[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1873677] Re: Lenovo Ideapad S145 - Touchpad not recognized at all
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1885573 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1885573 It is working now! Using kernel 5.4.0-42-generic and adding the "i8042.nopnp=1 pci=nocrs" kernel parameters to grub made the touchpad work. (I also tried the solution proposed by Ferenc in Bug #1861610. It didn't work, but I cannot be sure if only using the kernel parameter works, so if it doesn't look there). ** Description changed: Touchpad not working and does not show in /proc/bus/input/devices ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: linux-image-5.4.0-24-generic 5.4.0-24.28 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-24.28-generic 5.4.30 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-24-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: - USERPID ACCESS COMMAND - /dev/snd/controlC0: hockenberry 1405 F pulseaudio + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: hockenberry 1405 F pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sun Apr 19 18:55:43 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-04-14 (5 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Beta amd64 (20200409) Lsusb: - Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub - Bus 001 Device 003: ID 046d:c542 Logitech, Inc. Is this also related to the driver or do I need to look at another component? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1520343 Title: Qualcomm Atheros wireless card [168c:003e] (rev 32) not supported Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: --- STATUS: Currently there is a fix for this problem in post #22 (originally post #19, but reposted due to command typos!) which seems to have fixed the issue for many. This bug is unique to revision 32 of the card [168c:003e], fixes for older revisions don't seem to work. There are a couple of issues regarding the fix for some people (not all): 1. Wireless works, but network throughput stops some time after connecting to access point 2. Bluetooth communications take a noticeable performance hit when transferring something over WiFi --- I have recently installed Ubuntu 15.10 (64-bit) alongside Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire VN7-792G-76ZH and discovered, that the Qualcomm wireless card doesn't work in it or 16.04. The computer has just been released this summer and is Intel Skylake -based. I did not use 12.04 which was preinstalled very long, but I think the problem did NOT occur in that release. My wireless hotspot is Netwjork 150mbps which is re-branded name for Tenda W268R 4-Port Switch 150Mbps Wireless-N Broadband Router I think. I am using 802.11 b/g/n mixed mode. Now I reconfigured my AP to use only channel 11 instead of auto-select and only mode 11g instead of mixed mode. Distance from AP is about 5 meters there is one corner between the ap and my laptop but nothing changes even if I bring my laptop next to router. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1332871 Title: [Dell XPS 13 9333] Wifi drops on Intel Wireless 7260 when unplugged from charging cable. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1330698] Re: [Dell XPS 9333] WiFi dropping on
I have this issue also: Wifi drops randomly but I think it happens only when I'm plugged off from the charging cable? When I plug it back in the wifi works again. I did debug the problem with ping and it seems that when I'm on battery I do not receive some packets or I receive some with delay but as soon as I plug the charging cable back I receive those missed packets with huge delay. When I plug off my charging cable my syslog shows: Jun 18 22:34:07 xps kernel: [ 9584.125828] ahci :00:1f.2: port does not support device sleep And when I plug it in again I get: Jun 18 22:36:39 xps kernel: [ 9735.942015] ahci :00:1f.2: port does not support device sleep Jun 18 22:36:39 xps anacron[9292]: Anacron 2.3 started on 2014-06-18 Jun 18 22:36:39 xps anacron[9292]: Normal exit (0 jobs run) Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707044] ata3.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x3 SErr 0x5 action 0xe frozen Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707047] ata3.00: irq_stat 0x0040, PHY RDY changed Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707049] ata3: SError: { PHYRdyChg CommWake } Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707051] ata3.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707054] ata3.00: cmd 61/08:00:98:09:dc/00:00:17:00:00/40 tag 0 ncq 4096 out Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707054] res 40/00:0c:38:aa:1f/00:00:18:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707056] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707057] ata3.00: failed command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707059] ata3.00: cmd 61/08:08:38:aa:1f/00:00:18:00:00/40 tag 1 ncq 4096 out Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707059] res 40/00:0c:38:aa:1f/00:00:18:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707060] ata3.00: status: { DRDY } Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9737.707063] ata3: hard resetting link Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9738.428043] ata3: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9738.430887] ata3.00: configured for UDMA/133 Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9738.444026] ahci :00:1f.2: port does not support device sleep Jun 18 22:36:41 xps kernel: [ 9738.444039] ata3: EH complete And this happens only at my home. When I'm at the office, wifi works just fine. With my previous laptop with Ubuntu installed I hadn't any problems with wifi and my home router It is Netwjork 150Mbps -router with WPA2 enabled and it's pretty old one but no one else in my home is experiencing these kind of problems and there are 4 other people using the same wlan. I already have A04 BIOS and sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date returns A04 03/19/2014 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1330698 Title: [Dell XPS 9333] WiFi dropping on Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Wifi drops on Intel Corporation Wireless 7260, on a Dell XPS 9333. It happens on a D-Link DIR-625 but not on a Netgear WNDR4500 wireless router. The main symptom is, even while next to the router, the connection stops responding every other minute, for minutes at a time. It seems if I leave my computer running the command "ping 8.8.8.8" it will ping for roughly a minute, fine, and then stop, then resume, and so on.
