[Kernel-packages] [Bug 588082] Re: usb interface with wireless keyboard/mouse and usb1.1

** Tags added: apport-collected saucy staging

** Description changed:

The usb keyboard and mouse may freeze at any time during the use of
Ubuntu Lucid, Fedora, or Suse. The same problem exists on all. If I use
an AC Powered External High Speed USB Hub and connect all my
malfunctioning USB devices through the this Hub all problems disappear.
Everything works perfectly. I can for instance remove and plug back in
the Usb Reciever for the Wireless Keyboard/Mouse as many times as I want
and everything keeps working as long as it is the External Hub. Doing
the same routine on a Usb port directly from the computer the devices
will freeze after the first cycle of un-pluging and re-pluging. If I
have Open Office Writer in use at the same time doing this same
procedure using the Hub and I am typing a word/s the process continues
normally. However if I have the Usb receiver plugged directly into the
computer and Open Office writer open and then unplug the Usb reciever
and plug it back in, I can only type a few letters before a letter or a
space will begin to repeat all on its own and never stop until I push
the reset button on the computer.

The usb keyboard and mouse may freeze at any time during the use of
Ubuntu Lucid, Fedora, or Suse. The same problem exists on all. If I
use an AC Powered External High Speed USB Hub and connect all my
malfunctioning USB devices through the this Hub all problems
disappear. Everything works perfectly. I can for instance remove and
plug back in the Usb Reciever for the Wireless Keyboard/Mouse as many
times as I want and everything keeps working as long as it is the
External Hub. Doing the same routine on a Usb port directly from the
computer the devices will freeze after the first cycle of un-pluging
and re-pluging. If I have Open Office Writer in use at the same time
doing this same procedure using the Hub and I am typing a word/s the
process continues normally. However if I have the Usb receiver plugged
directly into the computer and Open Office writer open and then unplug
the Usb reciever and plug it back in, I can only type a few letters
before a letter or a space will begin to repeat all on its own and
never stop until I push the reset button on the computer.

Title:
usb interface with wireless keyboard/mouse and usb1.1

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
