[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1909866] Re: [Xubuntu 20.04] Distorted HDMI audio

2021-01-09 Thread Pawel Por
Thank you for response. It looks like it has been fixed since 2021.01.02. I've
just done Xubuntu update and I cannot reproduce this issue. When I created this
ticket on 2021.01.02 the Xubuntu was also up-to-date.
I'm closing this issue.

Title:
  [SOLVED][Xubuntu 20.04] Distorted HDMI audio

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
After connecting a laptop to TV set via HDMI and redirecting the sound to
HDMI the sound becomes distorted.
It worked perfectly fine on Xubuntu 18.04. The issue occurred immediately
after upgrading to Xubuntu 20.04.
It usually works correctly when the movie started playing before the laptop
was connected to TV-set. Right after connecting the laptop to the TV-set the
movie continues to play with no sound issues. The sound issues occur when a
movie is paused and resumed to play. The audio is distorted then.
The 100% workaround is to change the refresh rate in Xubuntu's display
settings to another value e.g. 60Hz. It works until I pause the movie again.
Then I need to switch back to the previous refresh rate e.g. 50Hz and so on. In
general I choose between 50 and 60 Hz in a round-robin fashion.
The issue occurs when playing the movies via all available players e.g.
mplayer, vlc or embedded in web browser.
It never occurs when using the Laptop's display.
I cannot observe any system log entries regarding this issue.

  OS: Xubuntu 20.04
  Kernel: 5.4.0-58-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP

Bug description:
Ubuntu 15.10 - Dell E7440 touchpad works correctly when freshly started each
time; but after some time running the mouse pointer starts to randomly jumps
position when I try to use the touchpad.
If I shut down Ubuntu and re-start after about 10 seconds, the problem is
temporarily resolved.
Both the USB Mouse and keyboard blue joy-button continue to work correctly
while having "jumpy touchpad problem.
Running Ubuntu 15.10 installed version (updated from 15.04 new installation)
I have previously seen the same same problem with Ubuntu 14.04 and 15.04,
both live CD and installed versions.
I am new to Linux & forums, so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1724639] Re: Bug in Kernel 4.13 : Intel Mobile Graphics 945 shows 80 % black screen

2018-01-19 Thread Pawel Por
I'm using laptop Samsung N130 and also have this issue with kernel
4.13.0-26-generic. Downgrading to kernel 4.10.0-42-generic solves the
issue but this kernel is Meltdown vulnerable. I've reported my issue
#1742756
