[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1471119] Re: Samsung 840 Pro 512GB not recognized
I just noticed that yesterday kernel 4.0.0-4 hit the repos So today I made a new installer stick with current daily image and now it works fine. Both my installer problems are gone: - ethernet card gets dhcp connection - ssd is recognized in the partitioner I tried first with those kernel boot params and then without. Result was the same. Whatever it was, it didn't like 3.19 kernel for installation somehow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471119 Title: Samsung 840 Pro 512GB not recognized Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: In order to get newer systemd version I installed 15.10. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1313196] Re: [HP ProBook 450 G1 Notebook PC] Wireless switch not working
Had that issue also. Just installed the Linux subi 3.13.0-29-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 4 21:00:20 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux kernel from the 14.04 repos and now the buttons works. In Kubuntu when I press the button it turns "yellowish" and KDE Network Manager shows Wifi as disabled. When I press it again, Wifi becomes enabled again (the card). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313196 Title: [HP ProBook 450 G1 Notebook PC] Wireless switch not working Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: This system has a button to enable and disable the WLAN interface. This button has a LED on it: it's white when the WLAN is enabled, orange when it is not. Pressing this button, however, does not have any effect on both Ubuntu 13.10 and Mint 16 KDE (which is also based on Ubuntu 13.10). When I press this button, the following output is produced in dmesg: [ 1536.228861] atkbd serio0: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0xf8 on isa0060/serio0). [ 1536.228872] atkbd serio0: Use 'setkeycodes e078 ' to make it known. [ 1536.308669] atkbd serio0: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0xf8 on isa0060/serio0). [ 1536.308680] atkbd serio0: Use 'setkeycodes e078 ' to make it known. There's just a minor difference in behavior between Ubuntu and Mint: while in Mint the led correctly turns white when the WLAN interface is enabled (and the outcome of "rfkill block/unblock" is correctly reflected by the button led color), in Ubuntu this led seems to always stay orange, even if the WLAN interface is active (and connection is correctly established). Please note that I only tried to run Ubuntu from a USB stick (no installation at all, no update performed). WORKAROUND: I can use rfkill block/unblock to enable/disable the WLAN interface. I tried to ctrl-alt-f2 but that didn't open a terminal. Upon suggestion, I then tried to ssh into the computer. That worked fine. So it seems there are graphic problems or something. In order to use that installation I currently use the Saucy kernel. While SSHing I made a backup of the whole /var/log folder. I don't know which of them are relevenat but I can provide them when asked. I have an nVidia Optimus platform and hence wanting to try out kerne 3.12 with native switching support. Also the whole system is encrypted with LUKS/dm- crypt. At bootup I get nicely prompted for the LUKS key, I enter it and afterwords I end up at LightDM. I provide the password there and then the KDE screen appears on which different icons would appear within seconds. However the computer freezes at that point - or rather the display freezes.
