Title:
  Cannot activate STA Broadcom Driver

Status in bcmwl package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: bcmwl-kernel-source

I installed STA Broadcom Driver for Broadcom BCM4312 wireless card
from the Ubuntu 9.10 installation CD. After installing it, I go to
Administration>Hardware Drivers to activate the driver. I click
"activate", type my password and then click "authenticate", but
nothing happens. It still says "This driver is not activated" at the
  bottom of the window.
