Responding to earlier statement in #93: Replaced the TB16 (240W) with a WD19TB (180W) and issue disappeared. Also no issues with thunderbolt user authorization setting enabled. Disabling Thunderbolt Security in the BIOS stops this from happening. This was the only workaround that worked for me.
