back after idle timeouts. The bug is still there. Windows 10 x86_64, Hyper-V, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS mini.iso installer. How to reproduce: 1)Enable Generation 2 VM 2)Enable Secure Boot 3)Boot from dvd 4)In the GRUB menu, select "Expert Install" (the keyboard works). 5)In the next menu, the keyboard doesn't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1285434 Title: hyper-v: Keyboard dysfunctional while booting 14.04 Generation 2 virtual machines on Hyper-V Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Hi folks, While booting in to Generation 2 virtual machine mode, I noticed that the keyboard stops functioning. It appears that the keyboard is operational during the Grub 2 menu (see attached picture) but when we get to the screen to select a language, the keyboard stops responding. Is it feasible for you to check if the Hyper-V keyboard driver has been included from here: http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/next/linux- next.git/tree/drivers/input/serio/hyperv-keyboard.c?id=HEAD Please let me know.
