Title:
Drivers not working using kernel linux-image-6.2.0-1003-oracle

Status in linux-signed-oracle package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
My Ubuntu 23.04 installed two kernels linux-image-6.2.0-1003-oracle
and linux-image-6.2.0-1003-lowlatency using software updater along
with other updates. After install and restart, most drivers including
wifi, bluetooth, touchpad and ethernet stopped working. Rebooting
using 6.2.0-1003-lowlatency or 6.2.0-20-generic solved the driver
  issues.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1795808] Re: Xorg freeze when using nvidia driver 390

2018-10-25 Thread ccdisle
That makes sense. Lightdm was never there, which probably means there
was no other display manager.

Xorg freeze when using nvidia driver 390

Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi,

Since the installation of Ubuntu 18.10, I get the login screen but
once logged in I get a black screen. It happens only with the
proprietary nvidia driver 390. If I remove the nvidia driver to use
  nouveau, it works.

My graphic card is: NVIDIA Corporation GP104 [GeForce GTX 1070 Ti]

So the automatic report in attachement will show you no nvidia driver
installed. It's because I am doing this bug report after removing the
nvidia driver to be able to get a desktop.

In attachement I add the journalctl of the preview boot which failed
  with nvidia driver.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1752053] Re: nvidia-390 fails to boot graphical display

2018-10-25 Thread ccdisle
Uncommenting "WaylandEnable=false " worked.

Removing gdm3 did not work, I just got redirected to a tty3 login shell.

Thanks again

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1752053] Re: nvidia-390 fails to boot graphical display

2018-10-20 Thread ccdisle
Yes this is exactly the problem I have. Every-time I install the Nvidia-
drivers the machine won't boot up it hangs and displays

"Failed to connect to lvmetad. Falling back to device scanning.
/dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg--root"

I even tried installing earlier drivers -340 or 361 . The problem
persists.

The only time it boots up is when I purge the Nvidia drivers.

This started soon after I upgraded to 18.10.
