[Kernel-packages] [Bug 2018020] [NEW] Blank screen when waking from suspend with kernel 6.2

2023-04-28 Thread Rustin Schenk
Public bug reported:

on 23.04 I get a blank screen when waking from suspend. I see a little
disk drive activity and then nothing happens. I have to reboot. 23.04
with kernel 5.19.xx works fine. I tried switching between gdm3 and
lightdm but still got no screen on wakeup. I tried using both Xorg and
Wayland and got same results, blank screen.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1868442] Re: Missing wireless network interface after kernel 5.3.0-43 upgrade with eoan

2020-03-27 Thread Rustin Schenk
So far I am not getting offered any proposed updates when I run
software-updater. Even though I have the pre-released updates box
checked in software updater. I also verified that I have:

deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ eoan-proposed main restricted
multiverse universe

in my /etc/apt/sources.list. So I haven't been able to test kernel.

Title:
Missing wireless network interface after kernel 5.3.0-43 upgrade with
  eoan

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I updated to latest kernel: initrd.img-5.3.0-43-generic and find that
bluetooth is enabled and no wireless connection. When I stop bluetooth I go
into airplane mode. I cannot find any wireless connection in network or
wireless connection setup in settings. ifconfig shows there is no wireless
interface setup. When I go back to kernel 5.3.0-42 everything is working
correctly. I am using an HP laptop.
I can see the wireless network controller with lshw:

Title:
Missing wireless network interface after kernel 5.3.0-43 installed

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I apologize if this is a repeat of the bug I filed a couple of days
ago, but I don't see on launchpad that it shows I filed a bug, so I am
filling another. Also didn't know what to file the bug under so I
chose network-manager. It appears to be a bug with kernel 5.3.0-43.

I updated to latest kernel: initrd.img-5.3.0-43-generic and find that my
network is in airplane mode. ifconfig shows there is no wireless interface
setup. When I go back to kernel 5.3.0-42 everything is working correctly. I am
using an HP laptop.

I am
using an HP laptop.

I am
using an HP laptop.
I can see the wireless network controller with lshw:
